Nice too see another channel doing linux stuff but I'd seriously recommend going Fedora or at least grabbing the driver PPA, you'll see some good performances gains and get access to DLSS frame gen
@@Zillawill Glad you enjoyed! I am still new to the Linux scene and have a lot to learn but I'll make sure to give it a look, thanks a lot for the tips.
@@BenchmarkDude no worries, another thing is as a general rule of thumb DX12 games currently will perform worse, sometimes only so slightly cause VKD3D has more overhead than DXVK from what I remember, so bit more time and should come closer
@@BenchmarkDude yeah it's a strange one with that, another issue it has is it memory leaks on RDNA2 and 3 cards when running on Vulkan which I'm unfortunately finding out right now since I'm replaying it haha
since you are using nvidia i suggest to use the following: 1- proton GE with their latest releases 2- latest nvidia drivers or anything above 560.3 since i think mint doesn't ship the latest drivers 3- you can try nobara or cachyOS since they ship with the most stable and cutting edge kernel+nvidia+proton releases.
@@ThePhenoix504FI3D1 Thanks for the tips, I'm still really new to Linux and its distros, so I am still trying to get the hang of it but I'll look it up for sure!
Pretty nice Linux support these days. I guess it's thanks to the Steam Deck that's based on Linux that they finally bothered to make games compatible with it. I have R7 7700x with RX 7900 and it's tempting me to try it out and see how it performs too
It's not that games are compatible with it it's due to work that's been put into proton, dxvk, vk3d, Mesa etc that means you can translate windows to Linux, if you don't play any MP games Linux is great especially on AMD GPUs
@@Deathdemon65 From what I see, at the moment, dualboot is the best option for me, which is the option I have right now. Seeing Linux now, is way better than it was years ago but still not perfect.
Thanks! I've tried to play it on Linux Mint but the game does not launch, I'm not sure if it's just me or if there is any workaround for that. I am still new to Linux.
@@bksmd1288 Not entirely sure tbh as I did not try but from what I see in the internet, I don't think so because of the anti-cheat. The game runs but you get kicked of lobbies. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
never seen another channel benchmark between two operating systems! Nice job
I think there are very few side by side comparisons, at least it is hard to find. Thanks a lot for the feedback, it really means much!

@Zillawill Yeah that makes sense, I had to use Vulkan on Red Dead Redemption 2, otherwise it would crash 😅

Unfortunately I forgot to show the graphics settings for Uncharted 4 but they're maxed out, my apologies.

Great video !
Thank you!
Awesome video.
Thanks for this video.
Thanks a lot.
I'm new sub :D
Welcome and thanks a lot for supporting the channel! :)
With such a high end pc I wouldn't go Linux. Probably a mid range to low end I might consider cause I saw Linux has less stuttering

this has to be, by far and wide, the most braindead shit ive ever read
Its not about that for me.
For me its about not having my data stolen by gates, no copilot garbage, telemetry and a crap ton on bloat.
@@prezlamen7906 Yeah, also this. That's why I'm trying to get used to Linux so I can do the switch when Windows 10 security updates end in 2025.

Sadly no as EA decided to break it after adding kernel level anticheat
What about ps3 emulation rpcs3. God of war 3
Can i play rainbow six siege on mint?

How did u managed to do that? Steam Proton?
To what exactly, to play the games? If so, go to Steam -> Settings -> Compatibility -> Proton Experimental.
@@BenchmarkDude Thanks.. will try
Sony games dont like Linux
