Cover of Weep for Manetheren, from Amazon's The Wheel of Time. Vocals and instrumental by Hildegard von Blingin', lyrics/translation in collaboration with Bernadette Banner.
It's been an age! Thank you all for your patience since my last video. It means the world to me that you still come back for more, and I do appreciate every kind comment you leave. This channel remains a passion project that I do when my day job allows time, though I'm happy to say that I have two completed Bardcore covers waiting in the wings. Also, I have an instrumental version of this that I might share if there seems to be enough interest. Let me know if you'd like to hear it!
This project was done in collaboration with the incomparable Bernadette Banner, who originated the idea and spearheaded the translation into Old Tongue. Please check out her video series covering her creation of Moiraine's iconic look from the Wheel of Time show! This song was created for the reveal in part 3.

    Lyrics:
Conden iro sa muadniey a fel daden

    English (Not a direct translation):
We walk the footsteps of our fathers
The trails blazed by our mothers
They bought the land with their blood
    Long ago, long ago
    Sing of Manetheren
Weep for the blood of Aemon
    Cry for Manetheren
    Long ago, long ago
In the land where the first blood runs
    Across the Tarendrelle
    Flew the Red Eagle
    Destined to fall
    No ground was given
    But they were betrayed
By dawn on the last day
    The waters were blood
    Sing of Manetheren
Weep for the blood of Aemon
    Cry for Manetheren
    Long ago, long ago

Companies really need good talent seekers. I’m not talking about pencil-pushing agents, but people who have a real passion for a story and want to see it brought to life in the best way possible. Such people will even on their own time go and immerse themselves in the topic and find talented people who are passionate about the topic. In the case of music, talented and passionate people like Hildegard here, or Malukah, or Lindsey Sterling. Malukah for example sings many Skyrim-inspired songs and is so much better than the singers Bethesda actually hired.
So much recent big-budget stuff is just done for profit not art and from the top down. Almost everyone is just a cog in a machine. Wheel of Time, Game of Thrones s7-s8, and Rings of Power all have huge budgets but no soul.
Hollywood needs to start hiring people like Hildegard.

I was seriously thinking of begging you to make a video with them, singing some songs from the Wheel of Time...your voice is exactly how I imagined this one character - Thom, - to sound!
