The vast majority of phones can record 30, but not 24/25, so converting phone footage down to 24/25 will introduce its own frame pacing issues. 5:43 I would love to see an upgrade where the phone makes a few photos with a different focus and brightness to make a photo where a source of light e.g., the moon would be well visible as well as the rest of the environment, sky. When we focus on the source of light e.g. moon, the Pixel camera can take a nice photo but everything else is almost black. When we want to take a sky photo, the moon or any other source of light is just a white point. It would have way more usage than all those AI-empowered, cutting tools, imo.
whats the usable zoom level on the standard 8? had the 6 pro before and just didnt enjoy using it because it was too big.... worth waiting for the reported compact 9 pro or is the 8 camera good enough....
Switching from 7 Pro to 8 Pro may make a difference, but from 7 Pro to 8, I don't think it's that promising unless you use those "photoshopish" AI stuff. If you aren't a content creator or SNS addicted, it's not gonna be a super upgrade. I myself use a Pixel 7Pro, Galaxy S22 Ultra and an iPhone 12 mini and the 7 Pro still is a great phone overall in my opinion.
Its sad that google can slap a thermometer in pixel 8 pro, which nobody wanted or asked for, but they are not interested to acomodate a SD card slot. These companies stripping away popular features like headphone jack or sd card slot, makes me look toward sony xperia 1 v. If sony promised 5years of software n security, i would buy it at any price at all. Please compare google pixel 8 pro, vs sony experia 1 v, vs samsung s23 ulta, in terms of user experience, UI, in hand feel, features, battery drain time, thermal management, and value for money. I ll buy one of these 3. Waiting for response. Thanx
Omg the single reason why I stopped using my Pixel 7 pro and started using my s23 ultra instead it's because of that fixed focus literally every selfie I took looked horrible
I stick with 7Pro also it is perfect for me getting the Dji 4 than the 8 Pro! I see plenty of Pixel users stick w 4 5G, 6, 7, & 7 pro's Anyway might not not every one agree!
Was excited to switch from my pixel 7 to an 8 pro but they msrp in comparison to the pixel 7 pro jumped by 200€. Too much. Should have gotten the 7 pro in the first place. I really want that tele.
If it's cameras you're looking toward then the pixel 8 pro is much better than the 6 pro and 7 pro although there's remarkable differences I've not long purchased the pixel 8 pro and the cameras compared to my last model absolutely spanks it only just though the pixel 8 pro has 7 more years of Android software updates thus leading to potentially Android 22 whereas any other models below that will still be supported just not with 7 updates compared to the newer editions with the Android industry the way that it is I'd say they'd most likely drop support for the 8 pros and 9 pros as soon as a newer, badder, and better model is released just like apple do with their products
You can get Google-authorized battery replacement kits mailed to you. It's fiddly, and involves heating up the back, but its doable. If you don't fancy that, there are repair shops which will do it for you (again, many of them official)
Anyone else noticed lumps/bumps under the screen when the screen is off? I've got a few in random places on my Pixel 8. Can't notice them when the screen is on but if I catch the light at an angle I can see them.
No one is talking about how crappy are the photos from the selfie cam, so blurry and no sharpness. I got my Pixel 8 Pro and I am disappointed with that.
Had the Pixle pro for 2 days, damn phone. The camera is terrible in the dark, the flash light is weak and yellow in color. A lot of flickering during video. The mobile feels cheap when you hold it, a lot of sharp edges and ill-fitting aluminum frame. Screenshot images flicker.. Media volume turns on max strength even if I adjust the volume down. Also annoying these Google things that Google will push on me, first free, then pay, mafia is the right thing here. Returns the crap, and starts my Samsung S21 plus.
They better bring those manual controls to the P6P, I lost many photos because the camera software is a piece of shit that refuses to switch to the telephoto when I want, plus the lack of manual controls on a phone voted to photography has always been ridiculous.
I am currently on my 4th consecutive Samsung and thinking of changing because Samsung just tends to be very Colourful and Vibrant which makes the photos Unrealistic As far which of the two Google Phones to go for I am still confused as to is there a significant Difference between the photos they take in Equal Conditions, I mean the Beautiful Samples shown in this Video look almost Identical.
