For people with version 1170 or higher and the skse loader isnt working, you need the mod SSE Engine Fixes(part 1) from nexus mods then you have to install part 2 manually, extract it, then add all files into the same place you added the skse files :)
Is this so I can launch skse on MO2 and have my saves appear, instead of it saying 'new game'? I've been trying to figure out why launching skse from MO2 doesn't show my current character save, for the longest time.

its all about the time that u have and if ur willing to follow countless of installation guides for all kind of mods really, you can also revert to older version of skyrim which I recommend. Personally I never had any success with installing modlist via vortex same goes for Fallout 4, so I'd stick to MO2.

Continuing from last video, I have the standard version, and is attempting changes based on this and making changes as needed: 1:00 When I look under details, it doesn't even HAVE a "Product Version" Oh boy. I guess I'll just use 1.6.1130 version since I needed to redownload Skyrim from start from Part 1 in this video series already. I'll edit if I end up doing something else... Edit: 1:35 Given how I have the standard edition, I downloaded the "Current Classic Build" which is 7zip file 1.7.3 I hope this works....
2:13 For More modern Windows, after 7Zip downloads, it automatically unzipped this, and gave me the files. It's straightforward from there to select the same files and drag to the game directory from earlier.

Yeah, the rumours appear to be true in regard to SKSE being broken in STEAM version. I think that's why the patch update doesn't mention STEAM version. But isn't that normal whenever Bethesda update patches for their Games that SKSE gets broken. SKSE devs work extremely hard to update SKSE.
I'm having issue switch the Address Library not being updated for my version of Skyrim AE for some reason, specifically Skyrim Engine fixes is having difficulty detecting the correct version of 1.6.1170.0.

To my knowledge, Bethesda themselves have never referred to Skyrim 1.6+ as Anniversary Edition, it's entirely on the community for deciding to call it that. I think it spawned out of confusion around that update in general, and by the time the distinction was made clearer, the term had already stuck and it was too late to call it something different.

I know im a bit late but i followed the tutorial and then i launch the game through Mod Organiser the game just shuts off few seconds after start. No matter if i launch using skse64_loader.exe or SkyrimSE.exe. However if i launch the game without using MO, it works ok. Maybe someone could help? :)
EDIT: IF YOU'RE STRUGGLING, PLEASE READ THIS!!! You need to launch it through the SKSE launcher .exe, then hit the backslash key and input "getskseversion" in the command console to see if it's running. Don't forget to install it manually. Vortex with Nexus really does seem to have a hard time with SKSE, it just doesn't wanna run no matter how much you coax it. I've been troubleshooting this for 3 hours and still no end in sight, but this gave me a clue I guess. thanks

QUESTION: how can I load a current save file (like, vanilla save before I downloaded MO2 and everything) when I run SKSE rather than starting a new save? Edit: Solution was under profiles, uncheck “use profile specific save games”

I have followed this exactly and i cant seem to find my skyrim folder at all. All i can find is a round about way that can launch it with no other options and im like getting more and more upset because there doesnt seem to be any guides related to this aspect specifically
just tried this method and the game instantly closed on opening it im using 1.5.97 after using the downgrade patcher and i downloaded skse for 1.5.97 so it should be working but its just not EDIT: think it might be the downgrade patcher screwing me over, gunna keep trying, ill keep ya updated
thought id finally update LOL turns out you can download the 1.5.97 version before the anniversary update and that sucky mod menu they try to get you to use without even using the downgrade patcher, works muh smoother if anybody wants the codes i can add them in a comment with the method

Why on earth would skse launch skyrim too large for my screen? I tried a simple fix by adjusting to 100% in display settings, but that did not solve the issue. When I launch from steam, the resolution is fine.
I found a video that suggested unchecking user profile-specific game ini files. And this actually fixed the issue. However, I don't know what other problems this could cause down the line.

Didn’t break anything-mildly annoying-but I’ve moved my initial Gaming file from my desktop to another location on my PC for better organization. Mod Organizer 2 can no longer jumpstart steam from the loader, I have to open Steam up separately through a shortcut I made moments before. Everything still works perfectly, but what do I need to do should MO2 not being able to find the steam.exe app become a problem in the future?

Hey could you explain what you by "the files will merge" when transferring the SKSE files over to the game directory because I have no option to "merge" anything. If you mean that DATA files will need to be replaced and and the other 2 will be place in the folder G.D. then maybe thats why my peepee is in a toaster right now.
I used vortex the nexus mod manager for everything it was super difficult and now I don’t even know how it works but I have to start the game from within vortex running skse as an application of sorts???? Only when I load Skyrim like this will it work I can’t load Skyrim through steam

after installing skse (did everything like in the vid). you say launch skse and see what version you have. when i launch it opens skyrim window but closes instant. now the game doesn't wanna launch anymore been searching for sollution but can't find any. someone help :p i just wanna play modded
I was finally able to install skse64, now my game wont launch at all. I'm using Vortex, and was able to have that run as primary. Any help would be appreciated.
At the point where I ran Skyrim through running SKSE in MO2, Skyrim opened and prompted me to download all of the AE mods again, which I did, not being able to click out of that window. Dumb mistake, looks like. Now in MO2, I'm showing a red X next to Anniversary Edition Content Picker, and an Overwrite warning, which do not show up on your screen, so I'm assuming the download has done something to my setup that shouldn't be there. How do I fix this?
Looking around, I found an overwrite folder in my MO2 Instances folder with what look like all the files. Might those be the files causing the error, and deleting them would fix it?
I have the same problem. I bought the annyversary upgrade on steam for my special edition, launched the game, downloaded the prompted AE content, closed the game then did the content picker steps. But when I launched it again through skse in mo2 it forced me to download the content again. I assume it's because I handselected just a few creations content instead of everything by content picker and the game thinks I'm missing files.
i have 1.6.318.0 .....and i have never een anyone with this version either in comments or youtube lol i dont know what to do with THIS!! i tried all downloads for skse but errors i just needed that inventory search bar mod in SKYUI which is super cool any idea how to get that separately not by skyuing skse or MO2 modding but through nexus simple way somehow.....am totally new to mods btw so....cause getting stuck at skse right version download stops me from getting to the next steps shown in the video :/

