Also to put into perspective of how popular Jimmy and Cold Chisel is, this was a Keith Urban concert and the crowd knew every word.
Keith often puts this song into his playlist for Australian concerts.
@@karynbenson6318 😊
How fucking good was that? Even Keith was fanboying over that performance and with good reason. Fucking perfect.
Keeping in mind Keith grew up listening to Chisel. It doesn’t matter how big Kieth Urban gets, this was him getting to sing with a childhood hero.
Between Flame Trees and Forever Now this small town Kiwi girl understood heartbreak.
We love jimmy no one in Australia messes with jimmy or they would have whole country against them🤣🇦🇺👍
👍🇦🇺
Lmao! So true! We are fiercely loyal to all our artists, whether they were born here or not, that makes no difference to us ❤
Flame Trees is THE BEST Cold Chisel song, everyone knows it even if they don't know the name of it in Australia. Their best work.
100%
I think it’s the BEST Australian song.
Do you remember nothing stopped us on the field, in our day...
I think this is what makes most of our Aussie legends so special... they all collab, respect each other and help each other out behind the scenes with albums/concerts etc... even though a lot of them are technically in competition chart wise... it never stops them showing what it looks like to simply get along.... we love them ....
This is a Cold Chisel song, written by the original drummer, Steve Prestwich and keyboardist Don Walker. Steve also wrote When The War Is Over. RIP Steve.
BTW Nicole Kidman is also Australian.
Two of the best Australian songs ever.
Jimmy is like the Godfather of Australian music at the moment. You need to check out Keith Urban doing "To Love Somebody" a Bee Gees clasic with Barry Gibb in the front row.
Oh yes, Keith’s performance of that song at the tribute show was the bomb!
Wish he would release that as a single. Bloody love it!
Hadn't heard this duo before. We all know how good Jimmy is, but Keith...mate, RESPECT!
Even the Australian crowds can sing no end to the talent in this country.
I was at this concert and this is where I realised Jimmy was genius, hearing him live just does not compare.
Love Keith Urban he can sing and play.
There are some songs that are just in the Aussie DNA, I was like im just going to watch this reaction, by the time Jimmy comes in I was already singing along without even realising it. Flame Trees, Khe Sahn, Bow River, Your the Voice are just the surface of absolute pub anthems.
One you may not have heard yet Horses by Daryl Braithwaite was played as a signal to leave the pub/club and gained so much popularity that Daryl was brought back touring the country by festival organisers
I love how passionate you are about Australian artists. I think you amazing ❤
I just found myself grinning through that entire performance. Great.
It's a cold chisel song. One of their absolute best
We are so lucky Jimmy is still around love my Jimmy!
Keith Urban does a brilliant tribute to The Bee Gees at an American award ceremony, simply stunning.
Keith is also very smart, intuitive and kind! 🤗 Great harmonising Jimmy, Keith "knows" the song! Love this combo, love this song 😊😍
Keith started as a Rocker.....but became a Star with Country Music, he also is a Goat on the guitar......check out "You'll think of me" or "Blue Ain't your color"
Have loved Cold Chisel forever - and loved Keith the first time I heard him
Jimmy is an awesome guy to, he is the salt of the earth, if you ever meet him offstage you wouldn’t know he was a big name famous dude, Angus Young is the same just an awesome guy. Love them both to hell
Dunno why but every time I hear this song it puts a tear in my eye, love Jimmy and chisel and go Keith for doing a duet with the man
I tear up when I hear this song too. There's just something about that melody!
Just celebrated my 50th birthday in my hometown of Narrogin in Western Australia & I had 2 play Flame Trees as its a classic pub song & I've always heard this song in my local pub...
A flame tree "Brachychiton acerifolius" is a very common site in Australia often seen along roads and in parks. The flame trees will blind the weary driver, And there's nothing else could set fire to this town. The vocalist describes driving into their old (dead) hometown.
So much respect for Jimmy and Keith 👍
Notice how the crowd knows the song. Another classic Australian song that we grew up with.
One of the all time classic Chisel songs....
This is an exceptional performance....
Totally agree expansion of catalogue is so good for the soul.
This is my favourite Chisel song (so hard to pick a fav). Very cool to see Jimmy performing it with Keith 😍
Keith Urban - Blue aint your colour is a fantastic song to start your KU journey
This just goes to show how much of an impact Jimmy has made on the Australian music scene.
