My mom told me more about her and my dad's relationship as I got older but the final straw was when I said "Ew, Mommy, I don't want to know this" and she told me that she said the same thing that time when she was learning German in uni and heard my gran tell my grampa "get your hand away from there" in Yiddish while the family was watching TV with the lights off. NO ONE SHOULD KNOW THESE THINGS ABOUT THEIR GRANDPARENTS EVER.

As a younger brother, it's because we've been tormented by the older sister and her friends, so we want to mess with the older sibling as much as possible, while also possibly killing someone who hurts them.

Just the other day a manager sent a group text to restaurant employees (me being one) and the owner, to our personal cell numbers and not the business app, with a looooooong list of what was done wrong the night before. One of the waitresses sent back a looooong list of all the reasons the restaurant sucked. ‘Cept turns out it wasn’t the waitress, it was the manager’s nail lady with the same name included by mistake. That was awesome.
I'm the oldest of 10 kids. The only group chat we message through is to roast our family and ask for life advice (I'm 23 and the youngest is 2. I am basically both their mother and father at this point because they all realise how incompetent our actual mother and father are. Even the 2 year old refers to me as both "momma" and "dada". Im pretty sure the 2 year old is the smartest out of all of us. It is both extremely stressful and overwhelming but the funny or sweet moments make it worth it. Also I'm really proud of them for learning and being willing to learn despite being born to such hateful, close-minded, toxic and unhealthy parents

@@kissit012 yea I can understand whatcha mean. It really is a struggle to break the cycle but you can only do so much. Sometimes you just gotta let them ignore you and learn through experience (one of my sisters is currently 16 and is getting her mental health and act together after realizing her behavior is harmful to her but it took me cutting her loose for years after her manipulation and refusal to do better. She recently started contact with me again but only because she's finally decided to get help and do better as a person ya know. It hurt to cut her off and I was angry with her for a long time but in the end it was worth it.

I'm sorry your parents are such crap parents, every kid deserves at least one good parent but not every parent deserves kids. I hope you're life is going good and you're able to accomplish your dreams best role model is one who is also taking care of themselves.
Group chats get super confusing with my family. I have 5 siblings, 2 of them have a different dad, 3 spouses occasionally added in, and all of our parents are twice divorced. There are so many combinations of people, I never know which group to use, they go from 3-9 people, as we don't actually have any that include everyone.

The most eventful thing I have ever had happen in a gc, was when a friend added the guy she was emotionally cheating with she added him to the gc. They proceeded to hardcore flirt and talk about getting together after she dumped her then bf. She had the audacity to throw a fit that someone had sent her bf screenshots of the group chat conversations. Since no one fessed up, and she stared accusing everyone left and right the whole friend group disbanded especially after - gasp - people admitted to not being comfortable with the blatant cheating.
Group chats can end you. My colleagues on university form group chats according to what you are studying, one day my friend mistook the group chat for his beautician and ended up sending that he wanted everything waxed to all of the engineering students in the middle of class. The professor had no ideia why an entire amphitheater of students were losing their shit. We couldn’t focus after that and my friend will never live it down.

Every year, my sister creates a group chat around November 1st to coordinate Thanksgiving dinner. Problem is, she adds in some randomass numbers that are probably people's old numbers or some such thing, because we get some "Hey, I don't want to be in this chat" and "Who the F is this, take me off this chat." (I guess they're too lazy to just remove themselves from it)
A couple of years ago, I texted in the group chat, "Hey , text me your address so I can plug it into my google map and not get lost? I haven't driven to your place by myself since usually I carpool with someone else."
She actually wrote out her address in group chat, y'all. And one of the random number people showed up for Thanksgiving. They were cool though, and brought a pie. But last Thanksgiving, we had our get-together at my dad's house instead, and no group chat. I consider it a win.
My old West Point company has a group chat, and apparently there is some rando dude that got one of our member’s old numbers. He finally chimed in over the holidays with a picture and was curious who we were. He decided to remain…we are that cool. Seriously, could have been awkward, but he made it awesome.
We have a family WhatsApp my cousin’s wife set up when he had a stroke, to keep us all updated easily. Because various bits of the family are spread across half of England, and it was a rapidly-changing situation, at least the first week. So it saved multiple phone-calls. Then COVID hit so hello lockdowns, and the group chat took on a life of it’s own. Still used for family news, advice and holiday greetings, but just as much for jokes, memes and cute pix of our pets doing whatever. Rare a week goes by without something getting posted. Love it when an increasingly-silly conversation ensues, especially if the chat blows up during a naff day, so you’ve got a bit of light relief….

