Great meeting you today at the Route 66 sign. Thanks for letting me get a photo with your new sports car! Really enjoyed chatting with you. Lovely Porsche you had. Best wishes.
Congrats Doc! That's a great story! I fell in love with the 914 when I was 9 years old and bought my first 914 when I was 12 for $300. I still have it today some 23 years later and plan to keep it my entire life.

Wonderful. Would love to drive a classic Porsche in your part of the world. The roads, the nature; look so much more enchanting than here in Berlin, Germany. What we have in common is: Porsche.
Hello, John -- you "frog." One of the 11 or so cars which I currently own on the PC game, "Need For Speed: Porsche Unleashed" is also a 1973 Porsche 914 2.0. I've 'souped it up' a little adding a little 'bling' but not so much as to veer from its factory presets; hence, it still feels and drives similar to the base, stock version: I've added horsepower increases, slightly better brakes (a 'semi-pro' braking package) -- no sway bar as none is needed...but semi-sport shocks and springs so it isn't quite as 'bouncy' and also better handling. I've painted my '73 914 a medium orange lacquer -- with blue and white pinstripes which straddle the top of the car from back to front. The result is that in terms of both body design and paint scheme -- this is akin to my "Dukes of Hazard" Porsche vehicle... It is reasonably fast -- not too fast -- has excellent handling and is fun to drive...
When I got my ‘73 914 2.0 in 1986, there was little public enthusiasm for the 914. “Just a Volkswagen” is what I heard countless times. I knew otherwise. There were no glamorous videos. The dealer didn’t want to sell me parts. Things have sure changed!
She’s a beauty Doc great to meet you today 6/8/24
YES!! I love this guy and his attitude ! I wish more Porsche owners were like this. Great video, car and owner.
I love your 914 story!
Great man!

So, how many miles are on the clock?
Cool video. How many miles does the 914 have?
"The Faszination" in german is "Die Faszination" (feminine) not "Der Faszination" (masculine). Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪

THESE CARS ARE STILL INEXPENSIVE FOR BETTER OR WORSE
Faszination is female in German ;) - Die Faszination
Please pronounce Porsche correctly. You've driven one for over 45 years. Please!
Porsche, a two syllable word. Shoulds like "por-sha". Ortherwise, people will think you drive a VW.
It would be interesting how you pronounce VW then
@@less_vanity5820 That would be "Fau Vey" or something close to that.
