yes sir I found my 914 abandoned on a street in Chicago. I took it home, restored it, and love it 20 years later.
their loss!!!
Great story... I have had 6 or 7 of them in my time (depends on if you count a parts car). I think the 914 is the best car ever made.
Lovely story. Yet to own a 914 but has long been a dream ride. The perfect mash of man and mechanics - all that the driving experience should be. Your grandfather would be proud.
What an awesome tribute to your grandfather ,👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Well done, well done indeed. My parents drove our good family friend's Porsche 914 from Victoria, to Grande Prairie Alberta. It was not the road trip they expected. It was winter. It was cold, under powered for the Rockies and Mum was just glad to get this favour done and get home. lol She loved road trips just not in this car. It did break down once but Dad was able to get it going again. He was in his glory. The car looked exactly like Aaron's. Brought back memories for me as well. Really well done. :D
Floored. You guys are such great storytellers, that was SO WELL done. Thank you.
I've always believed that the story of a car is as important as the car itself. Well done, thank you.
Thanks for sharing!
Wonderful story!

Beautiful story and car. Thanks for sharing. Thinking about getting one myself.
Wow! ..I have alot of memories with the 914 growing up my older sister had a beautifully restored '74 ( I think ) orange with gold bbs rims.. what a piece of history..
Thanks for sharing
Don't know if anyone will care about my 66 Mustang I bought in 1970 like he feels about his grandfather's 914 but it is a car with memories. Excellent production.
Awesome! And yes, it is not always all about speed only.
Great video, family story, and car! A trifecta
Great story, great car!
Great film, thank you for sharing!
Well Done and Thank you.
Great story! Your grandfather would be very proud of you. Glad to see another one of these wonderful cars staying in the road.
Damn guys, nice job - wonderfully shot. 914 is in my top 4 list.
Aaron you are definitely keep Grandpa alive by keeping this car going. This is what it's all about.
Great story and history, you're making your grandfather proud, we should all be so lucky!
Great video
Beautiful Story Classic Porsche Awesome cinematography.. Quite a Masterpiece .
Very nice job.
Yes,
Great description of “intentional driving) mine (‘76 ) is the same input. The must be driven with smooth momentum.
Loved it. The story itself was cool and the way you guys shot it and put it together was just so cool.
It's not just people that have soul and memories. The sight, sound and scent of a treasured vehicle can evoke a very special feeling.
Happy travels.
Collectively a great presentation of an awesome story of family and the love of vehicles. Great job to you all !!!!!!! Thank You.
Yes I had a 1973 same color with American racing wheels yes keep the revs up it is 50/50 best handling car ever maid by Porsche
I owned a 1972 Porsche 914 and alsolutely loved it. Nobody mentions what Found was the most remarkable feature of the car, that was no tilting forward under braking. The rear of the car sunk down under braking giving the most solid feel to the car. Handling was exceptional! Unfortunately I had a young family and no money to restore it. I watch this video and dream!
You guys. This is AMAZING. I can NOT tell you how happy and excited I was to see this pop up. This is literally the convergence of all kinds of things in my life. I have been a VW fanatic for a long time and loved following your journey with Ripley. You guys are great, honest, funny, and my favorite to watch. Now this? My first VW love was actually a 1972 914. This video captures all of it. I love it. Do more. MORE NOW. Please. Great work, please keep it up. Literally made my day. Cannot express how true this is. THANK YOU.
Thanks for sharing this story!
Great story, I love my 1975 1.8L. Enjoy
Well Done!!!

