Also, search iTunes or Spotify for his band NEON HIGH. Their debut album is called YOU. (Jon played all the instruments on that album too!) Видеоклипы
Who's watching this in 2024? Easily the best cover of this song I've seen on RUclips... wow !
Wayne. Agreed, so amazing. This is worth a listen too - ruclips.net/video/om-oM-gXPEs/видео.html
As a 57 year old, it just makes me so happy to see such young, INCREDIBLY talented musicians appreciate and perform flawlessly the music of my youth..
One kid playing them all.

How dare you make a cover version of the greatest rock and roll song ever written and then have the nerve to do such a fantastic job! Well done.
I commend you for your abilities and the efforts you put in but your guitar tone sounds like an #@#$ electric ham sandwich!!@
So...I'm 54 years old and remember the "Boston" album when it came out. Foreplay/Long Time is my favorite track on the album. Now....I'm also an amateur guitarist who has picked up the instrument after many years away. Hearing this young man's guitar playing just about makes me want to pack it in and take up golf. And...he plays, bass, drums, and keyboards well enough to hit this song out of the park. And let me add a big "holy shit" to the lead singer. Seriously great pipes and touch on a difficult song. Bravo guys. This really made me smile.
And one more thing. Props to "Jon" who is obviously and old soul when it comes to music.
I swear, I watch this video every couple of months. So damn awesome!
True that !
Metal Militia!!!!
There’s just something about it.
I love watching the incomprehensible drumming in Foreplay. I’ve been studying it for years. I think it’s some kind of paradiddle.
Same here. I keep coming back. I'm not even really a huge fan of Boston either.
@MetalJesusRocks, fancy seeing you here...I see that you are also a person of culture.
The fact that this still has a foothold in our hearts 💕almost 50 years later. Is incredible. But true. No one can ever take this away from us. Cheers y'all. See ya round
Brad Delp's greatness is demonstrated by the fact that it takes two voices to do what he did with one voice.
While that may be true, there were actually back up vocals on the original version of the song as well, so two or more people were going to be singing on that song anyway.
That was terrific. Hands down, one if the best covers of anything on RUclips.
This guy can play that many instruments that good; meanwhile I can walk and chew gum if the ground is reasonably level...
Well then, we should throw you a pfukcin parade or something.......(8^)
Sorry, just having some fun here.......
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
I only play one instrument, and I have to practice for several hours to get songs right!
😂😂💯 Same
Brad Delp was a good friend of mine, And he is looking down and has a big smile on his face!! GOOD JOB GUYS!! I'm going to send this to tom Scholz.
+keith carman Amen! These songs sound as fresh today as ever. I bought a guitar from Kimberly Dahm who plays bass for them now. They're still rockin!
I played in a Boston-area band, and also knew Brad (although I could not call him a good friend). I actually saw him perform the year he died (when he was singing mostly a Beatles set). It's just too bad that nobody saw it coming. The seventies was a decade of really great album rock, and great rock anthems, and this song here, and this album, definitely rank among the best. Brad's voice and Tommy's guitar created an amazing new sound that sounds fresh and clear to this day.
Yeah, I was gonna say that Tom really needs to hear those two singers. That kid on the high harmonies is scary. Ain't nobody with human DNA sings like that...
Keith - Tom would be so proud, to see a young man like he once was playing all the instruments. Tom is absolutely brilliant, and we miss Brad so much! Greetings from Canada.
Great job guys
I have watched this about a hundred times; best cover ever!
Same lol
I'm a big Boston fan, especially this song and I must say this was a pretty awesome job
Dude! The lead singer dude! You gave me chills hearing that hi note on the break. You sang it like Brad Delp and made the hair of my neck stand up! You guys rocked! Tom Sholz should be calling the lead singer to join Boston.
I got chills too
Its 1 guy
HE DOSE SOUND LIKE THE SINGER IN BOSTON
The singer is good doesn't sound anything like Delp but he captures his inflections nicely done. This is a Fantastic cover.
@@erikhafer1415 1 guy for instruments, 1 guy for lead vocals, backup vocals done by another
And; as a former Radio DJ and Program Director, having played the original hundreds of times I'll say that This Is The BEST "Cover" I've EVER heard.... Period!!!! The Equipment; processing, playing, hell - EVERYTHING is G R E A T !!!
Totally! And even Spencer sounded great!
Except the drums...i would blistard it!
100%!
