here's a fun fact: broly's line when he turns SS, "my power level is maximum", was TFS's little nod to the fans. you see, decades ago, a kid wrote to a DBZ magazine and told them what his favorite character was. he said broly and his reason was "his power level is maximum!".

Quick bit of context for that thing about a tournament:
The "Otherworld Tournament" is basically a big tournament held in the afterlife, with participants from the North/South/East/West galaxies... but only dead ones, since it's in the afterlife.
So, with it being in the afterlife, and South Kai's *entire galaxy* being dead, he has "a lot more options" for fighters.

Nappa is pun for type of Chinese cabbage

What is this Chi Chi slander! She didn’t trick him, he just thought a bride was some kind of food, and since no one could have possibly assumed that was what he thought, she just went along with his “sure, that sounds good!”
At the start when Chi-Chi said "Goku, I'm gonna show you!" It's a reference from their gaming channel where they say "Goku! He's gonna show you!" And I just realized that when King Kai said south Kai had more options, he meant that he had more dead people to choose to participate.
Actually, the "Goku! He's gonna show you!" was a lyric from the original english opening to the original dragon ball series when goku was a kid.

BTW, a lot of people missed it, but it was implied that Broly foresaw his death at Goku's hands when he was a baby, and that was why he was so obsessed with killing him.

Nick 'Lanipator'Landis is the voice of many characters, Krillin, Vegeta, and Piccolo being the most prominent. He also likes to sing, and is quite good at it. I'd suggest his original song 'Vegeta, Prince of Outlaws'.
And the Canadian Subtitles were amazing for this movie. Speaking of, my favorite DBZ movie was Super Android 13.
And the Bardok being a scientist thing was a joke about an early dub where Vegeta, fighting Goku on Earth, said that Bardok "Was an average fighter, but a brilliant scientist". It's been a running gag for TFS when playing games, like Metal Gear Solid 3 during one specific area.

They could give their own energy since the beginning. The Spirit Bimb does require energy from multiple sources after all.
Yeah but the Spirit Bomb is kinda it's own thing where you can funnel a little bit of your own power into it. Sharing your WHOLE power with someone for a massive boost, which is what happens in this movie, only seems to happen in the movies as a plot device - because if it was actually in the show it would completely break everything, since they'd just do it every time the world was in danger. In the show it's never even brought up as a suggestion so it's pretty clear that this is a movie contrivance to give them an ultra powerful opponent that they can then beat via some magic ability. Same thing happened in the 13 movie with Spirit Saiyan.

the funny thing is that Goku isnt an idiot. he just has a very focused circle of interests...almost entirely on fighting, which is why he's so good at fighting and training others to fight
Yeah, Z Broly was a badass character but he did needed a better reason for his hatred for Goku (or not hate only Goku as much as he did in the first place lol). He could've been just a blood thirsty Saiyan that only seeks destruction. But yeah, he knew what he was doing while in his lssj form. In the original movie he was able to talk in complete sentences.
I get what they were going for tho they wanted it it be a primal primitive sub conscious urge to kill goku so they they thought let's have goku harass him as a child... didn't quite work tho
they might of been better making it that goku's dad wronged broly's dad and paragus spent all the time badmouthing broly brainwashing him to hate goku
I miss that Broly. The fact he never talks when he fights anymore is a huge detriment to his character. I really wish Toei would stop making him feral when he fights.

@House Garrett The Movie takes place during the 10-day wait for the Cell Games, so when Goku said "I was saving this for Cell" line, it was because they didn't fight Perfect Cell yet.
King Kai's line of "He will be the death of me", he's referencing a later episode you guys haven't seen yet. So remember that line for later.
"Chevrolet Bel-Air" might be a reference to "The Prince of Bel-Air" also
Bardock is Goku's Father, he was the one that created the Artifical Moon Techinque that you saw in Vegeta's Fight with Goku during the Saiyan Saga

Kinda late, and not sure if anyone has already said, but the OST in that scene that Paragus was talking to Vegeta is called Regret. Very good song. Also glad to see y’all back 🙂
When they said bardock the scientist, it's bc bardock is the one who created the artificial moon technique Vegeta used to transform into a giant ape.. so they nicknamed bardock "the scientist" as a joke bc he was a low class warrior.
South Kai: "I thought she meant she was gonna steal my blu-ray player."
Princess: "They always do more than that."
"What about the other tournaments coming up?" was in reference to the tournament between the heroic spirits who were allowed to keep their forms after death, so when King Kai replied with "Now you have more options" he was referring to his choice of potential contenders has broadened because there were A LOT more souls lost at South Galaxy now. Basically, it was an inside joke for people who watched all the post Cell Saga episodes in the DBZ series.

