Toycat I can’t believe you didn’t mention the wool strategy for the Ancient City. You can use the wool to block up the shriekers and sensors and they can be entirely disabled.
16:36 in ancient cities i use an axe on the chests loot them one at a time and high tail it back to the staging area to empty the loot into a double chest ive set up... this has the multi effect of removing the chest so you dont see it again and only setting off one sound violation. Dont even look at what you got till you are safe. Set up a staging area with a bed and a chest set your spawn empty your inventory and go.
@@codemisterz if you’re putting down every chest, you are removing and just refilling it when you get back to your staging area, you can go through the chests at your leisure… it’s monotonous, but the trick is to not grab more than one chest at a time unless they are all right next to each other to start… The mistake most people make is thinking they need more than an axe and a cake in there inventory … use swift sneak right when u find it other than that you don’t need to sort the spoils till you are safe and out of range of the warden.
I’ve looted a ton of ancient cities and have only summoned the warden twice, so here’s some pro tips! Theres pathways going through the ancient city made of wool, so you can run, jump, do whatever on these pathways, or mine it up to surround shriekers or sensors with! If you look around and notice there’s only one shrieker in an area (do make sure though!), you can just mine it while sneaking, and while any nearby sensors will go off once it’s broken there won’t be a shrieker for them to set off! If you do set off a shrieker, first of all, don’t panic since there’s a 4-strike system. I play with subtitles, and you can tell what strike you’re on by the subtitles, I really recommend you do the same if you’re able! (Warden approaches->Warden advances->Warden draws close->Warden appears) If you do set one off, as soon as it’s set off you have a couple seconds of grace period while it’s still shrieking to mine the shrieker, loot chests, run away, whatever, and while it’s still shrieking you won’t get another shriek. Your warning level does go down over time, I believe a level goes down once every 10 minutes? So if you know you’re at level 3, or even level 2 if you want to play it safe, you can just wait for 20-30 minutes and you can go set off more shriekers to your heart’s content! I tend to stop what I’m doing once I reach level 3 and wait until it’s at level 1 or lower. If you do summon the warden, it can’t see you and if you don’t make any noise it won’t hear you, but it will try to sniff you out so you can’t just stand still right next to it. You will have to either run away or tower up fairly far as soon as you can, then stay still as it does have the ranged attack if it detects you. If you’re far enough away and the warden doesn’t detect anything for about 5 minutes, it will burrow back underground. Be careful when you’re running and after the warden disappears, since your warning level doesn’t reset when one spawns, so although 2 can’t appear too close to each other, if you set off another, further away shrieker while running away or after it disappears, it will summon another warden! These are just some things I’ve learned while completely clearing every city I’ve found of all shriekers and sensors (I made one into my base since mobs can’t spawn in deep dark), so I hope it helps! Feel free to add anything else!
Good tip! I’ve gotten a few like that, and one really annoying one both underground and right on the edge of lava. Tricky ones like those are part of why I try to stay below warning level 3, although I will say there are a couple ways to deal with these. If you’re very lucky, either the shrieker won’t have any sensors below ground with it, so you can just block off or mine the above ground sensors. It’s a bit trickier if it’s in a cave below with sensors, but if it’s a larger cave you might be able to mine into it from a different location, then sneak to break the shrieker, although this would take a lot of trial and error to find the cave. If all else fails, I’m sure you could try to mess around with creeper explosions, as I believe tnt will trigger shriekers via sensors but mob sounds won’t. If you don’t want to waste your time though, the easiest method is probably as the above reply said: just dig to it as fast as possible, making sure you never go above warning level 3.
Edit: if you do want to try the creeper method, you would have to find a nearby biome other than deep dark, and make sure you don’t get hurt by the explosion as I believe that will set off sensors
The ancient city is simultaneously the scariest structure for first timers, and the easiest structure to beat. Placing, breaking, walking and running on wool doesn't make sound, and wool stops sounds from being transmitted. Convieniently, there are 2 blocks deep wool paths everywhere, meaning you'll have more than enough wool to block all shriekers from receiving sound, or alternatively block chests from transmitting sound. If you happen to spawn a warden by accident, just run along a wool path, and it won't hear you, and will despawn. I'd say by far the structure that is the hardest is the bastion (unless you know speedrun strats), followed by the End city. Both will have enemies swarming you if you aren't careful, and they can be really tricky to navigate. Just remember that you are always allowed to place and break blocks wherever/ whenever you want. Ocean monuments are tricky, but guardians have to have line of sight to you for 5 seconds before they attack, so just creating a pillar and swimming in circles around it prevents you from being hit. If you are in java, you can place doors to create air pockets, or alternatively using a stack of leaves and a silk touch & efficiency 5 hoe allows you to clear larger air pockets even when you have mining fatigue.
My personal prediction for the trial key/ vault room is that you can make a personal room in the vault room like a bigger ender chest and whenever you you access it with your key the thing set up there in any other one will appear. If you don’t use a get that is somehow linked up though you can access the second area with the main boss room.
I find that unlikely considering that kind of technology is End related, and it would probably be related to the Ender Chest in some way if that was the case.
I found my first/only so far woodland mansion on my own and that was actually a lot of fun to clear with my limited skills and such. Only died once lol. (Extra bonus feature of the default coastal village seed is one close enough to spawn to just stumble upon it). Otherwise I have most of these left to find/clear in achievement survival… finding seems harder.
Outro joke was okay, but splash text was S-tier, brought the whole thing up to a 9/10! Comment saying something nice to encourage Toycat to make more videos! 😊👍❤️
19:07 I believe a good strategy for killing brutes is to put yourself in a very very safe box, and then afk for like 2-3 hours. In that time, it is basically guaranteed that all the brutes will have either trapped or killed themselves due to the very unfriendly fiery nature of the nether, and the stupidity of minecraft AI.
This is how I do ancient city raids Its pretty much the same as shown but there are some differences If you can, craft some shears and get a good amount of wool from the city, then craft it into carpet and now you have something you can use to reach high places or climb walls, you can destroyva shrieker or sensor as long as you are absolutely sure there aren't more around. If you are already in danger of spawning the warden, when you are trying to loot some chest and it is impossible not to spawn it, you can either take out the shreikers one by one or loot the chests and run for your life. Either way the warden will be summoned, I don't think you need to run, even if you don't have Swift sneak yet, simply getting far away in time will make the warden wander around for some time and go away eventually, during that time if you are far enough from him you can try to loot some other chests, just don't spawn too many wardens,. Before doing all that you need to plan your escape plan from the room, and I do not recommend running since that will likely trigger more shriekers, and for the last, destroy the chests you have already looted so you don't go to the same places again for nothing