Thank you. Another great reaction to my Country’s talented entertainers. xx. 🇦🇺
Keith was from Queensland and used play down at the Tamworth music festival (Tamworth is our Nashville for country music). He released a solo album here then moved to Nashville. He and Nicole Kidman have a house here and in Nashville, so they do come here for a portion of the year depending on their schedules.
All our icon singers are great mates with each other, the thing I like about our artist are they are all so humble and caring of all people especially when representing Australia to the world, Keith is one of the best to prove this.
100% this - the Australian music scene is so unique that I think people from overseas struggle to understand that major artists genuinely support each other publicly and privately, and this is a great example of that - it’s like a private jam session between mates, only it’s at a concert. And it’s something that happens somewhat regularly.
Finally an advantage to being older ... seeing Cold Chisel live at the Bondi Lifesavers ... best ever!!!!
I’m so privileged to have seen Jimmy and Cold Chisel in concert with INXS and I saw Keith Urban in Brisbane years ago and Omg he can play that guitar like he was born with it.. amazing Australian Artists 😇🇦🇺
Thank you for playing Flame trees sung by Jimmy Barnes. Loved the collaboration with Keith Urban, made my day 👏👏
I'm not a country or a Keith Urban fan particularly but he's a great talent and this, with Barnesy, was amazing to watch. In case you're interested the song is named after the Illawarra Flame Tree, which a native Australian plant often used as a street tree in New South Wales - hence 'The flame trees go by the weary driver / And there's nothing else can set fire to this town.' In early Summer the trees are entirely covered in bright red flowers making them look like they're in flames.
Flame trees is a cold chisel classic
This is a huge chisel song. Love this song
One of my claims to fame; Keith Urban and I were probably born in the same hospital😅 in New Zealand. Members of his family were acquaintances of members of my family. But they didn't know Keith. He had gone to Australia🙂
Glad you appreciate Australian talent. I come from Barnesy's neighbourhood ( I am a pro musician- guitar). Keith is fron NZ but grew up in Australia. This is my favourite Chisel song. Keith outgrew his guitar teacher by age 8. Peace man.
The original film clip to this song was shot in my home town... it always makes me homesick
The smile of yours at the end....says it all...good man!
It’s a funny thing, many famous Australian bands have fantastic Scottish born singers and band members.
Jimmy Barnes in Cold Chisel
AC/DC - Angus Young & Malcom Young, Bon Scott (original singer)
Colin Hay from Men at Work.
And The Bee Gees emigrated from England to Australia with their family when they were kids. They honed their performance skills in the great live venues around South-East Queensland in Australia before they became famous.
This is what is great about a keith urban concert....hd always asks his old mates on stage. We always have a great time.
Sure do!
One of my most favourite Chisel Songs!
Two Aussie blokes just having fun 🎉😊😂
Keith is good friends with Jimmy and the Barnes family 🙂. He's also a coach on the voice Australia.
This is a cold chisel song.
Loving your new intro and icon pic 😊
Keith is one of the biggest Cold Chisel fans! You can see how privileged he feels! He, Jess Mauboy abs Jimmy do a great cover
If you liked this you need to check out Jimmy and Keith doing "good times" it will blow your head off
I love singing this song
@thatsingerreactions. You need to get on a plane and come over. Seeing jimmy live is nothing like the video’s. He is amazing live. He is doing gigs at the moment. Seen him many times. Perfection
Jimmy is an incredibly generous performer. It was no doubt honed during his tenure with Cold Chisel: people in bands have to learn how to make space for each other to shine, so the whole band can shine. His collaborations with the cream of the Aussie crop is a testament to both his innate talent (as you say, he can blend with anyone almost effortlessly) and his ability to play nice with the other kids. 🤓
Check out Dan Sultan he's a great singer,he toured with INXS as their lead vocalist after Michael Hutchence left us.
I remember this concert like it was yesterday. Jessica Mauboy came on with Jimmy as guests. Bloody Awesome show!
My favourite Cold Chisel song. Australia is a big country with plenty of opportunities to to play live and develop a following.
Another brilliant song
Great Reaction 👍
Love this Duo by 2 of Australia 🇦🇺 Best 💯
Keep them coming.
So Love Keith Urbans
'The Fighter'
It really don't get better than that! 💕
Keith Urban had a hit in Australia called 'Only You'. He then went to the US to be a touring guitarist for some big country acts and just found his solo career there.
I love how well you know Jimmy now
OMG! What a little hidden gem! I didn't know this happened. I'm just smiling like crazy right now!
