- I got this little camera as a secret santa present these past holidays. It was surprisingly better than expected. Not a serious camera, but a fun camera, and that's a good thing.
If the Digital Harinezumi can be a cult camera, I think the Paper Shoot can, too.
Strange camera! Never heard of it before. Amazing the kinda of shots you are getting from these weird camera setups!
oh my god! snappiness you should do a review to this camera pls I love you !!!!
You made a very fine video.
This looks fun to use.
It is! Super limited, and that is part of the fun.
Poor man's Leica MD typ-262
Do you have a paper camera?
I think you should.
The camera is fun
and fun is good.
The price isn't fun it's equal to am new android phone
what all compact camera would you recommend for about the same price as the paper shoot camera? - since you mentioned it in the video) :)
Good question! The Papershoot is $120.
When I said that I was thinking about a used Canon G15 for example. These seem a bit more expensive than $120, but I'm sure you could find one if you looked patiently enough.
Another one that is really good quality, with a metal body and really nice compact design, is the Fuji XF1. Also a bit over $120 on ebay now, though.
Finally, if you're willing to go a bit older, a Lumix LX-3 is a fantastic camera and will make much better photos than a PaperShoot. They can be had for about the same $120 right now it seems.
All these cameras can shoot raw, and give you total exposure control. That alone ensures way better quality than just shooting jpegs.
Hope that helps!
It's been 10 months since this video was uploaded. I'm curious, how is the camera holding up?
11 months now, sorry I never answered!
Great question. It's holding up OK. The cover, being paper, is looking not fantastic. That is easy to change though. I even designed and 3D printed a cover for it myself, even though the paper one is more pleasant to hold.
The electronics work just fine. Right now it's one of the cameras my daughter uses. At 3 years old, she takes some awesome photos, mostly by randomly pressing the shutter button, and 50% are of her forehead. But hey.
Cool! You earned a sub!!! If you have a chance, my channel has covered a few cameras and techniques, but one of my old favorites is a simple 110mm pocket camera from the ‘80s which needs to be published... My first camera and WOW have things changed!!! Your website is hard for me to reach, but from what I have seen it looks GREAT!!!
Cool video, but I don't think that it's worth to buy it for any reason, especialy for 120$. You can get better quality and looks with a cheap 2nd hand point and shoot camera.
Yeah, I don't disagree with this. As you see in the video, this was a gift, and as such it was awesome. Regardless of the price it's a fun little camera because of its limitations. Not worth it? Probably. I didn't have to worry about that part 🙂
