I can't tell you how many times I've fallen asleep to the beautiful sounds of this video. Thank you for making the entire video of just the truck in action! :)
no problem, i kind of wanted to make this channel because i like to just listen to trucks and engines, i think far to many people put music and talking over the sounds of the vehicles.
Very good video! My Deuce is down right now and I am trying to figure out what the problem is but this video just made me remember how much fun I have driving it so thanks for posting a video that reminds me why I love driving these trucks and it makes me want to go out and get mine running again! Thanks man!
Please let that old LDT 465 Multifuel engine breathe a little bit more... try not to let the RPM's go below 1500 when the truck is under load. The jump from 3rd to 4th is pretty tall with the Spicer 3053 transmission that your truck has. Don't be afraid to tach it up to 2500 in 3rd to shift to 4th. That's still below the 2600-2650 redline, It'll keep the RPM's above 1500, and keep your truck from lugging. If it wants to grind a bit when you shift into 4th with the R's that high (this doesn't necessarily indicate a syncro problem... it's a typical hit-n-miss occurrence with these old trucks) then double-clutch it, or give it a second to dwell in neutral before slipping it down into 4th. - Thanks.
@@leoweber3629 Technically it still is,anything that is oil, fluid,or diesel can be used in a multi-fuel but so can the same in a normal diesel truck. The only main differences are that the 7.8L has different pistons, injectors, and fuel pumps.
Greetings from Ohio. I just put new steer tires on mine. Someone put dump truck tires on it and they were all dry rotted. I picked up 2 new 9.00-20 Titan 373s already on wheels on craigslist for $700. I love driving mine. It will haul 2 cord of wood like nobody's business.

Correct me if I'm wrong, please, but isn't it in the US laws that a truck this size doesn't require a CDL (class B?) if not equipped with air brakes? I may be crossed up on this matter.
right yep no cdl, same with 5 ton trucks, iit's only when you get to HET that you do, but only if you use it commercially, if it is still just personal use then you still don't need a cdl, even though a HET is rated for 150,000 lbs of towing.
@@ThisGuysStuffandStuff awesome, i been looking at 375s ndts theyre the same style but a little taller that way i can gain some road speed, but i might just keep the original ndts on my truck. whered you order the tires from?

it is a 465 LDT ( 465 is 4.65 inch bore it's a 7.7L engine ) it is a multi fuel engine. in particular this is a Continental engine...technical this isn't a diesel engine it's a hypercylcle engine it uses very high compression to burn raw fuel in a bowl in the piston, it dosen't atomize the fuel like a diesel, pros is that it can quite literally burn anything you put in it (used motor oil, coolant, trans fluid, diesel, gas, vegetable oil) cons, these don't make much power and are kinda fuel hogs. this makes 145 hp and 440 ft lbs
@@ThisGuysStuffandStuff Yours is a LDT-465 with 135 HP/330 TQ.Just a little off.The multi-fuel is a 7.8L and not a 7.7L. The LDS-465 made 175 HP/447 TQ. The "465" is the cubic inches that are correlated to the litres of them, and the compression on them is 22:1. Gasoline can also be used in a multi-fuel if it is mixed with motor oil or diesel,at 70%/30% not 50/50% .Gas shouldn't be a necessity unless it is a emergency, but it would last a quarter mile until that engine dies. When the different pistons, injectors, and fuel pumps are put aside,it's still a ignition compression engine.
@@Slim_Slid yup your right, i had some misinformation at the time. i find it generally difficult to find good information of these engines. Something i still don't know is what an LDS 465 is, not the LDS 427. because i've seen some poeple say it's twin turbo, and others say that its turbo with a super charger, or that is just a bigger turbo. ????

Brings back memories of my Army days back in the eighties. If I were prepping for a disaster and had to purchase a bug out vehicle, this is the one.
I want one so bad...I’d make myself learn how to drive stick shift. 😁
Thats just too cool for school!
it easier to drive a truck stick than a car, so it's a good place to start, and a good excuse to "learn" to drive a stick.
