what an improvement. I feel that the white dial, was a definite improvement. I would like to see it, w/ the stock bracelet, but I also understand, why you wouldn't want, to repeat the process, if you have no intention of wearing. it I too, do my own watch repairs/modifications. Tedious work, and definitely not, for those who have little patience, or aren't mechanically inclined. Really great presentation, on your part, w/ a step by step breakdown. Very informative, and quite realistic, IMHO. You're a born teacher. Thank you for sharing this process. Seriously, one of the best that I've seen. And I've seen many

Really nice job mate! Love the color scheme you went with. Beauty of a dial as well. I built myself a DLC SKX with hacking/hand winding, a black ceramic YachtMaster bezel insert and double domed sapphire with AR coating and black SKX hands with an original Seiko SKX007 dial. It's a great sense of accomplishment getting jonny'd up and putting together a nice modded piece. 🤣

The movement in mine holds +2 /day consistently. Water resistance is great. Thanks to you, I'll be modding mine in the near future.

You can use a plastic bottle cap as a casing cushion. It helps a lot when you’re putting it back in. Plus bottle caps are easy to get. I used one for a year before I bought a proper one. Also you need to do a full 12 hour spin with the hand’s because I have seen issues where an indices hit at 11 o’clock.

Dan, very nice mod and I’m glad that you chose a dial with a logo and some information on it because a completely sterile dial would have made it look like a $5.00 watch picked up in a Sunday market. The watch dial would have looked much nicer with minute markers and the hands are quite unusual but nice and I particularly like the trident second hand.

I bought a PD-1639 recently. I tried using a torch to remove the cyclops but it wouldn't budge. I ended up popping the crystal out of the watch case. Then I tried heating the cyclops some more, and it still would not move an millimeter. I suspect that the newer crystals are made with the cyclops as one piece. So just perhaps a warning for anyone else to try removing it.

    Hello
Can you please tell me if it is possible to change the crown in any of the Pagani models ?
I have an allergy to nickel and purchased pd1692 which I loved but the crown is made of bronze and coated with nickel so it gives me a skin reaction if I wear it for a longer time. I'm thinking of replacing it with a stainless steel one but don't know if it is possible. I'll appreciate any advice. Thank you.

    • @watchmewithwatches
      @watchmewithwatches  Год назад +1

Hi, I would say any crown is replaceable. It would require a bit of research though to know if an aftermarket crown would thread onto the crown tube in the watch. Normally, a watch maker when replacing a crown, would either order a like for like replacement, or have a box of multiple crowns to pick one that works. Hope this helps a bit. Regards, Dan.

From Dlw, the bezels they sell (that are sloped) fit. Plenty of choice.

Which bezel insert fits? SKX007? SRPD? Both?

Almost forgot...do the SKX bezel inserts fit the 40mm or 43mm Pagani?

@@christopherstasiak6388 from my experience, the sloped bezel inserts for a sxk007 are the right ones. They are for the 40mm pagani design case size watches with a rotating bezel.

So a 43mm Pagani will accept a 43mm bezel insert? I dont see the two tone gold/silver watch model in 40mm on Aliexpress. But I do see 43mm bezel inserts on eBay.

    Looks great!
I'm looking for buying one of these and replace the bezel with a dressy non-rotating one, do u know what will fit?

Good question! I don't actually know I'm afraid. I did have luck with a vostok amphibia smooth bezel. Had to stick it with hypocement. Not sure that would work specifically for this case though.

Great video man, sorry i am a newbie but my pd 1661s bezel also doesnt line up do you think the dipping it in nail polish remover part would hurt the water resistance?

How do you avoid setting the time between 10pm to 4am without seeing the date change?

Im not sure, can anyone else help?

The problem isn't setting the time, it's changing the day/date when it's in the stage of changing by the watch. Some watches take more time to change the day/date. You can figure that out by changing the time until the day/date is completely changed. You don't want to change the day/date when it's in the stage of changing...I think this is what you're referring to.

Hi, very cool result. I have just even started to consider a mod like this and can’t help but to wonder if you wanted to lose the date window for simplicity or it was not an option in the scheme you wanted? Secondly, I have a very similar Pagni with a slightly different bezel (dished out edges instead of coined) and would like to change out the face and hands for improved loom but nut sure hoe to confirm the face size for parts ordering? Thanks and very well articulated video.
