Perfect video. Thank you. I like that you actually pulled the dial feet so this wasn't another video like the ten dozen others on RUclips. I've now built 13 watches and there are often tiny intricacies that standard build videos miss. Dial feet removal being a "custom" detail in modding. I have found that a bezel insert adhesive strip makes a great alternative for dots because it's thin and doesn't need to be folded over. It just needs to be cut to length because of the smaller diameter. I also learned the hard way that some hands are on really tight and when you pop them off, they really pop. If you put a piece of plastic over them as well, you can prevent them from pinging off into the great beyond.
Hello Dan, What a brilliant video. It's so great that not only is the video very detailed, but you have documented a step by step guide, and provided a list of all the materials/tools. So extremely useful for anyone attempting to do this mod. I really enjoyed this video, and so helpful to me personally as it is helping me decide on tools to buy, and building my confidence to try a mod myself. Thank you so much for putting this together as I know it took lots of work. Much appreciated. Cheers
I've seen loads of mod videos doing exactly the same job (cos I'm sad like that) but this was my favourite. Touched on many key points others skipped. I'm probably never even gonna try it myself (which kinda makes watching the many mod videos I've seen even sadder...)! Top job pal
Another excellent video mate. I have watched you for a while now, and enjoy your work. You've certainly got better! It's refreshing to have a watch guy, who isn't a pretentious snob, and likes to have a laugh. Top bloke 👍
Yes for this video! My Pagani sub homage is a black PVD Milgauss homage now! Tons of shops on Ali but also check eBay for parts (some UK sellers even have stuff at decent prices). These cheapish Ali watches are good fun to experiment with. Thanks for sharing.
Outstanding video. Makes me want to try something like that... unencumbered by the thought process. Inspiring, but no doubt disaster in the making - for me.
I have quiet a few of the tools now to try a mod. Going to pick the last few bits up an have a go on a pagani(not too expensive if I mess up an bin it😂) Great video thank you👍🏻
Thanks for the review. Have you put any other straps on it? Would like to see it with a leather band. Looking at it from lug to lug with the steel band makes it look like a big chunk of flat metal on the wrist. Hoping another strap made from. Leather or canvas will brake it up abit.
Excellent description. I am interested in modding the 44 mm case Pagani PD-1674. Do you happen to know what the dial size it uses? I cannot find this spec. anywhere. Thank you!
You're getting good at this 👍 . I like the finished watch, but in my opinion, it would be even better with a smooth bezel. Thanks for another good video.
I've easily removed a Pagani cyclops as described, but a Tandorio is frustratingly robust. Fingers crossed third times a charm. I'd rather not have to take drastic measures, some concerns cooking the seals.
My next personal project will be some new, longer hands for my cursed Benyar. Because Tongji hands are basically impossible to get I'll just buy some cheap ETA 2836 hands which have ever so slightly larger holes (hour, minute) and squeeze them a bit with pliers. Yes, that's the best solution I can some up with, lol. Let's hope it will work, in the worst case I'll at least get a seconds hand out of it.
@@Alias_Anybody Customs duty is charged at a flat rate of 2.5% on goods up to a total value of EUR 700. The Tongji handset is under 20 Euro; therefore you will only be paying 2.5% import tax of that. Regards.
I'm guessing here... but he showed the dimpled lever bit going away when pulling the crown out to hack the movement. Had to push the crown back in for the lever to be in the right place. Pressing the dimpled lever to remove/release the crown looked to bypass the stem's interaction with the movement. Maybe?
Because the movement keyless works (the bits the stem operate) are still in the zero position, as if the stem is fully pushed in. When he pressed the release to remove stem it disengages the keyless works.
Hi ! i have a question, im able to can swap the flutted becel in the parnis datejust for a new smooth becel ? I would love to buy one without the flutted becel and with the oyster bracelet, but since its not possible im thinking buy one and mod it.
I have a San Martin SN020-G with a NH35 that i want to change the crown on. How do I know what crowns will fit the case? I know NH35 use tap 10 but does that also fit all cases?
Can you please tell me the size of the og seconds and minute hand Frome the centre. I want to upgrade these with beefier set of hands from Ali. Thank you in advance.
A nodate field watch with a fluted bezel and 200m WR...something I thought that only I thought was a fantastic idea. Great mod. I'm after a fluted bezel for a Vostok Amphibia is anyone has any advice.
It was an interesting modding tutorial you're very skilled at doing mods. I'm just not convinced by the outcome. Normally I'd criticise AliExpress watchmakerscfor writing "certified chronometer" on the dial. Cheers Dan!
G'day from beautiful Thailand. I have a case for a PD1645, an NH36A movement and a Brain May " Red Special" dial plus a Mercedes hand set for a Mod I am about to undertake. But I'm going to need some dial dots I think. Question. Where can I got some Dial dots. I've searched high and low. Love your presentations. Keep up the good work. JANBOY. RN. Rtd
Gotta learn to keep your gloves on the whole time. Lot of cringe worthy moments especially grabbing the sides of the dial with bare fingers. Also, pull the date wheel if you're covering it.

