    Remarkable content. You put time into making it concise and so easy to understand. I learned that vortex was fun to use for the last couple years but now that I want to expand my mod library to its full extent with control this series is too good of timing. Also crashing complications and no understanding of how to fix them other than painstaking troubleshooting motivated me to find some other kind of solution and that’s how I found your page. So thank you for providing a clear and truly helpful guide on expanding my skill set with this, even if it’s just a guide on how to use a different mod manager. This is awesome.

    I must thank you for this very in depth series! My Skyrim SE completely broke out of no where and even though I had just played it a few hours before, something broke. So I decided to start fresh, and using MO2 which is completely new to me. My Vortex was just a jumbled mess of mods and plugins.

      My Vortex broke my game by randomly purging mods on a loop and deleting random textures unrelated to the mod I was enabling. My Vortex was similarly in a jumbled mess beyond just that, and despite having used Vortex since its release, and Nexus Mod Manager before that, I decided to finally bite the bullet and try MO2 instead. So far, I'm feeling pretty good about it, though I'm very early in the process

    What I’m about to say may be a bit more advanced and out of the scope of this particular video but would be good to make a guide on later. Something I’ve learned recently is that if you want to mod effectively you need to become comfortable with SSEEdit and using that to double check conflicts and be able to make your own patches because the patches you find online can be a quick bandaid solution but if you have multiple patches for the same mod not all of those patches will necessarily go through since not all of the information may get carried through. Also some mods may get a texture wrong and give you the face bug that happens when textures do not match. One example is a patch between Dibella’s Blessing and AI Overhaul. Patch made them compatible except the patch didn’t carry over the correct eyebrows from Dibella’s Blessing and instead used the default brows and therefore gave me a texture bug for a few npcs. Fixed it by deleting the incorrect reference of eyebrows and replaced it with the correct reference from Dibella’s blessing.

      A very good point here. It goes to show the levels of modding with large builds and the work that can be needed to allow them to seamlessly work together. Certainly a topic to cover on its on in future :-)

    If I may make a small suggestion. Create a 22nd separator titled "New Installs" so that freshly installed mods can be more easily distinguished from the mods that will eventually live in the 21st separator. It made it a lot easier to grab and move newly installed mods once I got deeper into creating the list. Amazing content as always, my dude.

    For worry warts and over thinkers:
    Mod list is nothing more than Data paths (C:\*\data\Mymodfiles) to the needed information. What's lower with the SAME PATH(s) overwrites what's on top. Plugins are the "instruction Modules," where to get information from, and the order of the instructions. This is important to avoid CTDs. The organization here helps so you don't overwrite the wrong files (New with old or bad for example) and loot helps get your "instructions and references" in order.

    Great videos, and easy to follow. However, I must strongly disagree with using the integrated LOOT for MO2 versus the actual LOOT tool. You lose all the features outside of "sort" without using the tool. You should update this video to reflect using the LOOT tool instead.

    • @ADHDecent
      @ADHDecent  10 месяцев назад +3

      I appreciate the kind words thank you. RE LOOT: it’ll be introduced further down the line alongside Bodyslide when we get to it. At this point it’s not needed for the mods covered. It was a choice made to try and prevent overwhelming those new to modding with a number of applications at the start and instead introduce them as and when needed :-)

    • @jsbrando4132
      @jsbrando4132 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@ADHDecent Totally makes sense. Maybe a way to approach it would be to say "this is okay to use at first, but we will show a better solution at a later time". Just wouldn't want to see people become dependent on that integrated tool.

    LOOT may not be needed anymore, but WyreBash is. In my case, when LOOT places e.g. patches incorrectly, we can rearrange them in WyreBash so that there are no errors in loading mods.

    What i have trouble understanding is where the mods should go, referring to the category. I know those separators are very helpful but i've run across some mods that say along the lines of ".... Overhaul" (such as AI Overhaul, Dialogue Overhaul, Magic Overhaul and so on) and i have problem knowing if those go under the Overhaul tab, or the NPCs tab or any other tab that have nothing to do with the name. Would it be possible to make a video (if you haven't done so already) where you explain each category and which mods should go under each tab? Or explain it simply for me (and anyone that reads this comment) to understand where should they go.
    Btw, great work and great step by step guide, keep up the good work!

