Best intro in the history of rock and roll .. in my humble opinion
I can agree
Your humble opinion matches mine my friend. Thank you for helping keep rock alive!
👍
As somebody with a music degree I gotta agree this is a top 5 rock intro of all time
As someone from the Boston area that has seen concerts from A-Z, and two of the shows Boston did in a 5 night stay in Worcester, these boys rocked it. Brad you are greatly missed.
The bands from this era set the bar so high, it's no wonder today's bands suck, they just can't reach that level of musical genius. So much good music back then, so many joints, so much fun and so many memories!
The 1970s was the best decade for rock. The number of great bands and albums is astonishing. It will never happen again.
Is anybody reading this in 2022? I n my opinion the Boston debut album and Don't look back are two of the finest albums of the vynal that I used to have before I give them all to my nephew who lives down south . He used to have a band but now is a family man but still has a big interest in all kinds of music like myself. His latest project was converting my late father's 78's . My nephew has appeared on radio in Manchester but had to move to the London area to make it work with an oversees wife.🏴🤩🤭😁❤️
Huge shoes to fill!!! Singing with passion!!! I know Brad would be proud!! Thank you for keeping Boston alive!!!
I’m not proud….Brad being there would only make me proud
THIS IS (The) Quintessential ROCK and ROLL SONG. In fact after this SONG, you can just say it's ROCK or it ROCKS.
Nothing like being transported back to the late 70's!! Amazing performance!!
i so fortunate to see them coupe times , RIP brad
good performance !!.. the drummer is the best I've seen playing with Boston
Whenever I'm having a "not so good day", I can always listen to Boston and all troubles seem to fade away. I was so fortunate to get to see them in Charlotte, NC back in the early 2000's. I've loved them since I first hear them. They definitely need an induction into the R&R Hall of Fame! Keep Rocking guys!
what? it is still not fucking done?? gha...the RRAOF makes the proof again they're a fooking joke!!!
What? 'Boston' were never inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame?

A HEAP OF BS FOR SURE
Awesome track still gives me goosebumps. I recall walking into Record on Wheels in Toronto the owner a friend who has the same taste in music as I said Pete this just came in on import from the states ..played a few tracks was sold...the lp came out on radio 3 weeks later to the masses.....what a band....up the with UFO Scorpions and Queen
The vocals are just killer. Awesome😊
Boston, Journey and Rush were my bands growing up in the late 70s/early 80s
Absolutely stunning, bought this album In the 80s still sounds so great today, isn't it weird that 40 year on we still listen to this yet in 40 year s who will remember one direction or little mix
Best humbled music i ever grew up to..started ar 13
..60 today and still bring tears to my eyes with all the fkun memories..my god..❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Grew up listening to Boston, was 15 when their first album came out. Sad that Brads gone, of course, but that was awesome. That singer did a phenomenal job.
16 then - and yes. Awesome. Biggest regret was missing Third Stage tour. I was out of town (Phoenix) for medical trip in Frisco driving my ‘68 Gulfstream Aqua GT Fastback (I still have in side yard), but caught The Doobie Brothers reunion with all 13 living members (all 5 percussionists) and picked up a chick hitchhiking in my ‘male’ days. We were the first two at the gate for Mountain Aire ‘87 at now burned-down Angels Camp, Cali where Journey filmed famous “ESC4PE” concert. Huey Lewis and the News, who were huge with #1s on chart at the time, opened for them. Doobies blew them off the stage, News joined them for finale encore. I was literally front row center pressed against the outdoor iconic stage. Tyrone, the bass player handed me a literal doobie - lol. I didn’t smoke it. I stayed sober at all shows to remember them, except secondhand smoke at Grateful Dead’s final tour with Jerry Garcia - lol. Best concert of hundreds I’ve ever seen. So, missing Boston was still fortuitous, but I’d so love to have seen them live. Delp’s suicide hit me hard.💔
He did a s*** job
Man this guy does a great job singin' it.
Pure perfection and raw talent. Nothing today compares with real bands and 70’s music.
This version live is awesomome. Great !
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame wouldn't dare think of putting Boston on a ballot. Just about everyone aged 50-70 has had several copies of the debut record over the last 47 years.
Always amazes me there are men that can hit these tones. Brad Delp and Freddie Mercury just boggle the mind.
Amazes me just as much man!! Can't forget Mr. Perry of Journey ;)
Caleb Bartlett There is just nothing that can compare to this era of vocalists. This guy covers Delp real well
Rich Imbrogno this duo, rather!