Do you think, Pixel 6 pro will receive a future update on the camera tools feature (best take, noise removal, etc) because it is IA and has nothing to do with the hardware of the phone
Any older pixel models will still receive bug updates security and privacy updates actual software updates no they won't be supported in comparison to the newer models as they have 7 more updates due all the way up to Android 22
According to one I saw, the iphone does better regular standard shots due to the 24mp mode, plus it has a judder free changing focusses during video capture. The rest is worse, technical wise at least. (Wifi e, USB-C 3.2 only for the max version, not as sturdy by far)
I don't think you are going to miss anything if you don't update as you'll be getting Android 14 as well and the cameras on the 7 were already really good. I'm upgrading from an end of life phone (OnePlus 7T Pro), so it will be a huge update both from the software and the hardware perspective 😅

Therefore, you get even more judder when presenting 30 fps recording in 25 fps video on a 60 Hz screen.
They already incorporate those techniques to a vast degree.HDR pix are only possible that way.
Which is good for photography and videos?
Would you pick this or the Sony 1 V? They are the same price on my contract
Which one did you pick in the end?
@@danielhagos6944 I got the Sony 1 VI just recently pal and it's amazing. I'm glad they upgraded the screen size to larger. I recommend it.
whats the usable zoom level on the standard 8? had the 6 pro before and just didnt enjoy using it because it was too big.... worth waiting for the reported compact 9 pro or is the 8 camera good enough....
7:17 this feature, I have already used in Nokia Lumia 1020
The big question is, is it enough of an upgraded over the Pro 7?
Nice review 👍
Depends on thermals and battery optimisation. Pixel 7 sucks
@@Kats0unam1 I don't agree. Never had issues with over heating and my battery is good for more than a day
The Pro, maybe. The standard Pixel 8 seems like barely an upgrade over the standard 7.
@@Kats0unam1You sound like you are evaluating the phone without having experience of actually using it.
The pixel 8 pro is the best pixel phone I've had yet and the camera's are remarkable!
I stick with 7Pro also it is perfect for me getting the Dji 4 than the 8 Pro! I see plenty of Pixel users stick w 4 5G, 6, 7, & 7 pro's Anyway might not not every one agree!
Pixle 8 pro is worth it if you want the pixle watch 2 on pre order
Sir please do a comparison video between regular pixel 8 and regular iphone 15, specially camera.
Was excited to switch from my pixel 7 to an 8 pro but they msrp in comparison to the pixel 7 pro jumped by 200€. Too much.
Should have gotten the 7 pro in the first place. I really want that tele.
Is the ultra wide angle 125 degrees on the Google pixel 8 pro?
Don't see the tips n tricks video anywhere?
The Pixel 7 is currently 1/2 the price of the Pixel 8. Is the Pixel 8 twice as good? 🤔
Is this a good upgrade from the 4a 5g?
I think yeah, considering 4à 5 will be not supported any longer starting from now
With 7 years guaranteed updates, what is the official way to change a battery on a Pixel?
You can get Google-authorized battery replacement kits mailed to you. It's fiddly, and involves heating up the back, but its doable. If you don't fancy that, there are repair shops which will do it for you (again, many of them official)
Anyone else noticed lumps/bumps under the screen when the screen is off?
I've got a few in random places on my Pixel 8.
Can't notice them when the screen is on but if I catch the light at an angle I can see them.
So entertaining this man is
No one is talking about how crappy are the photos from the selfie cam, so blurry and no sharpness. I got my Pixel 8 Pro and I am disappointed with that.
Should have turned off the transition of those ultrawide shots. Can't make out the difference with that effect.
I have the pixel 7 pro and I cannot get a new one each year. I hope it is still good enough in comparison.
Returns the crap, and starts my Samsung S21 plus.
it means that pixel 8 doesn't have shutter speed anf iso settings ?
They better bring those manual controls to the P6P, I lost many photos because the camera software is a piece of shit that refuses to switch to the telephoto when I want, plus the lack of manual controls on a phone voted to photography has always been ridiculous.
i want 8 pro specs in same pixel 8 model because of size same as apple doing it 14 pro and pro max just size should b change not camera
I am currently on my 4th consecutive Samsung and thinking of changing
because Samsung just tends to be very Colourful and Vibrant which makes the photos Unrealistic
As far which of the two Google Phones to go for I am still confused as to is there a significant Difference between the photos they take in
Equal Conditions, I mean the Beautiful Samples shown in this Video look almost Identical.
