    I had a 17 hand Arabian horse named desert storm, dude would bite me all the time, and kick me. Yet when I would get on him, even bareback I didn't need to do anything, he just knew where I wanted to go and how fast. He was never kept in a pen, we would just let him out and he stayed on our 10 acre property. One day we both fell about 5 feet into a ditch, because of the soft dirt around it, and he got up and grabbed me by my belt and helped me stand up.. Quit riding after he died of stomach cancer.. Miss that horse.

      If you like this stuff specifically, this guy makes some interesting stuff you might like: ruclips.net/channel/UCMjlDOf0UO9wSijFqPE9wBw
      He is kinda the Medieval Brian Brushwood, he tries peasant food, learns about how knights lived and what it was actually like. He has a fun personality and a good sense of humor and makes a cool subject _actually cool!_ So often Medieval stuff can be stuffy and boring... but he does a great job. Just check out the video on training battle horses! I had no idea just a dead body dummy just laying there would spook a horse and make them panic! Horses are so dumb! Lol they have to learn to just step on corpses, get used to clanging and bashing noises, and other crazy stuff. It's very interesting.
      Anyway, He's a small channel and deserves some attention. I hope you like his stuff, it's unlike anything on RUclips I've seen!

    This was awesome! I've done a fair bit of instinctive archery, even though it's not my main discipline by any means, and it's so clear how this is a perfect setting to utilize that school of thought. Not that I would have any better of a chance to place that shot than you guys, this is all a different monster, but it's so interesting to see traces and hints of that thought process in action. And even in the horse riding; it's the projection and determination that you are in control that will get the desired result. Thanks guys!

    Title: "Hitting a bullseye from a galloping horse"
    Content: Hitting a target from a slowly moving horse.

    • @ModernRogue
      @ModernRogue  6 лет назад +1

      You watched her hit a bullseye from a galloping horse in the first 30 seconds, followed by 20 minutes of her explaining how she did it.
      I don’t think you’ll be getting us on this one.

    That moment when Shwood was riding off into the horizon, all I could think was: “Event undercutting cool-looking moment in 3, 2, 1” And of course, Shwood immediately starts panicking a bit.

    That was so very interesting. I live in Alberta, but have never had the opportunity for understanding horses and how you ride one. This is great, explains so much. I used to like walking through the fields and shooting, and some horses would be friends and expect that carrot or sugar cube as a thank you for lettin me cross your pasture, but never really understood about how to ride one, and the awesome relationship between man and horse. Thanks, this was great, lotsa fun, wonder where and why the hobby horse came in..... fun for kids, but also a training mechanism for the kids to learn quicker how to ride well. Awesome job, thank you all. Was almost expecting coconut clapping when you cantered though.... hehe.

    Yeah, mounted archery is cool and all... but have you ever cut a man down with a cavalry saber?
    Cause I haven't...
    Cause that would be murder... and murder's not cool.

      You guys should look into Historical Equestrian Martial Sports (HEMS). It's literally mounted HEMA. There is a group based out of Denmark that travels to do clinics and whatnot. There's a brief doc here on RUclips if you're interested:

    Buckwheat husk pillows are amazing and are available from other brands as well. Cheap to replace the filling after a few years and it is like you have a new pillow... Soft but settles to be supportive, a bit firm, any movement is easy and then supportive in the new shape again...