This rendition of Boston Reminds me of a my USAF days in Okinawa, Japan. It is a long tail. I was stationed there for 6 years.. over time my reputation for caring for my Airman... as I was a step higher in rankage... LOL... I never knew. After 6 years there... I was leaving for the Pentagon, Hand selected to clean up a mess Eight years before saving the Tax payers $550,000 a year in in Phone and circuit bills... but I will never forget a Sergent from Boston and his band there... all USAF and perfectionist too... I was leaving and was invited to a club off base they played at off GATE 2, Kadena, Air Base... I could choose any Rock tune... RUSH, LED Zep, Styx, Boston... and they were perfectionist.. Absolutely Spectacular! Each Tune was as if in a recording studio... or off the original ... Spirit of Radio and This song too... they played to perfection for me.. I hated to leave for the Pentagon... Those guys are the best... too. Great Music is truly inspirational and Generational... Nothing can compare to what we had for musician in the 60's and 70's.... or even before in the 1700 or 1800... Music today SUX ever since... Big Bands...WTF happened? Anyway.. It is an experience I will never forget, better than going to a concert. Just being with people who really respect you as a person and you never knew how much you helped them.. sort of thing.. because in the Military.. you take care of each other.. as in.." Do unto others as you would do unto yourself". It works... wonderfully at times...we respected and worked great together... I love and miss you guys... 1997... Huuu Rahh.
Im a HUGE Boston fan. And being that Im aware of the immense talents of Delp and Scholtz. This was simply awesome.
I loved listening. Please keep it up. REAL TALENT here.
Over a year later, decided to boot this video up again and it brought tears to my eyes. Don't know why. Amazing work. I don't think music has ever made me emotional like this has. Thank you.
Because this shows us that real music will rise again. It's happening.
I never thought someone could ever cover a Boston song and it still sound as good as Boston themself, I can say I was MORE then wrong, cause this was beautiful
Good enough to be a BOSTON trib act Good vocalist, prob 80% of what Delp was. Thats a HUGE complement :) Nice work !!
my heart skipped a beat when I saw that Rickenbacker bass.
rickys are the best
Geddy? Is that you?
This just gave us a glimpse of how Tom Scholtz must of recorded this..... AMAZING thank you
Brad Delp is a legend and this is a great rendition in his honour. The vocalist and the instruments did justice to the song...❤
It kills me to hear so called professional sound engineers and others critique this. How about show us how much better you are with a video reply. 638,859 views.....ya better get busy. Two clicks on a knob...really? I love this and it's perfect. These are a couple of teenagers. And amazing support from a great dad!
+GrandpappyJim Used to be a couple of teens. BTW I also love the Pink Floyd work you are doing.
GrandpappyJim great jobs guys!!
GrandpappyJim Hey, idiot... positive criticism will actually help them get even better and more advanced in all areas of production. There's nothing wrong with pointing some things out that could be improved while at the same time appreciating their work, effort and great performance. And the sound IS a little thin, lacking some bottom, particularly on the drums, but still a great job. I've been a guitarist for 36yrs (in several bands) and have also done a lot of sound engineering, both live and in recording studios.
I loved it, but the guitar "sound" (not the playing) was a little too buzzy. Maybe he should have recorded through a Tom Scholz Rockman or a Marshall amp with a Scholz Powersoak. And just for those who will ask for "proof" and links ..... here ya go:
SCHOLZ No. They were always done with a prototype of my Power Soak power attenuator, at low volume, through a standard cabinet close-miked with an Electro-Voice RE16. I was using mostly a Marshall head that sounded like doo-doo on its own, but with a Crybaby wah pedal, an EQ and these old Maestro Echoplex tape delays in front of it, it sounded really good. It was noisy as hell, so I’m sure that I was getting some preclipping before it got to the head. For guitars, I had two Gold Top Les Pauls that both sounded very similar, and that was it.

Considering Jon was about 17 when he did this( he gave his age on a Vancouver radio station ,Rock 101 at the time), it's very impressive.
Has it really been 12 years!! I come back to this version. Of the classic Boston sound. Thanks for keeping it going.
Excellent job! One of my favorite songs right here!
Such a freaking amazing song :D
This still slaps in 2022
only a true music nerd would dare attempt covering this, and what a fine job you did!!!
I am from Manchester NH. Brad Delp lived here. H was a good friend of mine. I man that was taken from us to early.....There isn't a day goes by that I don't wonder..........What if? RIP Brad. You guys do the song Justis
David Steele sounds so much like Mickey Thomas -- I would love to hear Jon's one man band do a cover of "Find Your Way Back."
chasnsx, unfortunately for this sone he needs to sound a little more like Brad Delp.
