Everything you listed in this video I would not have believed you 7 months ago. But your videos and posts got me through recovery and I can not thank you enough. Because of you, I am so close to full recovery. Every one should listen to what you say, and truly take it to heart. I wish I could give you a hug, Emily. Thank you so much for your help!! Xoxo
Oh goodness Breena, this is the most wonderful thing to read and I am SO proud of you for the work YOU have put in to be marching firmly towards that place of ED freedom. I am thrilled to know that my sharing has played a supportive role in this for you but never forget that it is YOUR boldness, and braveness, and commitment to the DOing that has, and is, setting you free. Thank you for sharing and here's to recovery! xx
Thank you Emily!!. Your channel is making such a difference to my recovery journey. I am just starting my recovery and am watching you every day for motivation and strength
This is incredible, thank you so much! The main motivation for me to recover is to be able to have children again, and then to never ever let my children suffer from an eating disorder. I never want to instil eating disorder behaviours on any children I have in the future. I also have realised recently that it is far more empowering to be able to fuel your body however you want to, as opposed to it feeling empowering to restrict your body. If I never recover, it is me and an eating disorder for life - and man, that truly sounds miserable.
This was a lot, but good and many things resonated. I will keep trying so eventually I can get to where you are too. It just might not be next month I'm there so that is the hard part. Thank you though. Always love that unit in the background! X
The freedom is worth the fight, and every step you take away from ED is valid and valuable in your journey to recoverED. Really pleased the video resonated and thank you- its something I got second hand and fell in love with it the moment I saw it :) x
Spontaneity is one thing that hasn't changed through out my life, I've always hated it, pre ED and post - guess we're all different - i think the lack of spontaneity is neurodiversity related for me and that's unlikely to change
Whilst there are lots of area's of recovery why's that overlap for people, there are also many that are unique to each individual and their own personal journey. Lean into YOUR why's and gather up the glimmers along the way that resonate with the life YOU want to be living and the person YOU want to be. We are indeed all different :) x
I think for me l actually had to start doing recovery anyway before I experienced enough of life again to make any reasons meaningful. It is scary and requires a lot of trust in something that you don't really know will ever happen, but I know it will happen for you at some point if you take consistent recovery actions
I've been sort of doing quasi recovery for around two weeks now and I've deficiently increased my food intake/ate a lot more fear foods. I don't weigh myself anymore, but I'm starting to notice that my face is looking a whole look more fuller and rounder, and my jawline looks less prominent than before? Is this just recovery edema/effects of the junk food? Does anybody else relate to this effect whilst being in recovery, I really hope it isn't all just fat and that it's just a temporary part of recovery.
Your weight will initially go to your face, mid section and sometimes your ankles and wrists may become swollen. Please note that this is TEMPORARY!! The weight will redistribute once your body knows that food is consistently coming through overtime . It’s just a small physical hurdle to push through. But think of the lifetime of freedom that will come afterwards 🎉❤
Im 2 months into recovery and recently I was diagnosed with insulin resistance. Everyone says I should have a low carb diet and exercise, but im not even recovered and weight restored yet. What should I do? Is it temporary?
Hi Daisy, thank you for sharing and I feel it's important to start with stating that I am not in a position to give personal and/or medical advice so encourage you to seek support with this from medical professionals with experience of the recovery process. What I will say though is that insulin resistance is a symptom which can occur in association with the re-feeding process for a variety of reasons and that, like with many of the symptoms associated with recovery, the solution lies not in restriction, but in continued nutritional rehabilitation. Hope this provides some support and thank you again for sharing xx

thank you for this beautiful and positive video, very motivating for recovery! It makes clear that recovery is about so much more than food freedom.
So pleased you found it motivating :) Thank you for your support x

What an incredible motivator that is Tilly

@@emilyspence2961 sorry just realised I was a bit negative in picking up on the one I didn't relate to, when most of them resonated a lot!
Boom again
I've wrote a number of reasons down why i want to recover but it still doesn't motivate me and that's what i find really scary!!!!
