The tools I keep in my truck are pretty basic, but enough to get most 'on trail' jobs done. In this video I go through the bag, where I have it, the tools that are in it, and why. Some are specific to my truck, but most are basic tools that would serve you well no matter what you drive. As always with tools, it's never a bad idea to keep tools specific to your rig with you, if you foresee needing them when you're out.

Solid kit. If I had to pick 2 things to add, I would say a pry-bar, and a C-clamp. I had a brake get a rock stuck inside the rotor and ruined the pad while I was 500 miles from home. Was able to change the pads in the parking lot because I had that C-clamp in the toolbox.

Great set up! I would suggest a truck tire plug repair kit & some Schrader tire valve stem with the valve tool. A mechanical tire pressure gauge in the glove compartment. A DC Tire air pump.
The power tools should not be kept long term with the battery loaded in the tool as it will shorten the battery life long term. Rule of thumb on the road, what cant be fixed in under an hour is pretty much a TOW JOB. A good LED head lamp with the disposable batteries stored separately in double HD zip lock bags and dated; cycle or replace them yearly!! All the best, great episode!!

I’m into mountain biking so definitely encourage you to keep at it. I rode a lot in my teen years, somehow skipped my 20’s and got back into it in my early 30’s. Been about 8 years of consistent riding now and have no plans of letting up. Training and fitness are a constant, but makes the riding so much better. I got a smart trainer and use Trainer Road - it’s great and highly recommended. I built up a Tacoma about 5 years ago just to expand my riding areas on the weekend - ride/camp/repeat.

You need 1/2 inch drive sockets and a 1/2 inch power gun Milwaukee or Snapon. good stuff bro 👍🏼

you should add a volt meter, they're like 30-40 bucks at the auto store and help trouble shoot electrical problems. Some spare wire would prob be good too.

Giving away tools is cool , then you dont have to fix it for them too , hehe. "take this , see ya" "good luck". I went tool roll but had the bag for forever. Axle nut socket and a bunch of universal joints is good to have. I like tool time

    That was a great video.
You gave me some good ideas to incorporate into a kit. Oh, please make that recovery kit video you mentioned. I have a feeling I’m going to learn a lot from that. Anyways, thank you so much for the great content.

I think what I'll do is get a 4 x 8 3/4 inch piece of plywood put it on top of my truck bed and I'll bolt a tent on top of that I'll save thousands can't wait to build it

Great little tool kit there, wouldn't have thought about the steel stick. One thing I'm surprised wasn't in there and maybe you keep it somewhere else and I know you have on board air but no tire plug kit? Never know when you will get a puncture especially if you are aired down.
