  • Here's a step-by-step guide to downloading SKSE (Skyrim Script Extender) for both Skyrim Special Edition and the Classic version:
1.Skip the SKSE Website: While many suggest getting SKSE from skse.com, I highly recommend against it. Trust me, there's an easier way.
    2. Use Nexus Mods: If you've followed my guide on downloading mods from Nexus, you're already halfway there. If not, check it out for a smoother modding experience.
    3. Navigate to SKSE: Head over to Nexus Mods and search for "Skyrim Script Extender" (SKSE) for your game version (Special Edition or Classic).
    4. Click the Vortex Button: Once you've found SKSE, click on the Vortex button to download it directly into your mod manager.
5.Install with Vortex: Follow the prompts to install SKSE through Vortex. It should be a breeze if you've already set up Nexus and Vortex.
    6. Access SKSE from Dashboard: After installation, access SKSE from your mod manager dashboard. Scroll down to "Tools," and you should see SKSE listed.
    7. Verify Installation: Ensure SKSE has installed correctly by checking for any errors or unresolved conflicts.
    8. Run SKSE: Once everything looks good, click "Run" to start using SKSE with Skyrim.
    For Skyrim Classic Version:
1.Search on Steam: If you're playing the Classic version, you can find SKSE directly on Steam. Search for "Skyrim Script Extender" in the store.
2.Download from Steam: Download SKSE for free through Steam and install it like any other game or software.
3.Launch Skyrim through SKSE: Once installed, launch Skyrim through SKSE from your Steam library.
    4. Enjoy Modding: Now you're ready to enjoy Skyrim with all the benefits SKSE provides!
Remember, if you have any questions or run into issues, feel free to ask in the comments. Happy modding, and may your adventures in Skyrim be epic!

This is the one video that helped me out of the 4 or 5 I watched. I was getting ready to give up and play something else, but not today!!! Thank you so much.

I just gave up SE and went back to vanilla. Microsoft will keep sabotaging free mods.