Hello. I have installed this and I don’t think it would be any other mod but when I load in when I turn my camera everything gets bright and pixelated and I am not sure what is causing it. Do you have any idea?
I'd suggest starting this series from the beginning in that case as there's alot of areas that you'll need to be aware of if you're entirely new to modding. Easiest way is to go from the first episode. 7z are 7zip files and require 7zip. This is covered in the series :)

Hey guys, if you're using the 1.6.1170 version of the files, you need to add ALL of the files to your directory file. Not just the DLL and EXE.

They're new version which is the skse64 (1170) and when i move the file into the main one the loader lost its "exe" and won't launch ,dyk why?

You really shouldn't have been using this video for Vortex. There are great tutorials that go in depth about how to use Vortex to install SKSE

MO2 -> Tools -> Tool Plugins -> INI Editor -> skyrimprefs.ini -> change Size H&W to Screen Resolution

Ive tried watching every video i can find on how to set it up properly but it still says i need sn updated version when i click the launch button in nexus.
for some reason everything on my pc is different from yours. makes no sense to me. ive spent the last 37 hours trying to play skyrim now i cant even play the vanilla please someone help
the 37 hours isnt an exaggeration if anything im downplaying it. started this monday it is now thursday
Hey could you explain what you by "the files will merge" when transferring the SKSE files over to the game directory because I have no option to "merge" anything. If you mean that DATA files will need to be replaced and and the other 2 will be place in the folder G.D. then maybe thats why my peepee is in a toaster right now.
I did every thing till 3:30 when i try launching SKSE through MO2 it won't launch
Make sure you put in in the actual Skyrim folder and not with the directory folder
I used vortex the nexus mod manager for everything it was super difficult and now I don’t even know how it works but I have to start the game from within vortex running skse as an application of sorts???? Only when I load Skyrim like this will it work I can’t load Skyrim through steam

SKSE doesn't think, it knows. You need to use Version numbers not the terms "Special" and "Anniversary" - this is explained in the video
im doing everything correct but after i open the game and press continue or new game , im stuck in an endless loading screen. what can be the issue??
Just FYI here, you refer to "previous video" for skse ini file but the previous video in this series doesn't address this. Maybe link to your video that address this in the description for this video in the series?

after installing skse (did everything like in the vid). you say launch skse and see what version you have. when i launch it opens skyrim window but closes instant. now the game doesn't wanna launch anymore been searching for sollution but can't find any. someone help :p i just wanna play modded
I was finally able to install skse64, now my game wont launch at all. I'm using Vortex, and was able to have that run as primary.
Any help would be appreciated.

Just got back to wanting to play skyrim again and here we go.... SKSE still doesn't work. Does anyone know if it works for this GOG Version yet?
At the point where I ran Skyrim through running SKSE in MO2, Skyrim opened and prompted me to download all of the AE mods again, which I did, not being able to click out of that window. Dumb mistake, looks like. Now in MO2, I'm showing a red X next to Anniversary Edition Content Picker, and an Overwrite warning, which do not show up on your screen, so I'm assuming the download has done something to my setup that shouldn't be there. How do I fix this?
Looking around, I found an overwrite folder in my MO2 Instances folder with what look like all the files. Might those be the files causing the error, and deleting them would fix it?
I have the same problem. I bought the annyversary upgrade on steam for my special edition, launched the game, downloaded the prompted AE content, closed the game then did the content picker steps. But when I launched it again through skse in mo2 it forced me to download the content again. I assume it's because I handselected just a few creations content instead of everything by content picker and the game thinks I'm missing files.
deleting the files in the overwrite folder and reinstalling content picker solved my problem

i have 1.6.318.0 .....and i have never een anyone with this version either in comments or youtube lol i dont know what to do with THIS!! i tried all downloads for skse but errors i just needed that inventory search bar mod in SKYUI which is super cool any idea how to get that separately not by skyuing skse or MO2 modding but through nexus simple way somehow.....am totally new to mods btw so....cause getting stuck at skse right version download stops me from getting to the next steps shown in the video :/

Hello. I have installed this and I don’t think it would be any other mod but when I load in when I turn my camera everything gets bright and pixelated and I am not sure what is causing it. Do you have any idea?
I mean I will re install it fresh if I need to to see if that works but I just don’t wanna lose a weeks worth of work of adding in the mods lol

You will need the latest game version number but you do not need the AE DLC. So, if you have SE updated to 1.6.1170 you will be fine.

What do you do now that they're all 7z notepad files?? I can't launch Skyrim from that. Sorry I'm new to modding
I'd suggest starting this series from the beginning in that case as there's alot of areas that you'll need to be aware of if you're entirely new to modding. Easiest way is to go from the first episode. 7z are 7zip files and require 7zip. This is covered in the series :)
