These drone hobbies are not a threat; you don't need a proof. it is just common sense. Most 99% of American PC boards are made in China, and most chips are made in Asia with factories in China. Your phone, TV, internet router, and security camera are from overseas. All the IoT devices have no security measures. Many people don't patch and update Windows OS security. Americans have no clue about network security or firewall. All these bans are just to prop up America failed drone business. No difference in banning Chinese EVs in America. American can't face up foreign compeition anymore. That is the sad part after we were told the land of the free and the brave.
With everything that is currently going on with the "Mystery Drones" in New Jersey, New York, and PA, I am concerned this could be all the more reason they push for the ban to happen.
@@saberfly I couldn't agree with you more. I was just telling some of my friends who also fly drones the same thing. If in fact that is what is going on, that is pretty messed up!
Ordered a DJI Air3S from DJI over a month ago. Once in the US, US Customs failed to release it for shipping requesting a copy of Federal tax return cover and SS card, both supplied. Two weeks passed with US Customs still not releasing drone. DJI called and apologized for the delivery delay and said they would send another Air3S. Second Drone sent, US Customs again requests Federal tax return and SS card, both supplied. Not sure why US Customs needs a copy of your tax return and SS card to purchase a drone but apparently, they do. A month since Air3S order, two weeks since DJI sent second drone. US Customs recently notified shipper it could be three plus months (3+) until package is released. After notification of three plus month confiscation, all US Customs updates to shipper have stopped.
@sl44er That's incredibly frustrating! I'm actually looking into getting the DJI Air 3S myself, and reading about your experience with US Customs confirms the worry. It sounds like a real nightmare. Hope you can get this resolved soon and finally enjoy the drone!
If you can get it through customs, I've had two AIR 3s Drones get seized by customs, & now it looks like my 3rd AIR 3S drone is being held up by customs. This is ridiculous.
I just got a AIR3s it took about 11 days to get to me, I bought the fly more combo with the RC2 controller. Shipping and tax was $1,487.21 It was shipped FedEx , I am just getting good enough weather to fly lately.
Thanks for keeping us updated! So the ban that may come in one year looks like it may still just add them to the no trade list? Meaning current drone on the market would still work with their radio frequencies after that gets picked and say a negative determination is made by one of those 5 agencies?
Any DJI drones already sold into the US would still work. The FCC just wouldn't approve NEW drones to come to market. It wouldn't affect any drones that anyone already owns. They wouldn't revoke previously granted spectrum use.
This is all so unnecessary if they understood anything that they try to regulate. To them it’s like all they see is, it flies, has camera, has gps = bad. Zero education
Once you understand why they ban Huawei, ZTE, TikTok, Chinese citizens from buying real estate, blocking Chinese students from studying at our universities, and forcing Chinese owned farms to sell then you’ll understand that this DJI ban has nothing to do with “it flies, has cameras, has GPS = bad”.

Can confirm, and I have a screen shot to prove this, that, according to a DHL customer service rep, due to how customs is handling DJI drone orders, DHL will no longer ship DJI drones to the US and will hold your package at whichever port in China it would be shipped out of.
If it makes anyone feel better, I just had a DJI Air 3S shipped to someone in the PNW (a giveaway winner) that delivered successfully. And I just received a Mini 3 yesterday for another project we’re working on. Had no problems getting them. Ordered them directly from DJI website.
We should get the Mavic 4!!!!! As long as NJ DOESNnt ban drones because our government is too incompetent to figure out who’s flying the “mystery” drones

That drone should have been taken apart look through and tested for breach of security proportions. They are not interested insecurity of this country they are just interested in their own greed. Give me the best drones in the world that is what the American customers want to be operating with. Not know 3rd and 4th rate drone.
I am new to drone but an old R/C hobbist. To be objective as an outsider on drones, drones as a hobby add more chance of bodily harm to an average American in a public area. Most drone pilots crash a lot when they start the hobby. Banning or requiring a pilot license makes sense. In my old R/C days, we carried millions of dollars of USD insurance to fly. DJI is a specific issue. American drone companies failed to compete with Chinese drones. The company forgot the WTO rules and tried to eliminate the competition. Americans do whatever they want, even violating their own rules. The rule only applies to foreign countries. So much for the American rule-based policy. Americans generally don't make things anymore; strong USD put American factories out of business unless they move the factories to China, like Apple. After 40 years, we can't build anything. Amazon 70% of goods are from China. I am sure DJI owns most drone patents worldwide. Eliminated a low-cost producer just kills drones as a hobby for everyone in America but not overseas.
So, why isn't our government concerned as much about our open borders as it is about my little drone? Why are dangerous criminals and dangerous military aged men from countries that hate us are of no concern to out government? Seems a little odd!!!

An American company recently audited dji and determined they were not a threat.
What’s the name of the company?
I would like proof of that sir. Since you happen to say it. What company how they prove it so that somebody can confirm it
I believe that a lot of stuff they're pulling is to monitor legal law abiding citizens. Not necessarily rule following citizens law abiding.
