correct for petrol motors, but what confuses people is that BMW markets their genuine twin turbo diesels with the same nomenclature which is so stupid. I think it’s because the compression ignition motors need far more boost pressure than the petrol spark ignition cars which can manage with the simplified twin scroll setup.
Never mind the 21-year old. I'm 67 and need to move on from my Mazda MX5. Great 2nd car, which it was when I bought it to supplement my Honda CRV (now gone). But the MX5 is not at all practical as your only car (I'm a photographer so carry a lot of kit), so it's going. I want a rear wheel drive hatchback. BMW 1 series is the only option. M140i or M135i is too much so M125i seems to be the one. This video has helped confirm that. Will go for an auto gearbox with paddles. That's what we have on our X1 and it's great. Cheers.

On point with this video Calvin. I have a 230i which has the newer 2.0 turbo petrol and a manual box. I’d just like to say that an open diff sends power equally to both wheels so if a wheel has significantly less traction it will slip. On the other hand an LSD will try to send more power to a wheel if it has more traction to limit the slip of the other wheel.

First Step I have a 230i which has a bit more power than the 125i and 228i but not by much. I’ve found it to be more than enough power in the UK to overtake/position the car as desired. stephen moore sort of . Its one turbo which is duel fed . Ots set up with four internals that run on a two and two basis. If he tunes it but attaches a extra pump and a rotary system with splitters it can achieve 375 bhp but you have to rail the esp and even then tge traction either rips the alignment out in a week or starts slipping the stock clutch in 2 months . You can remap with a higher rev and dip the pullys but its hard to get right plus thr torque lets makes you change to fast imo

Just bought one, cheers for the info 🤘
Now that's a lot of car for 8k
No probs selling that
Keep up the good work bro always watching, im banned till august , been banned 18 months when over, only thing keeping me going is your vids! And man Ricky! Keep them coming g👊🏼
Hes name is calvin😂u got mixed up with ricky LLF
Tahmid Ahmed i waa talking about him and Rickys videos together. Mann i never knew his name was Calvin when it says Calvin car diary😂 and i watch every single vid every day lol its obvious i ment Calvin an Ricky, like the m4 vs the r. Plus i said AND man Ricky. 👍🏼😅
I’m 19 with one years no claims and I’m getting quoted £1035 with no black box which is cheaper then what my shitbox corsa was this year😂
Right car, wrong shape! Needs to be the coupe of you want to drive or the soft top if you want 90% driver car and bitchin summer days! As it's a downtuned 135i, for 300 quid you can remap it to the spec of the 135i. That straight 6 engine is a dream, rock solid, rapid, revs brilliantly, quick and sounds awesome for a 6pot in line lump! Amazing car! Digital clocks and an android head unit to bring it up to date and you have a future modern classic!
i have a 2015 125d mapped running 282bhp its a bit of a sleeper beast lol.
I have a 125i! Stage 1 tuned. Love the little monster 😊 mine is Glacier Silver, 19 inch black rims
Rut Cornelis what sort of bhp did you get from your remap? Stuck between one of these or the 125D?
John Reeves - mine is now 293bhp!
do you have an insta account where you post pics of your car? im interested to see
Time to sell the golf R. It got beaten so so bad lol.
CuteKitties beaten by a 125i???
performance isn't as big a deal as handling, in my opinion.
Calvin 😂😂 It Was Spinning Up In Sport Plus Because It Switches The Traction Into M Dynamic Mode Which Is Basically Half Off Lol It Will Let You Have A Play But It Will Grab You If You Get Carried Away For Them Man Moments ;)
There is no M dynamic mode on normal BMW, it just switches the traction off. For fully off you gotta hold it.
anyone noticed how far he has the steering wheel sticking out lmao
U spastic he has longer arms because he is tall
Looks like somebody paid for the indicators as an additional extra then.
People that think twin power turbo means twin scroll.....wrong!!
Yeah I won't be downgrading from my lovely thirsty 550i love it too much.
Don’t see enough Skodas on these channels
Xandroid36 lol my mates getting 535 bhp from a skoda its silly quick
I’m rockin a fabia 1.2tsi currently Pootin oot 110bhp....can take any 98 1.2 corsas at the lights sir
The manual gearboxes on bmws are shite... absolutely hate the gearboxes and the cars.... try reverse gear !! 😐
Lets see you on the race track. Only way to fully understand cars and yourself. Not good to be driving cars on the real roads putting lives at risk with higher speeds.
When u can drive properly u don’t drive under the speed limit Kel
The 114is can be remapped to match the power output of the 125i with ease
yeah cause they all use the same engine and turbo. just detuned
What about fuel consumption?
When's your Bentley Continental getting reviewed? I'd like to see that looks sweet.
A flat bottomed steering wheel and colour coded valance is what's missing from this car.
Single turbo 2 ports = power of 2 turbos in 1 turbo
stephen moore sort of .
Another Great video x :)
They share the engine with the F56 Mini Cooper s and people are seeing 300+ on those with minimal mods
N20 right? It is reliable?
I would buy a mk2 focus rs. The best hot hatch money can buy in my opinion.👍
I'm a 120i M Sport owner and I'm fuming bro. It's not soulless at all. It's same engine but 20bhp less. Underrated cars and engine. Golf GTI killer. I am looking at the remap also but only 7k on the clock atm so maybe at 10
New car then? Not the same engine and 35bhp difference
@@K11ARLL You're right actually. The B48 is a huge improvement over the old engine. I speced the car myself tho and in the paperwork and brochure it's 192bhp, which isn't 35 less 🤷🏾♂️
It's lush Calvin, nice colour 😁👌
Good video man Remap it to stage 2. Do a second part video. And is it more fun to drive to the Vw gti mk7?
How this can be my next car i just got licence and my country only accepts under 80kw cars for me to drive next 2 years shit i want this car soo much this is proper beast and good looking
Hi Calvin,i do like the 1 series BMW range, they are nice cars,it would be interesting to know what the servicing on these cost.great video.
What did you say your job is mate didn't hear you ?
In my opinion leather seats would make it 💯 👍
Ahah I’ve been watching these vids for ever and I haven’t subscribed yet lol
Yeah that one sub and his channels going to blow up
Bmw and reliable in the same sentence? Did I hear correctly?
Calvin, you should get someone with a remap 125i Turbo and see how good the car is?
Thinking between this and a mk6 GTI. Problem is the 125i (of this generation) only comes in auto where I live. FWD and manual or RWD and auto ? So hard to decide..
Have you picked on yet? Cause kinda the same decision’s i have
Went FWD but that car got totalled so think im going to go with the beamer.
@@derrickarmour you had an gti or?
Actually wound up with a Mazda speed three. Was a great car modded it up and made amazing power
@@derrickarmour oh sick man i had aan accent with my e46 currently driving a e87 118d looking to get a mk5 gti
Class vid mate! Hilarious you keep mentioning 21 year olds, I turn 21 in two weeks and am in the market for this an s3 8p or golf gti.
What's an 8p?
@@jonfranklin9849 8p is the S3 shape from 2004 to 2012
@@TEJPAL789 cool, makes sense now lol
Top man love ya vids:) very informative and educational:)
Nice one calvin
If you get a fiesta mk7 st in stock would love to see a video on that. Never had one on your channel and they are awsome cars and would like to see your opinion on them.