Not Brad Delp as Delp passed away in 2007. It’s Tommy DeCarlo
Brad Delp was one of the best, no question.
It just pains me that BOSTON is not in the Rock & Roll of Fame!!!
Rock n roll hall of fame is dumb
I have NEVER seen any footage of Brad Delp singing as well as DiCarlo does in this video. Dayummmm..
That singer, has come into his own...Love him hate him, He has become the mainstay vocal tone we all remember and cherished! ROCK ON PEEPS!
First heard Boston when I was 5 (1977) and they are still my all time favorite band, their debut album was the first vinyl album I ever owned.
First of all, he's a hell of great singer. Monstrous. In sports or music, Boston (the city) fans are oh so picky and incredibly quick to criticize. Second of all, I remember this show and the video doesn't really catch the atmospherics of this. I was there. The crowd was on edge, super emotional, haggard, exhausted, completely choked up over the whole marathon bombings memory and just really really raw. There's no way to describe the release and huge emotions it called up at ~8:15 when those huge power chords rip.
That riff never fails to get me emotional. Same with the Peace of Mind one.
I love Boston I saw them in concert with the doobies. I was screaming so much at the concert that night woke up next morning I could hardly talk.. it was a fantastic night. 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟. Love them screaming guitar's it brings joy to my ears. Long time is my favorite song
We are all lucky to be around to hear Tom Scholz and Brad Delp. What an incredible loss.
To hear sir not. Here
@@rodneyhickman598 silly me.
@@guyparris4871 no problem. 😊😊
I just watched a bunch of Tom Scholl interviews. Then saw the interview with singer from Home Depot. Then watched this Video. So frikking awesome and inspiring. Still have chills. Blown away. They all sound amazing. This is real music
Dude...i just did the same thing! Lol
Tom and Brad.. Will.. Always be with.. Us.!! Thanks for keeping.. Boston.. Alive.. 2024 and.. FOREVER.!! Hell Yeah.. Mr Dilly.. Approved.!!!! 👍 🎸 😎 ❤️ 🤟
Quel groupe ! 👍👍👍 toute ma jeunesse merci Boston forever 🤩🤩
Le Lexington lab band a fait une superbe reprise également : je conseille ... Ciao
I remember playing a show with Gary Phil at at the Paradise in Boston back in the 90"s. He let me use his Marshal stack for my show. Very cool that I didn't have to unload my amps that night. He was a true guitar bro. Thanks Gary. You are a gentleman.
Dang the singer sounds magnificent!
Saw them in 88’ Still the best concert I’ve ever seen ! Started going to concerts in 78 and have seen everybody almost from AC/DC to McCartney to Elton John to Joe Satriani and these guys we’re still the best.
Totally agreed Mrgolf67 i've seen them 4 times, 3 with Brad, one with Michael Sweet in the "08 tribute tour.....still my favorite band always....
This will never get old thank you!
A great intro AND song. When I was training to qualify for the Boston Marathon, this was always on repeat.
Fantastic version.....drummer is incredible......fantastic sound and musicians....
Is this just an iteration they decided to do for this concert, or is there an actual studio recorded version, because the part at 1:50 sounds absolutely amazing
Awesomeness. ..Tom Scholz..on Guitar/Keyboards ...& Tommy De Carlo...does a great job..on The late great Brad Delp's vocals.
Way to go Tommy! Boston is back!
This song was the most popular tune at Roller World, in Tempe Arizona, when I was in Junior High School. It's energy is still unequaled. People would attempt very high jumps, flips, and spins, on rollerskates, when this song was played. Makes Ratt tunes seem like trite lullaby's.
They like most of the hair/glam bands were.
yassss the opening for this song gets me everytime, what a show - wow. Wish I could have seen them live. I was totally born in the wrong era #hippyatheart
Tom is a master of song and sound. And rare can we hear really good second voices like the guitar players
Cmon man this lineup is incredible! All male harmonies, some in the stratosphere!!
Love this Singer,Saw him doing Solo Boston. Was Great
This song will always have a special place in my heart
Singer is amazing !!brings back great memories
Четыре минуты... и это только вступление... Пинк Флойд отдыхает... Бостон -это что-то с чем-то!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I was lucky enough to see them in 1979 at the Texas World Music Festival. It was spectacular. It had just became dark and up out the stage comes this massive pipe organ with Tom behind it with a long fflowing cape and fog machine as he opens playing Foreplay/ Longtime. During their encore, they set the American Flag off in fireworks. Then Heart played. Concert was TKO, Sammy Hagar, Van Halen, Nazareth, Boston, Heart and Blue Oyster Cult. Quite the concert.