Please do ( Jane ) by Starship your voice would go well with the music and you can get a little gritty with those vocals .
Kudos on them vocals FOR sure, I had to laugh cuz you didn't want to hit that ass end note at the end of the song, can't say I blame ya! Phenomenal job people!! Excellent song choice, YES!👍😎✌❤
You nailed it. Definitely in this guy's wheelhouse.
What a great tribute to Boston !!!! Amazing talent, amazing vocals, and great job Jon !!!!! Never seen someone play everything so well !!!! I can only imagine how much work went into this project !!!
The vocals are so superior to anything Boston sounds like today. Very nice!
So much talent on one of the best classic rock songs of all time. Thanks for sharing.
This video and performance should have MILLIONS of views. This was a very impressive performance and I am amazed!
The kid singing harmony puts a big Damn smile on my face. Awesomeness!!!
AWESOME.........Tons of talents, great playing, great vocals....... Congratulations guys ....!!! Super job !!!
This song is an old favorite of mine when I was a teenager. Now that I'm approaching my 60s and I "try" to play guitar as a hobby, I have really learned to appreciate the absolute magical talent of the musicians back in the day, and if I had 1 /10th the talent these guys have, I'd be a hundred times better than I am now. With that said, If ever had a band, I would have all these guys in it. They are flat out awesome period.
Firstly, what a talented guy to not only put the tracks together to create such an amazingly accurate cover of the song but to play all the instruments as well. And OMG...that lead singer is dead on. I could listen to that man forever. Amazing highs and so beautifully sung. Nice job guys. Loved it.
That's the best cover I've ever heard. The vocals were just perfect, he needs to get a job with Boston! And the playing of all those instruments, incredibly close sound to what Tom does with his - The only limitation really is recreating something he's spent ages perfecting. But you captured the spirit and energy of the song, of Boston, perfectly.
Blown away. Such musicianship! Really fantastic job. Thank you!
Totally nailed it.
No fricking way!! This is so awesome!!! Boston forever!! 😍😍😍😍
When this song comes on my Bose Equipt corvette convertible, everyone for an eight mile stretch listens to it!!!! Spot on guys!!! 👍🙋♂️🖖🏻
One Gazzilion Thumbs up!
Hands down the BEST version on RUclips.
The vocals are spot on!
Holy shit.. this is beyond amazing
Got to give it up to Boston for making such a kick ass song for someone to strive to duplicate. Then to see that kid play it to perfection is amazing. I have to say i really dig the singer and back up, works well with his video. Favorite part is still watching him drum. Best is about 2;27 when the singer is digging the perfect intro.
A bunch of young guys just mashing this up. Outstanding
all I got to say is WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! amazing cover. Boston would be proud👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I'm a huge boston fan, Used to be in a garage band 40 years ago, but you really made me smile. Great job, love to hear this music being played by another generation. you nailed it.
Oh my God I wish I could do that myself. Thank you guys for the hard work, the love for Boston and the art of rock music.
This guy should be rich by now. Very talented young man at the time. It does my heart good to see this cover.
Taking my kids on a road trip in a few weeks and this song is on my roadtrippin' playlist. May it live on with the next gen! :)
Gotta spread the appreciation of the classics to the next generation!
I watched this when it was first uploaded. I'm not sure who recommended it to me but it made me interested in Boston which in turn made me fall for Boston and rock in general. So glad I found this at a young age almost 9 years ago that's insane
I was 13!
EXCELLENT work!! everything was outstandingly brilliant!!
The original Long Time is the mic drop of all rock songs, and this cover is the mic drop of covers. Nailed it.
The beginning of this song remains one of my favorite moments in music history. Amazing song. Well done
Dude. I mean I don't even... Easily top 3 of most impressive things I've seen in my life, and this is coming from a music snob.
I was really impressed with the one man band, but I thought... the vocals will probably be underwhelming. Then, boom. One of the best vocal performances ever! I mean, I don't even know how this is humanly possible!
Great job! So impressive!!!
The vocals blew me away, incredible job Mr. Steele
I am a musician. I only say this because I hope you appreciate the comments from someone who understands. This is the best cover I have EVER seen. Brilliant… absolutely amazing. Have watched it for years.. showed friends and colleagues, has always had the same effect. Amazed, impressed, and humbled . Nice job! 😊
Three minutes in every hair on my body stood up and stayed there!!! How have I not seen this till now? As for some of the other comments, only Brad Delp sounds like Brad Delp and sadly, that's no longer an option. What IS an option though is creating a very respectful yet still individual rendition of a complex, intricate and demanding song! Now just add another 20 or so layers of guitar for full Scholz effect........Awesome!!!
