I would buy one of these to leave my nice PRS cases at home for gigs. Especially my PS guitars.

I just hope the standard multi-fit cases continue to be available. Experience tells me that traditional cases of high quality outlast any plastic molded guitar cases we've seen as of yet.

For sure but those aren’t lightweight, powder coated, or military grade shock absorbent. These are for the roadie guitars.

My 594 Wood Library came in Black Paisley case. It looks great. Fit is perfect. Only negative thing is that it is really heavy. Like guitar is light but case it self is like two more guitars. Placing guitar in it and it feels like you are lugging one more amplifier. Also they are classic cases no water proofing. It is prone to case byte as well. You open it and if you are in hurry it might starting to close up again and its latch will damage your guitar. Top is heavy and it will close really fast on you. Ask me how I know :(
I hope this one has some seal around the parameter. I hope it is light as well.
This one is priced really good in USA but I wonder what is going to be the price for us here in the EU? I guess also 250 Euro. That would be good. Certainly would make me buy it for average situation where the practicality is more important than the looks. And I adore Paisley cases. This once look great too but it would hurt me way less to scratch or ding that and ding would be easier to deal with as well.
    Great idea.

They need to come up with a smaller case like Gibson or Fender has had for years. These are very difficult to lug around and or store. Sure they protect the guitar well but are very inconvenient for taking to a gig. The gig bags are just not enough protection, definitely PRS is missing on that middle ground area where most gigging musicians would want more protections less bulkiness.

Fantastic I’m glad PRS has their own molded cases now. ❤
A bit higher than the competitors price points but these are welcome!!
For now my Silver Sky is sitting still quite safely in a molded case already.
It wasn’t easy to find one that it fit in but without being funny it fits well in a Fender molded case.
Perhaps I’ll get one of these down the road to continue to support PRS.

I have a silver sky in nebula obviously didn’t want to keep it in the gig bag it came with. I bought the official silver sky case and man, it did NOT fit. The neck sat so high that you couldn’t close it…. So I sent it back. And it was costly to do so. SO I am hoping this case fits better! I need a hard shell case for it. I thought about using a fender case but I hated to use a fender one just didn’t feel right lol

Kinda frustrating for many people who've bought PRS guitars recently. We didn't have ANY, available hardcases that fit McCarty models properly. I was forced to buy a Gator deluxe TSA chainsaw case, and put some custom foam inserts in it. Otherwise the neck won't rest flat in the cradle, and the whole guitar sits at a vicious angle. Then, if you'd try'n close the lid, it would hit the nut area, lifting the body of the guitar off the bottom of the case! Bad.Very bad. It's a tight fit, but it can be made to work with the proper thickness foam pad under the bottom end of the body.
Shitty part about it all, is that now like only 6 months later. They release these for $50 bucks more. You know how many they would've sold over the last year or so, if they'd have been available? Lots.

Looks like a typically excellently crafted product from PRS. Nice!! Now, what I really want to know is there any chance the 12-string electric in the backing track for the video is either an S2 or SE future model? (I vote for an S2 Vela 12-string. I think that platform would make an incredible sounding instrument. Especially with the new US-made electronics.) I have 4 Core guitars and an SE. What I wouldn't give for a killer 12-string electric PRS that's reasonably affordable!

I plan on getting one very soon. I see other comments saying it's made in China. If that's true then that's unfortunate, however it still looks to be of good quality, and 250 is a great price point if you're on a budget (which I am). Sure a lot of us might be willing to pay a bit more if it were made somewhere else, and I would too, but I'll take it for what it is given that it's a great deal and it's only a case.

    • @roofkorean6948

I try to avoid Chinese products in general but I compromise sometimes if I know it's a good product beforehand or if it's a really good deal, and this case is priced pretty competitively with some other cases given the quality. I bought a used Chinese Epiphone a while back just because I wanted the discontinued Alex Lifeson Les Paul with the Piezo, but it's the only type of Chinese guitar I'm going to buy simply because if you want a classic Les Paul, it's considerably more affordable then an unobtainium Gibson. But I'll never buy anything new from Epiphone though, only used, because I don't support their company. With PRS it's the opposite. I'll never buy used. I only buy new products from PRS because it not only supports the company, but you know the consistent quality you're getting right from the factory.
Btw, I did consider buying a PRS SE Tremonti model instead of the Lifeson Epiphone and just adding a piezo system to it myself but the charcoal color of the SE Tremonti just doesn't do a thing for me. I'm not a fan of any of the charcoal finishes to be honest. Plus I'd have to swap the pickups too because the Tremonti ones aren't my favorite. I personally think PRS should come out with more colors of the Tremonti SE, or better yet, just release some McCarty 594T models (T for tremolo). More options in general for a Singlecut with a trem system on the market would be nice. Singlecut body + trem system = holy grail of combos. And dare I ask, a piezo system? If you think the DGT SE is the "only guitar you'd ever need", then try releasing an SE production model Singlecut with a ghost piezo tremolo system for 1,300 or under and I guarantee it will sell like crazy and become an iconic staple of the PRS SE line. You already make Singlecut guitars and trem systems, and you already add the piezo to your hollowbody models, why not just combine them into one guitar? Call it the Singlecut McCarty PT or something (PT = piezo tremolo).

Funny, PRS really is becoming an Apple-like brand with some of these releases.
Fender's made really nice ATA cases for years. Jackson's done the nice molded tank-cases for a while too.
I'm happy with my PRS Gig-Bags (or, original cases for the 80's-90's stuff) - but nice to see a plush new case design.
