As someone who occasionally needs a wheelchair; the kill where he goes down a massive flight of stairs backwards is the scariest shit in any horror movie I've seen.

It’s crazy that Jason became so incredibly iconic despite being mostly frowned upon by the production team of the first movie!
They kinda ended up copying Michael Myers though and people love that kind of stuff
True but Micheal had mental issues with as a kid which led to his killing spree, and his first kill was his sister. Jason’s story is a haunted camp when he drowns and wants revenge at his mother death from the first movie..both were creepy as shit

Honestly, Part II Jason is definitely one of my favourite Jasons, he seems like a real serial killer to me, especially when he physically beats people up and gets beat up himself. He seems more like a real flesh and blood person to me. I also really like the fact we can see his eye, it’s honestly kinda creepier then just two soulless, black holes. There’s no mystery, he’s looking right at you.
And he’s living off the land and hunting animals and living off the land in his homemade cabin like a hermit type with a shrine to his mother who was killed by campers but he’s a serial killer..he’s definitely feels more fleshed out than the mindless killer he became in later movies.
Well he never really got beat up he always out wrestled Paul but he just got saved before he beat him again. I think it’s just more of he doesn’t have superhuman strength

this is exactly what i've been saying! all those things about this version of Jason makes us remember that he's an actual human trying to kill those people, and to me that makes it scarier. he feels like a real serial killer and not just some ooga-booga monster.

I always found that line haunting and that scene, along with the shot of Jason running towards the shack, raised the bar for this FT13 entry.
Especially because they do such a good job of not really showing Jason but you almost can see him or where he should be. Also, why would she scream that again rather than "RIGHT BEHIND YOUUUU".

Speaking of Survivors, What about Ted? The guy survived Friday The 13th Part 2 By leaving the movie, if you didn’t see, a small party at a diner was going on, and instead of going back to camp, Ted stays to keep having fun at the party, and he’s never seen again. Making him a survivor.

I'm glad he's doing a recount of this series, he's much more enthusiastic now, and I love it.
The thing I love about this channel is James not only counts the kills, but also gives us little facts and backstory on how the movie was made.
Imagine having to pretend to be murdered after you were almost murdered. Props to her for still being able to enjoy horror/being in horror, that must be hard to do.

I like to imagine Jason absorbed Paul, gaining his ability to teleport. Paul teleported quite a bit in Part 2, and after Part 2, human Jason had a few instances of teleporting, before being reanimated kicked his teleportation into another gear.

Mark and Vicky was my all-time favorite Jason victim couple and I was pretty bummed out that they had to die. Pretty awesome to know that Vicky's actress had a thing for Mark's actor in real life.
I was thinking. Everyone was unhappy that Jason was the killer because he drowned right. Well at the end of #1 the cops literally say "we never found a boy" and our final girl said "the he's still there" that in and of itself is enough to encourage a sequel with a Jason killer.

I love how james glances over the fact that jasons actor went to the hospital with a fake machete in his shoulder as a prank shows a picture and keeps going

Jason actually survived the accident and crawled into the woods where he lived off the land until somehow learning that his mother was at the camp. He ran to see her but arrived just in time to see her beheaded, this combined with the accident and the obvious bullying from the kids at the camp told him that camp crystal lake was a place of evil and had to go
This does begs the question: why didn’t he went and see her immediately after surviving?
I like to think, in the chaos of that day, he was pulled from the lake by Crazy Ralph, kept hidden and abused until adult Jason was able to Escape and take his revenge. . .. . . . . .
@@Malum09 I think the answer depends on how far you're willing to reach. It could be explained as Jason possibly not knowing just how large Camp Crystal Lake truly was, causing him to get lost/turned around long enough to think that perhaps his mother had abandoned him.

I gotta watch a lot of these old movies, but damn. That scene of Jason running toward the cabin where you can just see him through the window is awesome and terrifying. Mostly just because the idea of Jason running on its own is terrifying.
He runs in parts 2, 3, 4 and the reboot.
One of my favorite little details about this movie is that the decomposing body next to Terry in Jason's shack is almost certainly Alice, as you can see an ice pick still sticking out of its head

The fact that the filming process led to so many injuries and so much frustration for cast members is quite upsetting. A lot of people clearly didn't know what they were doing when they were making this movie.
Props for knowing what a garrote is and using the word correctly. For the uninitiated, the garrote was a favored weapon of trench raiders during the Great War along with knives, clubs, and even shovels, since standard issue rifles were not effective in close quarters and there was quite the shortage of pistols. I love a good garrote kill.
All that’s required is a simple Google search.