I only have one family chat (mom dad brother and me) but don't know why, anytime my mom has to tell something she send the same message to the chat and to every person individually for no reason other than messing us up.
The annoying thing when people invite you to group chats is that when you wake up the next day, there’s about 300+ messages flooding your phone, open the chat and it’s people sending stickers!!! And VN’s😩

When I was a teen I was in a group chat where an old toxic friend left after an argument. The rest of the members began bitching about her (one of the members was her ex) while I had muted the chat through the entire thing (I hated my notifs constantly going off and I didn't really know a lot of the people in there). I didn't read or open the chat at all so when said toxic friend asked to join again, I added her back in without thinking or checking the chat. Letting her read all the bitching about her. It was so awkward 😭
You'll love this one Charlotte. When I was in college, I had a class-mate and friend who made a group chat of all of the girls we had classes with. We were all in Culinary together and saw one another daily, nice little circle. In that group chat she went on one night about how she had a fling with a classmate and is now pregnant with his baby and in love with him. Meanwhile, she's married to the nicest, most gorgeous man you'll ever meet and has two kids and the guy she slept with from college was also married with kid. She put her shit on full blast in the group chat full of our peers and I called her own for it. She feigned innocents, saying it was only for me when I know she never texts me like that. So I called her ass out and she continued talking about it and making it a scene IN the group chat. What was epic is they backed me up for calling her out for using a group chat to out herself for so much shit and for attention. Never talked to her after that.
That first one with the 'dodgy pork' reminds me of something I shared with my family in group chat. Sharing a pic of a 4-6 foot tall erect d*** statue an elderly woman had on her headstone as her dying wish. This was a legit story last year on a news channel I watch. I shared it in family group chat because it was hilarious, especially since I said in group chat that it seemed like something my sister would like as her dying wish. Yes, my sister was in the same group chat. Everyone I shared it with agreed and found it so funny. Frisky grandmas are funny to me because it's so unexpected 🤣🍆

My brother was 12 years older than me. My very first memory of him is when he was yelling at our mom to "get this kid out of my room!" I was all of two!! 😆

The most embarrassing one for me was when I was leaving work late at night and I was the assistant manager closing and have to send night numbers to the store manager and district manager.

I hope my group chats with my husband and 3 teenage boys never get out. We make all kinds of inappropriate (but hilarious) jokes. My kids are funny af. My husband is just shaking his head and asking what’s wrong with us. (Although he laughs at some of it). He’s the only normal one on the house.

Totally agree about people should get consent before adding someone to a group chat. Had someone do that to me at Christmas. She texted me Merry Christmas but in a group chat with 8 other people who I didn't even know so then I started getting responses from all these strangers blowing up my phone. I ended up sending her a response outside of the group chat and then blocking all the numbers in the group chat so I would stop getting texts from all these people I didn't know. Was very annoying. lol Have a wonderful break Charlotte!
My family group chat is mostly sending each other pics of our kids and the occasional special event invitation. We see each other almost every week anyways. When there were floods in Germany my mom forwarded one of my German aunt's hilarious flooding memes and a few updates. That was probably the most exciting thing to happen there outside of cute baby pics.

This was during Spring training in, I think, 1996 or 1997. Mr. Hargrove has talked about how he had to become a counselor, in addition to a manager.

When my husband and i got together my cat was possesive over me. He pissed on my husband's clothes, shoes, pillow, side of the bed, ect.
So my husband took him to the shower, peed on him, and then bathed him. Cat was alive 13 years years and not once pissed on his things again! He spoke cat!
My family has a group chat and I have notifications silenced because my brother uses it to share all his work accomplishments. Meanwhile I’m overwhelmed here working 3 jobs barely making it but at least I make enough to pay bills and keep my daughter well fed while I survive on ramen and cereal.

We have a few family group chats.. We have just me, husband & our adult children. Then we have a family girl group which is me, my 2 sisters, 3 daughters and 2 nieces.. Then the “Big Fam Chat”, but we mainly use it for events.. but we definitely get off track in all of those groups!!!

I was part of a reunion group (I think I still am) and it was to schedule something and the last thing that was left is someone mentioning somebody in our graduating class had a warrant out for them for something awful (not gonna say) and I was like "That's gross, I hope he gets caught" and thats the last thing on there. Once I was running late to work and while literally running to the bus stop I tripped over and sprained my ankle. I text what I thought was my boss in the moment. But when I began getting flooded with messages I realized I had texted my works group chat. Every coworker and manager saw the message and were very worried about me. I wanted to disappear so bad 😂
At least they were concerned. I’m almost convinced that my twisted work group would have mostly snarky comments about my coordination/ambulatory abilities. 😉

I so agree about being added to a group chat …my phone stays on silent for most of the time because my sister invited me to a group chat with her and her friends and they all wake up at 4:30 in the morning😳😳😳😳 I work the graveyard shift so my phone is on silent …a lot🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂

Haha that was so funny! Thankfully I'm not in a lot of group chats because I'm visually impaired and I can only see what would end up happening. Luckily I use my magnifier to do everything on the phone so I don't screw things up too much or at all but sometimes it happens lol and Satan sacrificial waterfall sounds like a good heavy metal band name!
I love that the blurr is basically useless in the first chat post.. its there but when it get scrolled down it dissapears and see whats beneath the secret blur 😂
I am one of 6 kids so we do group chat about family stuff as we are scattered around the country. However, some of my siblings forget I’m 2 hours behind them and they will always text at 8am their time…..I’m still in bed!!! I had to remind them when we were all home at Christmas!! I’m tempted to send them a text at 10pm my time! 🤣🤣🤣
