Como que ya han fallecido, la Caballé ya en sus últimos años, la enfermedad que venia arrastrando acabó por retirarla y más tarde con su vida, pero, que en su momento fue de las grandes pero "de las más grandes" , y de la de Sutherland, ¿no fue una acaso una carrera llena de éxitos? . Ahora solo queda la Sra Devia que es la actual reina del "bel canto " aunque, ya también se ha retirado y solo canta de muy tarde en tarde, también da clases magistrales. Hace unos meses dio un recital en A Coruña para los amigos de la Ópera, ni la pandemia ha logrado pararla !! GRANDE DE VERDAD¡¡ .
She sings so unbelievable well in shape with her 69 years here, no scooping like another great well known soprano practice it in an excessive way. Mariella Devia is marvelous with her great old school singing and precious sound.

Guys, where have you been all this time?? Tremendously enjoyed this performance live, especially Devia-Albelo cowork. Great to discover there exists a good recording. Separate thanks to Albelo - despite battling a severe cold he was a brilliant Gennaro - wish he'd sung in Valencia Borgia. Could you also upload Infelice?
In tutti i più importanti teatri del mondo si dovrebbe onorare questa grande cantante che, anche a se alla fine della carriera, interpreta con risultati entusiasmanti i suoi personaggi, sicuramente meglio di qualunque altra oggi. E' stati fatto nel passato anche per altre come Sutherland che si trovavano in condizioni vocali molte peggiori.
Personally I believe the agility is labored due to age even though the rest of the voice is in great shape. In Earlier videos of this and other operas the tempos are quicker. This is just my opinion.
Lorsque l’on compare avec Katia Ricciarelli ou même Renée Fleeming, Mariella Devia est très largement une des plus crédibles interprètes dans ce rôle. Une voix toujours puissante et des notes suraiguës qui pour moi vont même au delà de l’interprétation de Joan Sutherland. 💙🤍❤️
I agree. I looked at a video a little further away, and you are right, too much movement during the high note. In order for this to work, they would have to sit down in 1 count all together, they take 3 counts and waivy, not at the same time. I guess only dancers can sit that fast all together. Maybe! It would have been better to stand for 3 more seconds.

Devia is a marvel! I love that the crowd, conductor, chorus, AND orchestra burst in to applause and cheering as soon as the final note is played.

I don't think they were lazy, I believe they were told to sit down to withdraw from the scene and leave the entire scene to her during the high note.

They (the chorus) were incredibly ill-behaved. Picking, scratching,adjusting their hair. They are disconcerting and rude
I'm a member of the choir and we were told to sit in this moment... as it's usual, the choir doesn't decide where or when to sit
