What Do Property Owners Look For In Drone Content? (YDQA EP 64)
There is the this "professional" (?) photographer in my area. Every. Single. Photo. Is freaking blue. And he actually edits them to add even more blue in the shadows and midtones via color grading. I always laugh, because are in the tropics, no one wants to see freaking blue photos that represents the tropics. We don't live in Alaska. And this guy thinks he is the superstar of photography because he is married to an American woman who buy all his gear and also got him a sweet contract with a big resort here in Placencia. But, all his photos are complete shitte.
One thing you should have mentioned: shoot. In. D-Log. This is like shooting pictures in RAW. If you want to shoot pro video on your drone. Make sure to ALWAYS shoot D-Log. Man, I wish this guy would make more content. No matter what you search for when it comes to drones, his content always comes up. And it Evergreen Content.
How many people in the US in the last 10 years, have been injured by drones??? I'm guessing none.
I haven’t heard of one instance outside of cutting fingers from props when trying to catch the drone.
Modelling
107 cuts down on the competition.
It’s particularly helpful when you live under an airports airspace and just want to fly around your property.
Can I use a mini 3 pro?
Yup. Use Dronelink
@ thank you!
Don't know if anyone checks back ...but David..you still believe it's fine to buy DJI or will I have an obsolete drone if I do due to ban
Howdy. I’m still very pro DJI. I don’t think they will be obsolete. I think they are the best bang for your buck right now, so if you’re thinking about getting one, I would go ahead and pull the trigger while you still can! It’s not like DJI drones will stop working, the proposed legislation will just not allow them to sell drones in the US going forward (as it’s currently written). But who knows how that will exactly take shape.
Thanks for your response. Love DLA...Do you happen to know if any issues with delivery of drones due to customs?@@DroneLaunchAcademy
If you have 107 cert, can you fly higher than rec flight?
Not without an FAA waiver
Mavic 3 Enterprise with DRTK station he mentioned vs the Mavic 3M, wondering the pros and cons
M3M has a multispectral camera (in addition to the RGB camera). Multispectral is primarily used for agriculture
Getting good at this. Almost there.

Hey, you're one of the faces from the part 107 course I'm taking! Didn't know you guys had YT channel as well.
Howdy. 👋🏻. Yup, it’s me. David. Nice to see you here.
What is a good way to get my work on my website for advertising?
Winds are faster at elevation because there is “nothing getting in the way of it…” that’s the most Kentucky logic I’ve ever heard.
I think DJI could open source some of the code and keep their Cloud Solutions on NSA controlled services like Google Cloud or AWS. Its is likely DJI has contracts with Chinese military.
You can make a Rasp Pi drone just search "Pi Dronegirl". This is funny most cheaper components found in electronics are made in China period. Also, its not just they are "cheaper" - that has nothing to do with the products engineered - they have the skills and the education to make quality products in MASS much like Apple. DJI also has engineers from all around the world. They have R&D office in Japan... DJI has made quaility products for years now. Its clear they are targeting Chinese companies that are several years ahead of the competition.
Why can't we fly at night? Are there any exceptions? Can I ask the FAA? I wanted to fly over the river and get photos of downtown Portland at night.
You can. There are just rules about being current with 107 and having a strobe visible for 3 miles.
@@DroneLaunchAcademy Thanks for the information! I'm total noob.
for a video being 5 months old, i'm surprised you're talking about the dji mini 2 when you have the mini 4 pro out
mini 4 pro isn't great for mapping because it doesn't integrate with any flight automation tools at the moment. The mini 2 does and still works great for small stuff.
Capitalism is working at its best. CAVU
This is pure bunk, a person flying a drone over the super bowl would certainly not have an active remote ID module on board. The simple reason for remote ID is the UAV delivery industry needs this information for collision avoidance and rather than develop it themselves they bought the FAA to have drone pilots provide the information and pay for the transponders.
You know every basic DJI drone currently comes with the remote ID module now, right? And those don’t do any delivery.
My DJI geo zone said I was not in the airspace, all I did was launch and go up about 100ft like any new drone pilot and come back down to then learn after seeing in another app I am in fact in a class d. Only lasted for 5 min and definitely an honest mistake. What should I do?
Look at you grow.
Amazing what you pick up from being around smart people ;)
@@DroneLaunchAcademyyep, it’s OK not being the smartest guy in the room.
DoneLink for automated flights and WebODM for processing works for me. You can also use Maps Made Easy for processing. Although its not totally free, it is reasonable, pay as you go.
Traffic monitoring
Wow. So much to consider and plan. Excellent explanations.
Will the new Mavic 3s work?
Not right now. Good to check for compatibility with software like Dronelink or Pix4Dcapture (or something similar)
@@DroneLaunchAcademy thanks!
subscribed :) I am currently having difficulties prospecting clients.
awesome content!
Good explanation even without graphics.
you cannot fly over national parks, minimal altitude allowed by the FAA for aircraft (drones included) is 5000 feet, below that is restricted air space, drones cannot fly above 400 feet so you cannot fly high enough to be over national parks
Here’s some more info from the NPS (below). They can request that no aircraft operations take place below 2,000 feet, but that is a request that comes with voluntary compliance and is not a legal restriction. I believe the 5,000 ft rule you reference applies to “Commercial Air Tour Operations”, not all aircraft. I’m by no means an aviation attorney. This is just my understanding from the documentation and FAA advisory circulars I could find. www.nps.gov/articles/mitigating-the-impacts-of-aviation.htm

Wao
I've always felt that there's no need to worry about FAA or law enforcement tracking you, unless you're flying in a manner that would give them a reason to pay attention to you.

B.S. 😮answer on price. example. every brand new car from any region in the US, has 3 prices. MSRP, 2nd sticker and an invoice. NOBODY pays the SAME. All we wanted/needed to know is… with your expertise and experience, what would you charge for any specific event. simple
So... I have a DJI Mini 4 Pro with the 'plus' batteries that put its weight over 250g. My understanding is that the _manufacturer_ is the one that must submit the Declaration of Conformance, not the end user. I have my Part 107 certificate, functional Remote ID and am registered in FAAs' 'DroneZone' as a Part 107. The FAA UAS declaration of compliance site (uasdoc.faa.gov/listdocs) has my drone as RID compliant, but not necessarily yet OOP compliant. Does that sound right? What a mess.
Great video thank you
Mobile Alabama
I couldn't care less, I fly when traveling and camping and I video or photograph scenery and don't use the noisy Mavic 3 around people and fly the Mini 4 pro above 100' where few notice it.
If you took the test 3 years ago and failed and now cant find your paperwork. Do you still say that you took the test or say this is my first time
Good question. Not 100% sure how they’d handle it. Did you get an FTN previously before testing? Or had they not implemented that yet?
Do you have any tips on how to get GPS coordinates of a ground control mat using a handheld device without the support of a surveyor
Do you own any type of GNSS receiver?
And if we use grounds controls points and heure coordinate have been gotten by total station with accuracy in plane 5 mm and in height 5mm for example ?
Drone Launch Academy, this is a fantastic video with fantastic material. Accurate, honest, and deliberate. Great job! As a professional commercial drone service flight provider and aerial data collector professional, I would include aviation insurance as another requirement for conducting business. As a vendor, my clients require aviation insurance for drone work, or they would not be a client unless I otherwise obtain aviation insurance. Keep up the good work! -Drone615
psa... make sure you set proper rth settings or it'll fly into a building lol
This actually happened last year in Vegas during the F1 race. The operator got caught & caught a massive fine ($80k if I remember).
Oh wow! I didn’t hear about that one. Thanks for the info 👍