Absolutely 100%
Who Dey baby! Love from Australia 🇦🇺
It’s an Aussie song from cold Chisel. Keith is awesome. He grew up on Jonny and jimmy. Glad I found your channel. Love from down under
Real singers interact with the fans live!
There is not an Australian on this planet who does not know every word by heart ❤️ of this Cold Chisel classic anthem!!!🔥😎🔥please react to early Chisel og version of this Barnsey and Moss going off!!!
I've been waiting for this to pop up for a long time. Flame Tree is a Cold Chisel classis and Keith Urban has clearly coordinated with Jimmy to reprise it. The crowd goes off because if ever there was a song to be sung in a crowded bar on new years eve just as people are headed for midnight this is it. The Flame Tree is an iconic Australian Rainforest tree of Queensland and Northern New South Wales. It is incredibly beautiful filled with red flowers when it is full bloom and has been introduced all over Australia. When you see one you are likely to just say "wow." The lyrics basically juxtaposed the brilliant flowers against the slow pace of a country town that never changes - except that his true love will never be around. If you ever want to get a "melancholy on," just play this song late at night while sitting in the dark. BTW it was a great duet but the audio really sucked. You should just go and listen to the original Cold Chisel version for yourself some time. If it does not become a favourite I will be surprised.
He has- he reacted to it months ago on Patreon. Was probably blocked on RUclips but it is still on Patreon
Flame tress is my favourite song of his, never get tired of hearing it even on repeat!
Jimmy is also an author who has written two books of his life, a cook book with his wife and a children's book. I think Jimmy is in the process of written another book at the moment in-between doing concerts.
Keith urban, saw him twice in the late 90s at Caboolture RSL for 12 buck a ticket
Had to watch thus one more then twice. Thank you.
He's a Kiwi
Keith often puts this Cold Chisel classic into his Australian concerts. I was at the Sydney concert when he brought out Jimmy Barnes. It was amazing although this video doesn't do justice to the performance. The singing almost lifted off the roof. Definitely an Aussie favourite.
Absolutely true about increasing ones catalogue of what we like. All of us learn something new everyday, and isn't it great 👍 👏🥰
We are not a huge country, but we do have huge talent. Well as Nicole Kidman is also aussie, it was a great match ✌
YES...
Such a classic Aussie classic.
Great version too.
Keith was a judge on The Voice Australia this year and his young man, Arlo, was runner up. He's a wonderful Aussie. You should watch him and Guy Sebastian do Ain't No Sunshine. Fabulous.
Written about my home town
Finally u find keith urban.
Great version of a great song, well sung.
Interesting fact, Keith recorded his first album in Jimmy’s home studio back in the day..
And to my knowledge, he always performs a “Chisel” song in his set when touring Australia
@Rachel Dickson i was lead to believe it was recorded at Freight Train Studios, and engineered at EMI🤷♂️
I used to sing my 3 children to sleep every night with this song when they were babies! Such an iconic Australian song but it holds such a special place in my heart ❤
This is a cold chisel song...Barnsey was lead vocalist in Cold Chisel
Two of the greats together. I've seen them both live but not at the same time but this is a good second place. They do a great version of Good Times together as well.
Thanks for the memories 😊
Love your reaction thankyou ❤️
Goosebumps.
Oh that was a joy to watch with you! I just heard an acoustic version of Flame Trees on the radio and it made me run here to see if you'd covered it, and now I know another version of this classic song.
❤❤❤
One of my favourite Cold Chisel songs 🙂💕
How good is this?!? Bravo, 👏👏👏👏👏
I fell sorry for people who have not had this kind of experience. Being surrounded by a singing crowd. Full of joy. Its a truly spiritual experience. If you are one of those people do what ever you can to support live music and have that experience for yourself. You wont regret it. : )
So good Nick. Thank you ❤❤❤
If you do a Keith Urban song - Do 'Blue' I think it is called it is a beautiful song and his voice is beautiful in this one.
That was awesome. Love Keith Urban and Jimmy Barnes.
I hit the like button before I even hear you....that is how sure I am it will be great...keep it up you are doing a great job
And what a beautiful singing voice you have …. I could happily listen to you sing along for the whole song…👍🦘☺️
I love how good they are together! Beautiful beautiful performance❤️
He comes from Caboolture an outer suburb in Brisbane.
Probably my favourite song of all time! An absolute classic Aussie song.