That part @21:12 where Goku talks about Broly going easy on them, I think it's a jab at the English dub where he says something like "you're supposed to give us a handicap" and Broly answers "is that another word for coffin"
I believe that the real reason is Goku’s crying have him ptsd of being a victim of an attempted murder.
It's more "PTSD" of his first defeat. Babys already build memorys and instinct, even if we forget them. So Goku made Broly cry at that period imprinted him with a deep hate for lovable Kakarott. Still unecessary. They should've done what they did with the new Broly: his power driving him mad. It kinda doas in this one...but it's not clearly stated.

(Saiyans have great memory from birth) His own legendary power driving him insane and destroying his body. And the fact his father literally controls his mind constantly forcing down all his thoughts and emotions.

I feel like the whole point of the crying was lost in America. Goku's spirit overwhelmed Broly. That's the point. It was like a constant wave pool of fighting spirit smashing against him, since they're both babies and can't control their chi or life force. Broly may have had a higher power level, but Goku has always had a better fighter's spirit. But nah, everyone just simplifies it to "Scary crying make Broly mad!"
There was an inside joke about the SafeWord being broccoli, because since Saiyans are all named after vegetables (Kakarot is carrot, Vegeta is vegetable, Raditz is radish, etc) Broly is broccoli.

The best thing about the first Broly film is that Goku never actually beat him. He wounded him then ran away. Broly was all offense the entire film so they really put over how strong he was that took the energy of Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Trunks & Piccolo to just hurt him and then peace out so he would get crushed by the comet.
They kinda ruin it in Second Coming and especially Bio-Broly. But you can argue in Second Coming he was still massively injured, had just awoken from being frozen and even then it took Gohan, Goten, Trunks and a revived Goku just to overpower him long enough to launch him into the Sun. In Bio-Broly it's not even actually Broly so it doesn't really matter much lol

Fusion Reborn was my favorite DBZ movie. No explanation needed. The movie speaks for itself.
The real motivation for Broly hating Goku is because everything terrible that happened to baby Broly was on the day Baby Goku cried. Planet Vegeta was destroyed, Broly was stabbed and left for dead, also he was disrespected for crying while baby “Kakkarot” was yelling.
Basically, the word Kakkarot is an actual trigger word that reminds Broly of all that terrible stuff. He isn’t mentally stable.
All of this information was HORRIBLY explained in the movie and misinterpreted as Broly just hating Goku for crying.

Personally, I don't think Broly is mad at Goku "just because he cried a lot", I think more than Goku reminds him of his past, a past where he was rejected and literally stabbed. He had no education and crazy power, so he has no control over it. So when he sees Goku, it reminds him of his sad past. In any case, that's the vision I have of the thing

I think this movie (the real one) was the first time I've ever actually seen a villain--or anyone, really--interrupt Goku doing his Kamehameha Wave. I always wondered why people just let him power up his attack. I always yelled at the TV after school, "Come on, you idiot, stop him from doing that!" Broly might be motivated by a crying baby in this movie, but he's not an idiot when it comes to fighting. You DO NOT give your opponent time to use a power attack, especially if it's like ten seconds long to charge.

i wanna say something about the bardock special that you guys react to after this vid came out
that special has one MASSIVE underlying plot that yall completely missed
Bardock was probably the first ever deviation of time which is why any further 'time rings' for those who watched the Goku black arc all have the same looking saiyans, as time deviations are what cause new rings to appear, and that makes him the SOLE REASON saiyans in any timeline ended up looking and acting the way they do now, hes also likely considered the one the Saiyan legends all talk about, and thats kinda funny to me (i dont know if thats accurate for the original specials plot stuff cus i didnt watch it but it seems to be what TFS wanted it to look like) xD
The Team Fourstar guys didn't like this movie and resisted doing it for a long time, but basically eventually did to shut up the fans begging for it. Vegeta's breakdown is basically their opinion: "he's so cool. But he's so dumb!"
When Broly says, "but now Broly," it's because everyone who wanted it would comment, "when Broly." They also referenced it in the ending theme song