Do you think, Pixel 6 pro will receive a future update on the camera tools feature (best take, noise removal, etc) because it is IA and has nothing to do with the hardware of the phone
It won’t, they make sure people have a reason to buy the newer product
Any older pixel models will still receive bug updates security and privacy updates actual software updates no they won't be supported in comparison to the newer models as they have 7 more updates due all the way up to Android 22
The only thing I don't understand is when Samsung uses exynos we get angry but when Google uses it we don't have problems with it
Honestly i don't think the pro is worth an extra 300 quid. I'm actually happy with my pixel 7 and don't see the need to upgrade to the 8 either.
Is the 128 gig enough?
that depends if you like offline content then get 256gb at the very least. You download video and music and games a lot then yeh 256gb.
The most powerful Android cameras
If this camera better than the pixel 6a, I'm going to grab it
Random Question - is Google Pay as widely accepted as Apple Pay? Im thinking of moving from I phone 13pro to Google Pixel 8 Pro..........
Yes 👍
It's Basically the same thing just named different, anywhere you can tap a bank card your iPhone or android (if it has NFC) will be the same
Pixel 8 vs iPhone 15 camera comparison is what we would love to see.
According to one I saw, the iphone does better regular standard shots due to the 24mp mode, plus it has a judder free changing focusses during video capture. The rest is worse, technical wise at least. (Wifi e, USB-C 3.2 only for the max version, not as sturdy by far)
Is it manufactured in China?
this was the video I needed, for me the pro is not worth the extra €
still don't get what to choose
Want pixel 8 vs s23 review gaming battery connectivity etc etc
A comparison of the 7 to 8...worth the upgrade?
Im pleased with the 7 and no issues at all at the moment.
Great review ...as always 👍
I don't think you are going to miss anything if you don't update as you'll be getting Android 14 as well and the cameras on the 7 were already really good.
I'm upgrading from an end of life phone (OnePlus 7T Pro), so it will be a huge update both from the software and the hardware perspective 😅
I upgraded from the 7 to 8 Pro. Mainly for the size and camera. 7 is still a great phone.
@@Josh-gu5fy You think it was worth the upgrade? I'm on the fence of upgrading to an 8 pro, but can't really decide just yet.
Low light video and photos are absolute shit I'm returning my pixel 8 pro they are no longer the king of cameras that is now back to iphone
Why give the 50mp camera on 8 just to distinguish the bigger one as “pro” , I mean common isn’t this a bit too much
Magic editor only works with an internet connection and cloud activated
Pixel 8 video booster by December via soft ware update
only available for PRO version which is sad
@@hackdoug7440 promoting something w/o having it right now is double sad with a sprinkle of disappointment cuz google loves to bury some of their ideas. But lets see..
Is it the "pixelated" or the "Pixel ate" or the "Pixel 8"? I can't decide what I hear haha
I'm still on the bloody fence with this, I can get the Pixel 8 Pro 256GB with the Watch 2 for £900.......currently on an iPhone 13 Pro Max. Still something is stopping me, much of an upgrade comparatively?
Nothing is jumping out at me.....the OS shift doesn't bother me.....but I do need a new watch as my Series 4 is on its arse with battery life.
£900 is a good price, I see that as £1059 on UK google store.
The 8 Pro 256 GB version would be £1059 I think, rather than £900? The offer lasts till 16/09.
Do it. You will love the pixel experience. And probably won't go back! You will not regret it!
The watch battery is still only a 24 hour one. I know it's a lot more but my Garmin Fenix solar will go a couple of weeks without plugging it in to a charger.
Pixel 8 for me or waiting till the pixel 8 a and enjoy the pixel 7a
So I have the dilema of should I go for an 8 (£699) or a 7, having in mind that I can get the 7 for about £396 - might go lower soon. Can't figure out if its worth it?
Always buy the new version. In a year, the 7 will be 2 years old.. Go for the 8 or 8 Pro. And these newer phones will get software and security updates for 7 years!
