Player: "But doesn't it bother you that you're trapped down here in the Undermountain?" Halaster: "The Undermountain is my world...does it bother you that you're trapped in your world?" Player: "……!"
I'm playing this campaign - it's looooooooooooooooong, but the DM I have is a blast to play under. The insanity of Halaster and his apprentices is a great opportunity for DMs to have both comedic and serious elements to it, and he's taking advantage of that full stop.
Except at Myth Drannor, where they just up and left an entire city to be looted by neer-do-well murderhobos. Maybe they didn't want to repeat the ritual that created the knot in the weave though.
Halaster is still a Human, the Human race is not older than the Elven race, there was an Elven city before Undermountain's dungeon was there, . . . What are you talking about?
You missed the perfect opportunity to wrap the story of the Shadar-Kai into that story. It could easily have been the spot where the Raven Queen was drained, and sent into the Shadowfell with her people. That could easily explain the problem within the weave, and give context as to why Hallister cannot die. Plus, it weaves more of the lore of the multi-verse into the world.
Name me one more city the elves deliberately scrubbed on their way out the door. This sounds kinda lame. How about there is a corrupted mythal down there? The Drow left a portal to the lower planes open. Come on man. You can do better.
Maybe make his race a mystery. He can change his appearance at will (because he's an insanely powerful wizard) and since he's so old nobody remembers his original form
The Weave of Undermountain is kinda like Hotel California. You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave!

"elves are just like that" we know Chris. We know.

"The upper layers of Undermountain" is fun to say:3
"Blackcloak" I wonder if he is a bad guy...
Cloakist
"cuz elves are like that"
Hes basically a mega powerful Zookeeper of literally anything and everything he wants
Casual F-bomb drop, those careless elves...
Reminds me of what happened to Garrosh Hellscream. With the Siege of Orgimmar. I love this campaign module
As i say before: Best place in the multiverse! :)
This looks absolutely amazing
Just ordered Dragon heist and Dungeon of mad mage. CANT WAIT YEEEEEEEET
The weave of the under mountain sounds like the abyss in Made in Abyss.
I keep hearing them say "order dragon heist today" but i keep going to the site and there isn't a pre-order button (as of typing this)
same
"Older thant the elves themselves"
Halaster is still a Human, the Human race is not older than the Elven race, there was an Elven city before Undermountain's dungeon was there, . . . What are you talking about?
Any books or reading materials you can recommend to read about Undermountain and Halaster?
"because elves are just like that" Right, which is why the Realms are barren of elven ruins... Oh, wait, no...
I'm excited but... What's happening with the mystic and artificer?
RUclips channel posting at incredible hihg speed
Cool I like Lore.
Anyone else feel like Halaster is just another version of Acererak?
Nope just you
Radical

Stealing this
Dude this is genius!!
I thot he went mad because of a cataclysmic vision he had..?
This sounds good. Not Greyhawk good but decent for Forgotten Realms...
UnderMountain = Halaster's Phylactory?
The Beerex so blow up the mountain got it .
ayy nicela

Anyone changing Halaster into a dwarf? Not enough non-human villians for me.
Jarlaxle is very non-human.
Maybe make his race a mystery. He can change his appearance at will (because he's an insanely powerful wizard) and since he's so old nobody remembers his original form
@@Licjrif you read the lore he has clones of him selves of any species and gender.
So a dwarf version of the mad mage is doable
Stealing the idea of the mad magr