Wow.. Menarik modify nya.. Dayjust PD jadi makin beda.. Sy punya PD ini pengin juga dibikin custom spt itu. Keren

Bit late to the party but I hope you've finally started tinkering with watches?
Your video is fun and educational to watch. I learned a lot thanks sir
Fantastic, I don't have the confidence to do a mod as extensive as this one just yet but when I do I'll definitely reference this video.
Great dial and hands combo. I'm going to have to watch this again. I tried the cyclops trick and the crystal flew out and melted the table cloth 🤣

Thanks Tim !
Thanks for the video! Really needed a detailed guide for my first time modding. Keep the great videos coming!
Thanks, will do!
This is the most amazing tutorial I have ever seen! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us and explaining everything so clearly !
Thank you for your kind words! So happy I have helped. Regards, Dan.
Great video, you are becoming my favourite watch channel!
Quality tutorial. Best I’ve seen to date. Thank you

Nice job. I have that dial and hands in my "stuff." Perhaps I'll use them now. Looks good. Keep at it!

Do it on a Pagani Design and you don't risk too much money!
This is a fun video. I ended up with a couple of Pagani's. I think I'll try this as well. Props.
Super cool modifying guide

I’m going to buy and AP dial and put it in a pagani royal oak
love these vids, thanks alot! I've got a couple of projects coming up that this will no doubt help me with, cheers!

Great video dan .channel getting better all the time
Thanks.🤺
Thanks Mal!
Oh to have hands as steady as yours. Mine are fine until I pick up a watch hand. Good tutorial.
Great clear video and love the dial colour. IMHO a different(leather?) strap would match the dial better. Cheers

Quick question, will a 28.5 mm dial fit in the Pagani case? Your link to the dial goes to basic watch tools.
Can you recommend where to buy this anchor greasing pad?
Sure, I got mine on amazon.
I know this is old but any chance you have an idea of the case back size? Trying to modify mine with a covered caseback
Interesting content. Regards.
Thankyou sir
May I know what is the exact dial size? Am looking to change the dial as well… Crown size?
Do you think I can take a cotton swap with some alcohol on it and take off the logos and stuff make it more minimal
ive never actually tried that, worth investigating
Where are the dial and hands from!?
Question if it's an NH35 movement why doesn't it hack when you take the stem out?

great video!!! can you say to me, if a 31mm dial fits in this watch?
Hi, im afraid it wont. Regards, Dan

Good question, but unfortunately I have no idea! Maybe measure the threaded part with calipers and see what that size is first?
Looks great....🏴⌚🏴⌚
What do you think the odds are that the bracelet for this watch would fit the steeldive sd-1953?
It's possible, it's surprising how many straps are interchangeable

Is it still a handful of times if you have six fingered hands .
Can someone confirm the face size? He edited that part out! I have the same watch and would like to swap the face as well.

A Chippie with a wobbly table? Get it fixed lazy 😂 Great video mate, always enjoy a good mod. Cheers Dan. 🐧
Just what I was thinking, I always used a empty Woodbine packet
😂🤣😂
Cool video.
Brilliant video, super interesting
One thing though, screw in the crown for the outdoor shots you wally 🤣🤣
Lol, I was a bit tired after filming
We call them Jimmy hats in the US. First time I’ve heard Johnny’s.
FICOU EXCELENTE 👍👍 🇧🇷
Hi whats the size of the dial?
29.5mm in this video. I measured my pd1645 original at 30mm so be careful
A smooth bezel would finish that off nicely.
That's why I haven't bought this watch. A smooth bezel would be great.

Poster Tack Works in place of Bergeon . I paid 99 cents for the Poster Tack A Dollar Tree aka Lb Store
"You finish it off by hand..." 👀
Would a Rolex dial fit on this? 😂
If you move main hand to 6 and put 2nd on 12 your date will be 30min off
Thats right, oops
You always make from nice watches an ugly monster
Lol, at least you watch my videos thanks!
Gotta learn to keep your gloves on the whole time. Lot of cringe worthy moments especially grabbing the sides of the dial with bare fingers.
Also, pull the date wheel if you're covering it.
Thanks! . No need to cringe, dial was fine. Why pull the date wheel?
Forgot to ask, send me a link to the mods or watch builds you have done, would love to take a look!
Q: How do you ruin a watch
A: Put it on a NATO
Lol. Luckily thats easy to swap!
You’re waffling a bit . It would go better if you didn’t invisage .
