Rejection therapy: you won't be afraid to ask for things that you want because you won't be afraid to hear no. Wow never thought like this. Wisely said! :))
You are such a ray of light honestly. Freelancing is one of those artist-like things where you feel like superman one day and like nothing even matters anymore the next day. Lol, overly dramatic I know, but it's true. It's always super helpful to hear your advice, and I love your attitude! xoxo
thank YOU i actually was able to write pitches after this video ! have been frozen at my desk for days trying to figure this out.. thanks to this video i was able to break the mold, CHEERS! just subbed to u keep em coming
Thank you! I stumbled across this on Tuesday and I used your template to pitch. I have a scheduled call tonight after just 40 pitches. And they were my 3rd pitch on the excel sheet!
This is such an I informative piece of video on cold pitching emails. It totally shows how much of personal experience speaks for itself. Happy I stumbled upon this. ❤
Hi Colleen :) late to the party, but can you maybe do a video of you finding clients/companies to pitch to online? I'd love to see your process for cold pitching. Thank you 💯
I love this video it is highly informative but I have one question which is what if you are still an undergraduate will it be included in your qualifications, like how do an undergraduate write a good qualification with discouraging the buyer?.
So I specialize in mental health articles. Many therapeutic clinics don't list their e-mail address on their website, they simply link to a form one can fill out and send. Should I plug my cold pitch letter (that I downloaded from you, you beautiful, giving soul!) into these Contact Us forms, or would it be more effective and professional to send a posted letter instead? Thank you for all your help!
@@colleenwelsch_ Thanks buddy! I stumbled onto your site last night and happened to find it there. I couldn't expand the description on my desktop last night but I see it on my phone now
Hi Colleen! Another question I have is how do you not run out of brands to pitch to? I mean, what is your process for finding new beauty brands to pitch your services? Thanks!
Quick question: What if potential client's website only has a "contact us" form and no email address to email directly? Is it okay to cold pitch to them via their "contact us" form?
Hey, my niche is also health and beauty. I’ve been struggling with finding the emails of the brands. I was wondering how you were able to find them. Thank you😊
So...I'm an anthropologist, and Ive create a sqaurespace blog website that shows off many blog posts I've created. Do you think there's a niche [anthropology] in this 🤔
I cold/ warm pitch... prospects show interest... they hop on a zoom call and agree to my pricing... we agree to touch base on a specific date to get started... and when the day comes they say they are facing some problem on their end or go cold......... what do I do to solve this? Is this a normal part of the process?... Should I try to get them to pay in the zoom call itself (eg. through a limited time discount)???
It's normal. Usually if they go cold, it's a no and they just don't have the courage to say so. Definitely try to get them to agree on the call, but not by offering a limited time discount. Have them sign a contract and pay a deposit before even put the project on your calendar.
Hi Colleen, thanks for the great tips! When a blog states that they're not accepting any guest posts/submissions, all else being equal, would you still send them a cold email to present yourself, your services and ask for a call?
Great tips Collen! How much do you think a professional IT and software freelance writer should charge per word? Is $0.2 per word too low? I'm still struggling with setting my rates although I'm not a newbie anymore. Please share some insights 🙏🙏 I really adore your content btw 😍🙂
@@colleenwelsch_ please can I use my website as a portfolio? It's not really optimized as a personal blog, but I have a page that dedicated to me. Bio and etcetera. Will this work? Thanks a lot for this video
I would say there's nothing actually stopping you from cold pitching without a website. However, I strongly recommend it as a platform for portfolios because it makes you seem professional, helps with branding, and will be easiest for clients to get a full picture of your freelance business.

Check their terms of service or their Facebook page. It will usually list an email address there.

It depends. Who would your clients be?

Hey Igor! Personally, I would not. No means no and it can potentially do more harm then good to push.

It depends on how much work you have. When you’re fully booked, it’s time to raise hour rates!

Cool 😎
I've been told that including links in the first email could also land you in spam
That is a risk, sure. It depends on the client's email service provider.
My biggest struggle is to actually FIND those emails...how can I find them ?
They’re usually on their Facebook page
I mean if you fail at basic google search, you're gonna fail at writing
