I just got into watch repair in February. I found a dozen old watches and a pocket watch my late wife gave me on our first anniversary in 1993. I then Bought a Diesel Rasp and began a micro brands shopping spree. Vostok Komandirski, a K39 which is my 4th , should be here this week, I got the new Panzera Aquamarine pro diver on a mesh strap came Wednesday, which I opted for a yellow rubber strap I am wearing now. Pagani Hulk I bought made me decide I wanted a Batman, which is how I found your channel. That's going to be here today. Can't wait. I bought Alie Express Pagani, Cadisen, Gauguin moon phase, Starking, and I bought a Phoibos Bronze Leviathan 45mm black dial from Long Island watches. Love it. Timex,Casio G-Shock Ga-100c and a Edifice efv-530d. Orient Bambino Gen 3&4 blue, grey dial was the first mechanical I started with in February. Love them. 35 watches total and all less than the one Breitling Avenger I almost bought in March. Instead of one $4000 watch, I decided to buy micro brands. I have been to my Rolex dealer and adore getting the full sales pitch from a new salesperson. I went to see if they sold Tudor. Its been fun this year. I am done buying for now. Three watch boxes full, so it's time to sit back and wear a different one each day. Love your channel. Wish I found it earlier
Very nice mod Dan, normally I’m not overly keen on green watches but this looks good, almost like a British Racing Green, so if whoever ends up with the watch and has a hankering to buy a vintage Bentley, the watch and car will match!! The only thing that I don’t like about the watch is the sterile dial, it makes it look a bit like a nameless watch bought in a Sunday market. If the dial had a simple, but eye catching design / logo under the 12:00 and “Automatic 200 meters” at the bottom above the 6:00, that would look great. Keep up the excellent work.
I want to buy a NH35 or 36 and build something up out of that from parts via Aliexpress. I built earlier this year a similar project being a Vostok Amphibia 090 with the iconic "radio room" dial (090's never had the radio room as they were reserved for comms staff on ships and naval bases and found on 060's) and utilised only new parts from online sellers and apart from a meltdown with second hands during the build it has remained an absolute astonishing piece. Have learned the pitfalls a plenty with such a build, it was paint buildup on the second hand itself in the little hole that caused the initial problems but now I know to carefully ream out the little tube bit for perfect fit.
Nice Job! It looks great! I really like the contrast between the green and the orange seconds hand. I'm in the middle of my first mod, but I had to set it aside because I was struggling with the seconds hand. I kind of mangled it trying to put it back on. Your video has inspired me to take another shot at it. Just need to pick up some new hands. Thanks for the links, I'll be taking a look at them for parts. Cheers and keep up the good work!
Practi8ce makes perfect. One can buy a lot of junk watches on ebay to practice doing hands.I recently got my first set of 3 hand applicator tools. Each one is a different size
You have inspired me! I have an old Seiko that I no longer wear, and now feel confident I could mod it, just for fun, and if it works out, start wearing it again.
Great fun! I've fallen down this rabbit hole , so far I've modified a SKX007, a Sekonda quartz, and assembled a field and an Aviator's watch from parts, I'm just getting up the courage to modify a 2824 Calvin Klein. :-)
@@watchmewithwatches I'm still enjoying mine! Need to do a NTTD comparison! I've just ordered the Phylida Milgauss homage, cant wait they have me hooked haha
Hi Dan, that certainly turned out to be a good looking modding, you have got a gift for modding. I would have ended up with a pig in a poke , but I’m learning more every time I watch your videos, so just might try to do something different with one of my watches. Keep safe and well in this crazy world.
Sorry for potentially a dumb question, but what size bezel insert did you order to replace? I would like to modify the same pagani watch by changing the blue bezel to the green one.
I have a TW Steel TW01 with quartz movement. It’s a big case, do you think I could get an NH35A or similar in instead of the quartz movement? Is this something you’ve ever done or tried?
@@paulinvader8428 fantastic! Yeah, mine is a canteen one too so I’m glad to hear someone else had success! Did you follow a tutorial or anything like that?
@@nathski22 no tutorial just chucked the movement in, they also do an automatic version of the canteen using the same case so knew it would fit, let me know if you need any help 😀
Insert is a bit tricky, due to its larger size. Measure the size of your standard bezel insert, and look at a parnis insert that is that size. Hands, I would get from "one second closer"
Good question, but I am not sure. Would need some measurements from the steeldive (I no longer have mine). If it does, I feel a yacht master homage coming along. Great idea, let's see if that's possible!
Very nice job, totally unique, your videos are ace has you dont bore with uselesd crap, cheers mate, you are getting really good, especially the puffing, but more finger johnnies, keep the puffer puffing mate.👍👍👍👍

Give it a go! Mistakes or not, you will learn and be rewarded. I have mostly bought my dials and hands for nh35 movement watches from either Namoki, DLW or One Second Closer. The quality is top notch 👌
Love it! Looks really nice! I would personally try a curved end green rubber strap on it to make it look even better, but that leather makes it look really formal and gentleman appropriate haha! Greetings from Madrid Spain!

It breaks easily when you remove the bezel insert from the watch. Is the bezel insert made of plastic or metal?

Hi! Big fan of yours, i have an orient bambino open heart and i want to change it's dial with a branded blue one. Can you give a guide where to look?
If you can take the watch apart to measure the dial, you can then buy any dial that is that size, and attach it via dial dots.

The dial should be 28.5 and the bezel 38/31.5 if it uses standard skx mod parts
That absolutely gorgous!! Great work!
Really i think this design is spot on. Put your own brand on it and it will sell like hot buns.
