Should cut top pipe and put flapper on, keep moisture and rain from getting in pipe and flowing down to the bottom of the U of pipe and rusting hole in it, I've replaced couple of them, but put flappers on and no problems anymore. Good looking truck, I love my M109a2, but I love my M925 5 ton more.
Wonderful piece of history -- great for running over all those Prius's that cut you off in traffic! Are you near Tualatin, Oregon? That landscape looks awfully familiar.
Where do you park your deuce and a half? Does the city allow you to park in front of your house? I was going to purchase a deuce and a half but I live in an apartment complex I don't think it will work!
Not a stupid question All deuces are 6x6/off roaders, but for road driving, can select a rear-only drive to save fuel Modded/bobbed Deuce- where they chop off the last axle, are often still 4x4/off road worthy Hope this helps, sorry for late reply
Are you sure you installed this correctly? The hotter gasses pass thru the middle, not the outside. The cone is supposed to face the entrance, not towards the outlet where you were pointing.
Yes, the hotter gasses may go through the center, yet the gasses on the outside still get hot enough to discolor the paint. It's Gillespie CARC substitute 686, not hi-temp rated paint.
It's still loud at highway speed, but I don't wear hearing protection anymore for short trips. I would like it to be a bit quieter. Haven't had a chance to use the calibrated meter to do my after install measurements yet.
Are you going to do a video on the Windshield Wipers ? Or up-grading to electric wipers ? Maybe replace the canvas with some AR500 Steel. Maybe add a photo of the fuel pump and going broke... Thank you for the video ! tjl
They are multifuel hypercycle engines. Higher static compression ratio than your standard diesel. The injection is completely mechanical and designed to dribble some fuel into a cup on the top of the piston, initiating a flame front, followed by a full spray of misted fuel. This allows them to ignite any fuel except high-test gasoline in colder weather (hi-test detonates at much higher temperatures). It is a very efficient design.
Ciprian Maior it is a diesel engine. it's a German design from MAN. it is direct injection, but has some special design to burn not so ignitable fuels like gasoline without too much knocking. the fuel is not vaporized, it forms a film on the surface of a ball formed cavity in the piston. the Intake is formed as a Swirl channel to generate a Swirl in this cavity. so the fuel burning goes more slowly and softer by layers. not in one big combustion. that's the trick to burn knocking proof fuels without damage in a diesel engine.
Max the compression ratio is 21:1. The same at in the Ford 1,8l Four cylinder turbulence chamber Diesel engine, fitted the Ford Fiesta, Escort, Sierra etc build in the 90th.
You have a deuce and a half man and you put a bigger muffler on it not exactly what I would do with it and it would have been a muffler delete video but that's just me
Know you should take the muffler off real quick so we can hear what it sounds like straight pipe you know do a before and after just an idea for your next video like have it straight pipe the old Muffler and then the new one I'd be pretty Nate

Love that sound!
This was shot in NOPO in front of Columbia Park.
What paint and color is your deuce
U still got the truck
He got it right double rings to the top.

Here is a dumb question :( are these 4x4 or just rear wheel drive?

originally 6x6

Nothing had to be changed or "timed" to go from one exhaust to the other??? Just " plug and play" with no long term effects to the engine??
Lot of work brother, but I like the Stock pipe. sounds. Just my choice.
I just took my aero off currently it has about a foot of flex pipe as an exhaust
Thanks for the parts list. You still need earmuffs for highway speed?

are these engines indirect injection?

Dillan Boley fyi the duece is straight piped stock
Dillan Boley they come from the factory w/o mufflers.
They say rael men ware pink.
Nice, these things are annoying with straight exhaust
