È inutile è immensa, bravissima.
questo è il "miracolo" umano di una voce matura, di un'interprete che ha la musica nelle vene, invece del sangue, di una donna d'acciaio che conosce cosa vuol dire essere un'artista: studio, devozione, passione. ieri sera io ho assistito a qualcosa che non dimenticherò mai.......grazie, Signora Devia. ho fatto 1000 km per sentirLa, li avrei fatti anche a piedi!

La Devia nel Devereux pensavo non fosse proprio il mio ideale ma vogliamo riconoscere a questa immensa cantante l'intelligenza di aver condotto una carriera esemplare,di aver fatto le cose giuste al momento giusto senza mai mettere sotto sforzo il suo strumento? Chapeau, m.me Devia,cantare in questo modo dopo anni e anni di luminosa carriera è un traguardo raggiunto da pochissimi. Si può discutere di tutto ma non dell'intelligenza suprema di questa cantante.

Credo che i suoi meriti siano stati riconosciuti pochissimo rispetto alla sua mostruosa tecnica e facilità nei sovracuti.
Sì lo credo anch'io. Tra l'altro la sua celebrità è arrivata anche abbastanza tardi e prima all'estero che in Italia. In Francia, ad esempio,era apprezzatissima molto prima che da noi. Ma forse è stato anche un bene perché questo le ha permesso di cantare dopo decenni di carriera opere come il Devereux. Non si è bruciata,insomma, Ma forse non lo avrebbe fatto comunque perché è molto intelligente ed avveduta.

Bodiloto lei delira, la Sutherland non ha la perfezione tecnica della Devia che sgrana ogni singola nota con perfezione. In più la pronuncia della Sutherland era pessima, anzi no lasciatemi essere volgare, era una vera merda, non si capiva un cazzo di cosa diceva. Consiglio una visita dall'otorino

Ms. Devia just sang this 3 days ago, March 15, 2018 sounding better than ever. You can subjectively criticize her all you want, but objectively you can’t fault her pitch, steady focused tone, ability to swell and diminuendo, the bloom still apparent in her voice, and her thrilling high D’s and Eb’s. Nor can you say her voice can’t be heard. I heard her in one of the biggest houses on the planet-the Met-in Abduction and Lucia. Sitting in the top row of the family circle, we could hear every sound that came spinning out of her golden throat. Her recent Roberto D at Carnegie Hall once again confirmed her voice is not “huge” or artificially “beefed up” (nor were the voices of Pons, Schipa, deLuca, Kraus, Peters, or Battle) but has the core that carries it to the back of the theater. Every one of the singers I mentioned was singing beautifully into and beyond their 70th year.
Size is overrated. Unless, of course, you’re singing Turandot, Elektra, Salome, or Brünnhilde. And we all know those singers grow on trees, right?

Donizetti is credited as the inventor of the slow cabaletta, no more so than in Roberto D with its painstakingly pulled out long phrases, almost impossible for a singer to do in one breath, as it is done here by Mariella.

I am not sure if I understand the enthusiastic comments around this performance. I've seen Mariella live previously, and her voice was too small for dramatic Donizetti; it's a surprise that she could be actually heard in the theater. Her voice has lost richness and color and I think she doesn't have much to offer at the moment; the tempos are ridiculously slow, she doesn't have trills anymore and so on..It can be justified as "good for her age", "respect for her age" but the cliché of "perfect technique" is highly inappropriate in the context: too many limitations. The personality has always been shy and not much into the character, but her singing once it used to compensate that. Not anymore.
I think that you don't know much about this artist and, sorry, not much about Donizetti and music......after all, you are the only one who dislike her. Ask yourself why......

come cantavo conta poco per me visto che la bellezza della mia voce e' rimasta nel passato ...
negli anni 60 avevo degli amici ,una parte tra di loro erano dei miei colleghi cantanti lirici .
tutti abbiamo abbandonato il mestiere giovani per il rispetto che dobbiamo ai compositori e il nostro pubblico.
anzi vecchio a volte sorprendo i miei giovani colleghi con la mia tecnica e vecchia voce...
in un mese solo son riuscito di far cantare un baritono chi prima di conoscermi era con gravi problemi di emissione, una mezzosoprano e una soprano . già tutti e tre mi adorano e sono felicissimi visto come hanno cantato oggi con l'orchestra .

quello che fanno la Devia,Gruberova,Domingo,Nucci e compagnia negli ultimi anni lo trovo veramente scandaloso .
