    hello bunkmate. just to add and comment on testing VHF and MF/HF radio base on PSC inspection experienced.
    If you can identify a ship in your AIS its good to call and make a request for a radio check then if all is OK, you can take note of the name of the ship, time, location and result. PSC inspectors commented that most ships are just writing in the GMDSS logbook almost the same remarks. So if you happen to meet in the open sea try to request a test and surely the other ship will be happy to assist you.
    And dont forget to input in your AIS the status of your ship, weather underway, alongside, or at anchor.
    most of the time, i observed that ships are underway and you check their AIS still showing Alongside.

    I wish if you could have shown capacity test too. Anyways good work.👍
    Just one correction, your daily on load/ off load test is incomplete as after switching off your mains, u need to press the PTT to transmit on a non- distress idle RT Freq and then note down the voltage after 5-10 min. The drop in the voltage shouldn't be below 21.6 V.

    Hi! Thanx for video! R u shure u need to make PV test daily?? I thought daily only printers of SatC, and PV weekly, isn’t it?
    Also I don’t think thats the right way to Onload test battery: apart from switching mains off u need to put some load- push ptt of mf/hf and see how voltage drops. I’m not showing off, just want to clarify: pls comment what is right procedure. Cheers!

      @jcm06 5 лет назад +1

      @@theseamanvlogger dyan nga kmi sir na deficiency kasi dpat nka switch ang AIS kpag nsa oil terminal. VIQ 7 feb 2019
      "When alongside a terminal or port area where hydrocarbon gases may be present, the AIS should either be switched off or the aerial isolated and the AIS given a dummy load. Isolating the aerial preserves manually input data that may be lost if the AIS was switched off. If necessary, the port authority should be informed"

    I was in charge in GMDSS when I was 3/Off, you said that should be Noon position but I wrote down as my duty I started from Morning posn. Is that ok Second?

    • @theseamanvlogger
      @theseamanvlogger  5 лет назад

      Yes its ok that you write the 0800 for your test. And another position in noon. But its ok even you only write the 0800. But for safety like for inspection purposes its better you always keep the 1200 noon position.

    • @ral387
      @ral387 5 лет назад +1

    • @theseamanvlogger

      No.. noon time and position is different story. For noon time and psn you just write in another line. Just like writing a weather forecast.