Keep on keepin the music alive, love it!
Freaking awesome keyboard. Never gets old
It's amazing that my local and biggest rock station in Canada had a hard time finding a Boston show to air. The one they finally found was less than perfect and the sound was no better. This is a pretty bang up job! 9:53
Damn the shivers come every single time!
Tommy DeCarlo can sing! SING IT TOMMY BOY! YEAH MAN!
Wow he does sound great
CRUSHING. thank you guys.
He's no Brad Delp but a pretty decent substitute. Plus, he's wearing a Larry Bird jersey in Boston, which goes a long way IMO.
Not bad for a Yankees fan...
No one is Brad rip
The guitar player was hitting those higher Melody notes though.
He's better than Brad
If you didn't know this was a different singer, you would think it's Brad, so don't say stupid shit. "He's no Brad Delp" 🙄🙄
The vocals and music all are really well done, I never imagined anyone really played this song remotely near the recording, I am proven wrong here. Nothing wrong with the vocals at all, you are looking to complain about something, you just haven't been honest with yourself yet.
The drummer killed it, best band ever!
He definitely rushed the song. The fills in Foreplay are too fast.
Videos exquisitamente buenos, en los 70s jamas pense que veria estos en concierto pero gracias a la tecnologia ,a RUclips y a ESTE CANAL nos es posible recordar la musica y lo mejor ver los videos MIL GRACIAS
I love to watch the drummer counting down the beats to the next big fill!
I love that Tom came up with these iconic guitar parts and is totally l cool with his hired guns playing them.
These parts were actually Barry Goudreau's creation in this case, and I'd say Pihl is more than a "hired gun", but I know what you mean.
Great performance
he has a great voice wow
really enjoy it, superb singer first big band substitution that i like
One of the best instrumental of all time
These guy's looked like they were having a great time doing these song's
Thank you, Taylor!
The most amazing phoenix story in rock history! Tom S is a wizard, Tom D is a true star - and the whole band is stunning.
Superb....just superb!!
Superb 😍
AWESOME CONCERT!!
Wow. Brad would be proud. Great vocal.
BOSTON FROM BOSTON GOOD SHOW ....
Tommy is such a great singer!!
Simply awesome
Yeah! Keeping the legacy alive in a great way...
Guys still kill it!
Thanks Tom! Thanks Tommy!
Miss you Brad , God Rest Your Soul Bro
Really like this one!
The keyboard on the song reminds me of a Mozart piano concerto
You got that right!!
Foreplay is absolutely orchestral, and Long Time makes me want to drive 1 million miles an hour
Awesome!
when are you coming to the UK.? IT'S BEEN SUCH A LONG TIME !!!!!
oooh boy ! LOVE that hammond !
Espectacular!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I seen Boston in concert after hearing them in concert!?
Brad Delp missing...
This is so cool!
Robert Plant is quite good on drums
Great stuff, Tommy does very good. This does tribute to Brad, as far as i'm concernd.
great fit for Brad..well done lads..how about a Canadian Date..perhaps Toronto plz..
SICK !
Love Tommy DeCarlo's story
JE REGARDE LES SPECTATEURS, IL N,Y A PAS DE PRIX POUR DES MUSICIENS DE CETTE QUALITE IL SONT HEUREUX DE LES VOIR DANS LEUR VILLE, BRAVO TOUT UN SPECTACLE ...
Forgot to add their latest vocalist to that list, although he is a distant second to the likes of BD and FM.
Well, just like with Journey and their new lead singer, Arnel Pineta, whose definitely not Steve Perry. Now, they're just a tribute band. As for Boston's new front man, he will NEVER be Brad Delp. How I miss the voices of Boston and Journey!!! Brad Delp, baby r.i.p., your #1 fan, JEANENE ENGLISH , from Birmingham, ALABAMA, is FOREVER holding you in my heart with all of the AWESOME MUSIC you blessed us with from the 70's & 80's. Just like Steve Perry from Journey, I'm your's "FAITHFULLY "!!!!🎤🎼🎶🎶♊❤💋🤟
Que tremendo ese sonido que le sacó al Rockman buen sustain Gary Phill
Im a huge Brad Demp fan. But this guy did him justice.
Great toons....boston wasnt a band. It was Tom S. He played. Recorded everything...look it up....
I've never heard the part at 1:50 before, but it sounds amazing