Lovely story and film, what a gorgeous car! X
What a really professional film. A joy.
Awesome!
Outstanding guys, nailed it!
Great video! Thanks for sharing your story.
great job guys....
Dynamo story. I have a 73'in my collection. Very under appreciated motor car. Well done.
Damn man, right in the feels.....
Really wish you both would start making content again. You are very much missed.
I've always wanted a 914 since riding in new one belonging to a friend back in 1975. The 914 was always been treated as the red-headed step child of Porsche by the purest, but not any longer. The prices on these neat little cars have skyrocketed. My grandson is two years old. I just purchased his first car for him - a 914! But I get to enjoy it for 14 mores years before I have to hand over the keys!
Enjoyed that, very slick, reminds me of the petrolicious channel.
Thanks!!
Beautiful!
Great video. Love the 914.
Very well done. I always enjoy your video's and like the new style/ format, mixing it up a bit. Can't wait for what's next.
🔥🔥 I don't know if Petrolicious takes video submissions, but if so you should definitely send it over. It would fit right in. Beautiful!
Perfect time of day for the drive you enjoyed, I could smell the air, and hear the tires catch the corners. I’m grabbing my keys!
Hey Aaron, that,s my neck of the woods! below Lords hill Snohomish
Two thumbs full send!
Dang. Start a petrolicious style channel and I will follow.
LOVE IT!
Grandpa must've been one cool cat! My grandfather barely spoke English and was a cattle farmer. I doubt that he ever saw a Porsche.
My fav Porsche, but not there first mid engine! 👍👏🤙
Great story I've lost it for a 9143 when a neighbor picked me up and gave me a ride to football practice had an opportunity to buy one in 95, a 6 cylinder but the thing was beat. On the test ride the front flew open and smashed the windshield. The owner said damn I knew I made that too tight I'll make you a hell of a deal and I backed up. Looking back probably should have taken the deal but finally purchased a 71 Geminiblue 4 cylinder. A California car
More video in winter .
heads straight to google: "porsche 914 for sale"
Maaaaaagestic!
Petrolicious inspired? Nice video.
Yep. Maybe they’ll hire us to do the same thing but for Overland rigs 🤔🙌
What happened to these peeps? I remember watching the troopy vid and some of their vanagon videos almost a year ago now they haven't posted in 9 months:(
Bought wife 75 1.8 with appearance group ( console, gauges, blacked out bumpers etc ) Ran flawlessly for 110k . Had valve job and sold it for what we paid for it 5 years later too the 1st guy who who saw it
How tall are you? I was a bit surprised you could fit into the 914.
Might want to check valve clearance...Have had my 72 914 for 30 years..
My moms best friend passed & we inherited one… & restored it in his name & man is it a good little zippy car
Kinda ride thT grow,s on ya in a good way
Work on a 914-6, rebuild the engine to a 911-s+ ,redid the brakes, shocks, rims and tires, repaint,it out ran, and out handles any 911
Great Petrolicious video...oh wait
Grandpa paid a little for that one: chrome bumpers, fog lights, rear window defroster, vinyl top, console box, leather wrap wheel, push button radio(?) It has adjustable passenger seat, thought 72 still had the non-adjustable seat?
You’re correct, passenger seat isn’t adjustable. This was the “appearance” package-less than 500 of that style were sold in the US.
My father had one, it fell of the lift in the shop.
I just bought my grandson a 1973 2.0. I'll show him how to wrench it before I pass. He has been warned to ditch his iphone and bone up on what us old guys know about these cars.
Nice. But but put the wheels back to stock and get rid of the bumper guards and silly sticker. The luggage rack is cool though!
Rad.
Yo you still alive, hope all is well, but on another note what happened to the videos ?
Yo! All is well. Look under the playlist tab for all the old videos. You will find what you seek there.
@@LiveWorkWander I meant new videos, take no offense for what I'm about to say, but your still breathing, so why not take the opportunity to continue to create new content and might I add great content in my opinion

Very.... Petrolicious.
Thanks!!
Is it a Porsche or VW does not have the Porsche looks, great Story either way
I am told that in Germany the 914 carries both Porsche and VW emblems.
Porsche phoned that one in.
Even the 914/6 wasn’t very powerful with only 110 horsepower from its 911T based 2.0 liter flat six.
Get rid of the rack on the trunk please...Such a beauty
You know everybody is giving you praise for a well done short. But did everyone forget there are no fat sounds to accent the commentary.
No but really great job.
I have a story to tell if you are interested in a civil rights labor leader and union organizer from 1929
Petrolicious
Thanks!!
The wheels need to be changed to the original.
Do you think you are finished with this YT channel? I’m looking to thin the herd as my list of subscriptions is growing out of hand. First world problems I know.
Great video but your history is a little off on the vw to Porsche relationship.
Damn man, right in the feels.....