That was outstanding! I am very impressed. Nice work and attention to the original. Tom and Brad, rest his soul, would be happy with that mix.
I'm absolutely speechless. Excellent performance!
Jon, drums and organ are on point! Great vocals from Spencer and David. Truly badass guys.
Flashback Saturday - 14 years ago I listened to this! You’ve got a talented boy, I’m sure you’re very proud. 👏🏻🙂
F--- Almighty! That is a very hard cover and you nailed it! Great job!!! I detect a little Mickey Thomas in that voice Spencer..
Incredible. Spot on!!!
I remember when this song came out....1976....you guys rock! Thank you, and Aloha
Reminiscent of how it all started with Boston. One man then to go out on tour he needed a band so he put the guys together to learn what he did in the studio. Fantastic job!
OMG- that was awesome, impressive, great .................................
Absolutely SUPER!!!!
Best cover on RUclips. Great job guys, you have earned a sub and a like :D
I remember "Bag" from our days at 1150 CKIQ Kelowna...the man could do amazing things with a two track recorder...you have taught your son well Dale...Smi
I realize this is 14 years ago, but I just came across this. WOW. That was unreal. I mean...I am just so blown away by one persons complete talent. Thank you for sharing this with the world. I am looking forward to searching for more of what you done and I have missed all this time.
What a great job and a fantastic song! All of you were awesome!
Seriously??? Holy crap that was amazing!!!
I listen to this several times a day 'cause it so good!
Hands down. The best cover for such an amazing song. Thanks for sharing your talents.

WOW!!! This is by far, the best video that I've ever seen on youtube and I have over 600 videos myself.
WTFF did I just watch? Eleven years ago?My God was THAT cool!!! Man how I wish I could do ANY of that..I mean,Brad Delp had a voice unlike any other but to be able to sing his songs,in that range,up THERE and sound just like him,is to me, absolutely unbelievable...Wow..Bravo
Just saw Boston in concert at The Forum and I have to say that rendition was the bomb. Nice job guys.
Ok holy shit this is good. Words cannot describe how I feel about this song. NAILED IT!!!
Freakin AWESOME!!!
Boston covers got me here-absolutely stunning! Mad props to all involved 👊🏻✌🏻
Magic. Best Boston cover IMO. Well done!
Totally awesome!😀
Now this is What I'M talking about. Great job. I listened to some other groups doing Boston, and I had to thumbs down them. Off key vocals and missteps with instruments. Must say I really liked you guys. The Boston sound but not a carbon copy. You made it your own but kept the integrity of the song. I really appreciated the musician s gift. Your just a pure talent. Max job on this. To the lead vocalist. You have a really crystal good voice. You have a pure clarity in your voice. Your range is impressive. I would say I just love it, but love is over used. Your voice is moving. Nuff said bout that. I'M feeling a little creepy now lol. I'M looking forward to hearing more you this band. ROCK ON.
Just came back to watch this video after 9 years. I remembered being wowed by it back then and when I was just listening to the original Boston song, I remembered this video. Still amazing
Everytime I hear this song, it gives me goosebumps, such an excellent performance!
This is amazing dude. Rock on.
As a professional audio engineer... dude! David Steele needs to message the guys with Boston! you're the closest thing I've heard to Brad, since, well, Brad... This song really touches his range, seriously, you should at least be in a cover band...
also, Dale,
dude, too much buzz in the distortion, dial it back from 11 to like 9 and you've got it nailed...
I know Tom's amp settings and you've nearly nailed them for a strat, just compensate for the added midrange of the single coils and you'll get it.
Otherwise, you got the album correct chord structure
Keep coming back to watch this video and sing along with David and Spencer. I just can't get enough of this right now
Damn....! That was so good!
I graduated in 1976 and I'll give you one guess who my favorite band was. At 66 now, you boys took me back to a great time in my life.
🤘🤘
Wow amazing guys.lead singer, gotta hand it to you, brad is one singer that is hard to duplicate, and you guys aren't even asian! haha.
...and he racked up yet another subscriber...
awesome-playing all the instruments is so talented-
Superb. Absolutely stunning talent to be able to play all those instruments at that level.
