After doing everything I could do to possibly keep my ex. I now don't fear to walk away from a guy who isn't that interested in me. I tell them exactly how i feel. My dad says i should play the game. I disagree, I don't have time to waste. I need to be authentic with myself. Ive stopped asking if they like me and ask if i like them. Ive learnt: - never try change someone and never try to change myself to fit in with someone else. ( it will never work)
If you decide to do long distance.... realistically... someone has to give up something in order for the relationship to survive long term... bc going back and forth btwn hometowns eventually gets old.... somebody will have to move

I am making no choices of late. I got involved with a man soon after my husband passed. I thought I had found the second ‘love of my life’. I hadn’t dated since I was 21 and I was so naive getting back out into the dating field. I realized after that experience that I needed to concentrate on me and heal.
Wow I am going thru the same thing now. Got fixed up with an older gentleman also widowed. Normally I wouldn’t be interested in his type but I’ve was lonely. Hearing from a man's perspective is refreshing. I also want you to know that this video resonates with me. After 6 failed marriages and a few years as an empty nester, I have been on a journey of self-discovery. It's not so much a lack of self esteem, it's a combination of jumping quick and thinking later, and then self-loathing for making that choice to fall for the wrong guy. This past 2 years have been very healing for me. I spent the better half of 2022 bouncing around the country, ignoring all offers of a relationship, learning what I want to be when I grow up. I just started thinking about dating again recently and decided I'm not in a hurry. I can go on and on, but I really just want to say thank you for being you. 😊
I've been asked how I was able to abstain from a sexual relationship for over 15 years. It is as you say in this video. I am happy enough or content. My life also has purpose, so I feel full.. incorporating my Bae into my life is just a bonus.
It hasn't been that difficult to be celibate for over 10 years since I realized I had to up my standards and create and maintain boundaries. However, I did have a 4 year battle with cancer in between that put dating on hold. I still have some health issues, but I have other goals besides seeking a relationship and I'm no spring chicken. I'm just happy I beat that horrible disease.

I have really worked on that self love so much that I don't need any man for my happiness nor do I question myself if something doesn't work out. However, I would push back a bit - when you talk about texting good morning and good night being lack of self love. That isn't an absolute. I don't need that from what I call a Needy Heart - but I do value connection and consistent communication. Too often people let too much time pass without communicating or breadcrumb. It is frustrating and exasperating. And honestly, so many scammers and fakes on the apps that do this. I think consistency - plus an insistence on speaking and meeting - is a huge sign that a man is actually ready, willing and available on all levels for an actual relationship.

I don’t agree that Men don’t value Women who have sex on the first date . That sounds rather 1950s to Me . For the Man who is Sincere in wanting a relationship this won’t put Him off. If It does I’d question his view of hypocrisy or double standards . He was involved too! Having said this I’m not suggesting Women have sex straight away . But We are human after all. People are hurt and seeking no strings attached FUN, Jonathon. I've been texting a guy out in Oregon (I live in FL) who's not even divorced yet. Yes, I know that's dangerous so I'm being super cautious. He doesn't seem to be interested in the deeper conversations I like so I doubt he'll be a serious candidate for my guy. In my mind, he's in the just friends category, which means no sex! Yes, it's so frustrating dealing with the dysfunctional dating pool and I tend to sink in it. Why do men feel this strong need to be married at this stage in life? I wonder about this need, it’s hard enough to find someone compatible and if the other person may not want marriage, at least initially, the relationship must end?
The Swedish I believe have a quote of “ Just Enough”. It covers everything in their lives. As an English woman I too try to follow this ethos. Works 90% of the time !
Everyone has some level of dysfunctionality to face and work on. Many have more deeper issues than others. As an Empath, I felt Marie was very comfortable sharing her insights and perspectives. It was other elements that I felt could have changed her demeanor , which then could be radiated in her desire to be involved. It was a delight to hear her inputs. When I was on dating site many men would state on their profile they are looking for someone to complete them or for their better half. Maybe they mean well but It was unattractive to me. I’m curious how you feel about those phrases ??

I haven't seen my home state California since 1973 I'm so sad I had to use my savings to survive in this motel while looking for subsidized apartment. I was going to use some of it to take a little vacation out to California by train, and go up the coast to see it. How wonderful that would have been I hope I can save my money up again and maybe do it. I've got to get that subsidized housing. Been on the waiting list for two-and-a-half years. People are hurt and seeking no strings attached FUN, Jonathon. I've been texting a guy out in Oregon (I live in FL) who's not even divorced yet. Yes, I know that's dangerous so I'm being super cautious. He doesn't seem to be interested in the deeper conversations I like so I doubt he'll be a serious candidate for my guy. In my mind, he's in the just friends category, which means no sex! Yes, it's so frustrating dealing with the dysfunctional dating pool and I tend to sink in it. LOL It's not that I don't have my issues, I do. However, I'm doing the work but lots of singles think they are perfect. They're in DENIAL. It's heartbreaking. As you've said before, we focus on scarcity, not abundance. Most humans are emotionally immature and even shallow. But I'm intentional in dating and always have been.

Everyone has some level of dysfunctionality to face and work on. Many have more deeper issues than others.
As an Empath, I felt Marie was very comfortable sharing her insights and perspectives. It was other elements that I felt could have changed her demeanor , which then could be radiated in her desire to be involved.
It was a delight to hear her inputs.

I wish I could pursue a loving relationship I've got all the tools. I'm sure of myself. But trying to find subsidized housing is like finding a needle in the haystack still trying to find a home for myself here in Houston. Been fascinated lately with the UFO hearings. Sex will have to be something I work at with a partner. Menopause does this to you also some men have problems too and they have to work at it also. It's not as simple as it was when we were young but it is still worth working towards in a relationship. Even if you are working towards survival it is still better to work towards survival in tandem together with somebody else. This hot weather this summer makes me believe that we are at the beginning of a really hard survival time for our world. Still makes me believe that it would be better to do it with somebody else too.
I haven't seen my home state California since 1973 I'm so sad I had to use my savings to survive in this motel while looking for subsidized apartment. I was going to use some of it to take a little vacation out to California by train, and go up the coast to see it. How wonderful that would have been I hope I can save my money up again and maybe do it. I've got to get that subsidized housing. Been on the waiting list for two-and-a-half years. Say a little prayer for me everyone. I would so like to see California again so bad. Feel that air no humidity! See that ocean! He informed me usually its the woman who has to approach him . We talk everyday and he’s gradually opening up . How do I handle a man so shy ? He is divorced 10 yrs and his ex passed away 2 yrs ago . He doesn’t go out just work to home . He does work around the house, his garden and that’s his life for now . He expresses that he feels I may find some one else because he is so shy .