    • @ADHDecent
      @ADHDecent  11 месяцев назад +2

      Originally this was planned to cover more but I ended up in hospital. I didn’t want to keep people waiting so found a neat way to incorporate all of load order in one. Another thing is I now have to retest everything planned because of the new updates which is setting everything back. So it’s all making my job a lot harder right now xD
      I also tailor these to find the middle ground between those who have the time and those who don’t. So everyone can keep up. Some are lucky to go through it all in one go but many have commitments and I’m trying to ensure everyone can follow along.
      Modding in particular also provides an obstacle with focus and attention. Not everyone is able to take a lot on board in one go as it can be overwhelming. So breaking it up becomes easier for many to digest

I didn’t do the Content Picker portion of the previous video due to my cc content files being FAR less than yours (only 5 show on MO2 in the right pane; I assumed this has to do with a newer version and consolidation of individual files?). Question. With separator number 7 Plants and foliage, since the mods that go with that separator are loaded under Cities, towns, and other lands (5) doesn't that mean any additional trees and foliage would load over the cities, towns, and other lands, causing tree to stick out of buildings. Or is Plants and foliage meaning textures? So any additional plants and foliage would technically go to environment?

    • @ADHDecent
      @ADHDecent  4 месяца назад +1

      Plants and Foliage are usually the smaller items (often just retextures). But, you're confusing Mod Priority with Load Order so even with the correct order there's a possibility for trees to appear out of objects unless 1) the author prevents them spawning in those places, 2) the tree mod replaces trees with exact same sizes and coordinates meaning they won't occupy any space the original doesn't or 3) patches have been made for areas where this happens.

(Note. when i launch skyrim it says it can tell that i have skse installed) any help would be muuuuuchh appreciated.

    hi bro , i have a question if a certain mod has it proper fix should it be placed bellow the main mod or should i place all the fix mods under the bug fixes categorie

    • @ADHDecent
      @ADHDecent  11 месяцев назад

      Patches always load after the mods they fix. I usually put the patch directly after the last of the mods it’s patching.
      Patching is more about compatibility rather than bugs

    i had an issue when i ran loot, i did what it said and then launched the game, and it crashes when i start a new game and then mo2 disables all the plugins. could you maybe make a tutorial of how to manually organize the load order?

      If you are using Engine Fixes try:
      If using Engine Fixes, EngineFixes.toml settings must be adjusted (open it in Notepad) to work around the exclusion of Steam integration by Bethesda with its update. Set to false the below options in the toml file, or use the SSE Engine Fixes - Modified .toml File Only For SSE v1.6.1130. After changing the toml, also check to see if your plugins have been disabled in your mod manager and be sure to re-enable them.
      EnableAchievementsWithMods = false
      SaveAddedSoundCategories = false
      SaveScreenshots = false

    Unfortunately, MO2 LOOT doesnt work. Message i get is Loot failed to run. No errors were reported. Log states Loot failed. Exit code was 0x0000135. From what ive read MO2 Loot isnt working, and better to install Loot itself

    • @ADHDecent
      @ADHDecent  9 месяцев назад +1

      0x0000135 is a .NET framework error. It means you need to download and install the .NET framework required. MO2’s LOOT function is working. Hope this helps

    I started to play Skyrim again, after very long time and wanted to mod it heavily like I did back days. I found this guide and I followed it step by step until now, but its just so incredibly tiresome that I will be uninstalling the whole game. Really sad story. Dont remember it being so hard, and I was like 15 yo and I was using more than 100 mods.

    Loot is the biggest scam in modding. Nobody needs it. If you think you do don't install mods just use a mod collection, will save you a lt of time and frustration.

      The problem, I think, is you have your Skyrim install in the program files (x86) folder.
      Do not install your skyrim in that folder or the regular program files folder. These are protected folders which can cause bugs and issues with mods reading and accessing the files in there.
      Save is somewhere else like make a games folder on the drive and save there or something.
      If your on steam this will be a hassle tho if you dont have a second drive that you can set to as youll need to completely reinstall steam so its not in that folder.

    Just so I understand better, I shouldn't have Skyrim installed in the common folder with my other games? Or is it just the fact that it's on C drive. That part I don't quite understand.