The comment above is silly. Don't always buy the new version if the value isn't there. That being said, given the Pixel 8's long-term viability, it makes it worth it in this instance if you plan to keep the same phone for several years
@@nick8339 the comment isn't silly at all. That's not how technology works. Especially when it comes to phones. Companies listen to the problems or figure out the issues and fix them in the new phone. There's nothing silly about that logic.. Yes the Pixel 5 and 4a are great smaller devices. But no one should buy those phones in 2023. Google has made 3 revisions to fix any of the issues of those older devices.
@mackmccord3743 they shouldn't buy them bc they no longer have update support. The pixel 8 is unprecedented in that respect. If the pixel 8 had the same update span as previous pixels he should absolutely buy the 7 if he is on a budget
@@nick8339 if he's on a budget he should get his priorities straight and not buy a phone at this time. My pixel 3a still works flawlessly. No excuses. Save up and get the new phone.
5 x optical zoom is always worth it when you are serious about photography.
great
I wish 8/8 pro have 3.5 mm headphone jack with quad dac
Google pixel 8 pro doesn't have 3.5 jack. 😢
Yeah, it's unfortunate, but very few phones come out with those anymore.
Just get USBC headphones. Its not a big deal
@@Klust413cheaper phones quite often do but mid and flagship phones don’t.
@@kramshiron Yep, I made the switch to bluetooth everything when I had an s10+ which I got when I did because it was one of the last with it in a flagship level. That prepped me for my Pixel 6 Pro, and whenever it gets delivered today (out for delivery now ^.^) the Pixel 8 Pro.
Was contemplating swapping to the pro over my oppo find x2 pro, but the more videos i watch the more i feel it'll be a downgrade somehow 🤷 probably buy the findx5 pro or import the 6 when the time comes or even still keep the pro 2.
The Pixel phone is much better. There is nothing like the Pixel experience. And it's definitely not a downgrade
I am in the same position, should i keep my find x2 pro or get the pixel 8
@@mackmccord3743 can you explain why it's "much better"? As I'm failing to see it personally after watching reviews. My oppo has a higher resolution display, still has 120hz yes might not be as bright at 1200nits peak , has 48mp sensors that I can utilise fully without software locks on the 8 also most of pixels camera appeal is post processing, has 12gb of ram (15gb sharing memory) that I can increase even more if needed (not that you need it). Obviously the tensor G3 is faster as it's 3 years newer but in reality it won't really make much of a difference day to day to an average user. So apart from that I really don't see a massive difference? Add to that the supervooc charging in 30minutes
@@rickym7380 I held off on a pixel 7 pro before hand awaiting the 8 pro and now I'm still just as disappointed, the smartphone markets went stale everything is the same (except iPhone they are still shit)
@@Dazza2292 you will just have to look up our wait for the Pixel 8 pro verses your phone videos. It's not easy to explain. The phone as a whole is a better experience. The best thing would be for you to test it out and see for yourself and if you don't like it, return it. In my opinion which may be different from yours is that no phone in all of its functions and features compares to the pixel phones. It does everything you need it to do exactly the moment you need it to. Most people refer to it as the Pixel Experience
I just purchased the 7 for $450
Tht audio editor needs work
nobody has done benchmarks on the phone, it pretty weird, the phone is good but not as good as advertised, plus the weird stuff, the software stuff only available on the Pro, also the Pixels got quite expensive in the US overseas they will get destroyed with the export tax, the Pixel 8 Pro is worth buying if the weird Architecture of the Tensor G3 show it value on benchmarks.
Benchmarking software hadn't been updated for the new Pixels if what some reviewers mentioned is true. The ones who had it said they had to find some sort of work around to get it to do it.
as usual on benchmarks pixel is about 2 years behind other flagships in scores, some not so popular youtubers have done benchmarks by side loading the apps
@@avisingh1709 the benchmarks are decent around the Snapdragon 8 gen 2, a little lower score in multicore, 500 points less, and it google they have those AI cores the best in the industry, and also that extra efficiency core, not revolutionary but not bad compared to last year they catched up, Snap 6 gen 3 will be definitely more performant. Pixel 8 Pro is a solid phone, you could swallow the price in the US but in Europe with the export tax definitely not.
Should I leave my iPhone 13 Pro Max for this?