In Part 2, a girl kicking Jason in the nuts floors him. In Freddy vs Jason, Freddy breaks his foot after landing a kick in the same area while Jason is unphased.

"Dull side of a machete"
Funny thing is there is a machete type blade that, when in use, looks like the dull side is doing the cutting. It's called a "Billhook" and in the NECA figure for Part II, they added what moreso resembles a billhook in place of the machete as one of the accessories.
There...really isn't any real reason to share this information, but here we are 🙂

I love how human jason feels in this movie. he is not yet a seemingly immortal and supernatural being he can still be hurt
Up until Friday VI he was still a human, but from then on he was an intelligent murder zombie and thus pretty supernatural. His face is pretty fucked up in Friday IV, though, so maybe they were already leaning toward monster Jason by then.

What undercuts Ginny’s character and her thoughts on Jason and just the ultimate tragedy of Jason and Mrs. Voorhees (in that originally they both seemed to be tragic victims that got really screwed over by life) is the comic called “Pamela’s Tale” which had them both be portrayed as nuts: Pamela can “hear” Jason while he is inside of her belly, Jason kills a cat later and pins it to a tree.
Isn't that the comic where after Pamela kills Annie in the original she talks to her corpse? The comic sounds like it missed the point of Pamela and Jason entirely. Pamela was a normal mother who snapped after Jason's apparent drowning and was willing to do anything to shut Camp Crystal Lake down. And Jason was a once good kid who after constant bullying for his deformities, nearly drowning, having to survive on his own for 20 years in the woods then seeing Alice kill Pamela sent him over the edge.

I felt like the original Friday the 13th should have just ended right after Corpse Jason jumps out and pulls Alice in the lake. Basically symbolizing Pamela Voorhees’s vengeful soul transferring into her Son’s body right after her death so she can continue killing using Jason as a vessel or something, hence why he’s the killer in part 2.
They didn't know that the film was going to get a sequel until after it had such a strong box office take, I suspect the reveal that it's all a dream was a late addition because they didn't feel like the supernatural element of an out-of-nowhere zombie Jason would be a good conclusion. Or the movie might have run too short and they needed to get it to feature length, that's also possible. The ending itself was already a late addition.
I always liked the Freddy vs Jason Vs Ash comic suggest Pamela may have used the Necronomicon. A fan theory suggests that her killing may have been part of the ritual.
I've always subscribed to her using the Necronomicon to resurrect him and part of her reason to keep ppl away from the camp grounds in part 1, aside from her insanity, was to hide Jason from anyone finding him out there. He witnessed his mom being killed at the end of part 1 from a woodline or something and that's what set off his campaign of mass murder. Also why he knew who to track down and kill at the beginning of pt 2.
So in my head canon, adult Jason is chilling in his shack in the woods the whole time during part 1.

For the how Jason never drowned part, I think what happened was Jason was either scared or ashamed and ran away to live in the woods for the next couple decades.

I stand by my statement on how horror movies suddenly killing the previous main character is really lame. Also a shame how badly the actress seemed to be treated on set.
I always feel sad about that too especially the likes of Laurie Strode who is too badass to die. Thank god there's a remake. I hope Adrienne King is doing well. Poor woman.

@@marybonner7432 I think that's one reason she came back for the 2018 film, Kills and Ends. Because she didn't want people's last memory of Laurie to be her stupidly falling for Michael being another innocent man with that film's dumb retcon of it being a paramedic Laurie decapitated at the end of H20 instead of Michael, getting caught in her own trap and killed after Michael stabbed her and threw her off a roof.

I like Sac head Jason, after seeing so many Hockey masks it got a little boring but the Sac is unique and different. The Sac also reminds me of the real life Phantom Killer.
i’d say it’s actually the opposite. there are several killers that use the burlap sack mask but jason’s the only one to ever use a hockey mask so to me the hockey mask is much more unique.
@@ellis7622 Yeah I guess the word I was looking for was Refreshing, after watching the Friday movies in a row the hockey mask just seems boring but I guess in the grand scheme of things when you count all horror movies in general then the hockey mask is more unique.
Mr McBear yeah i know what you mean. if a new slasher movie were to come out and the killer was wearing a hockey mask everybody would immediately think of jason, it’s so iconic at this point.
