    At 10:30, Danya missed the very clever Bb5, and if black BLOCKS with Bc6, then you can take the free Queen, black cant take back because of bishop pins bishop

    • @christianaustin782
      @christianaustin782 3 года назад +3

      I think you're right, nice find. Black is under no obligation to block with the bishop though, but if the black king moves or if knight blocks, you get basically the same thing as in the game

    "With experience you're going to learn how to break it into its component tactical parts."
    A U.S. Army War College professor once said something similar to me (re: my thesis on bridging the gap between strategy and tactics in the Clausewitzian matrix) and I thought..."so...finish my Master's...finish my Ph.D...finish my postgraduate internship...experience WW3...win WW4, and I might begin to comprehend the art of war."

      @yzfool6639 3 года назад +4

      I'll save you some time. In that 3 Variation of the World War Opening, the Nuclear Exchange variation is a direct way to bridge the gap between strategy and tactics. The resulting positions are equal, cannot be avoided, and there is no dynamic play remaining after the exchanges.

    • @Bialthaar
      @Bialthaar 3 года назад

      @@yzfool6639 Sure there is. MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) more or less guarantees that nuclear weapons won't taken into consideration as a viable tactic exactly for the reason that you stated. Many authors have reasoned that modern warfare will be fought on the hypothetical adoption of nuclear technology not even existing to begin with. Of course the theory of rational leaders disagrees with that notion that all leaders are always rational but nonetheless we will be likely to not see any nuclear warfare ever.

    I'm 1500 rapid and I think this is impossible for me to calculate in 10 minutes. I've had this position before and the only sensible move after bxf3 is to offer queen trade. There's no way a 1500 will play into this line. Nice game.

    • @yzfool6639
      @yzfool6639 3 года назад +1

      What makes it impossible for 1500 to calculate all checks and captures in any position? Maybe calculation isn't the reason you might miss the best move after 'bxf3'.

    • @zokisvasta
      @zokisvasta 3 года назад

      @@yzfool6639 Maybe it isn't. I don't know honestly. All I see is that I'm in a world of complications after that move if I don't retake and I usually just give up after that because I don't see a way to evaluate all the positions that Danya laid out in a reasonable amount of time. I usually give up because after a couple lines that you get a losing result there's no reason for me to believe there is a line where I can come out ahead so I just pick the simple move. I guess it helps knowing in advance that there is a way to come out ahead.
      Also if I'm in this kind of position where I'm seemingly (for me) forced to trade queens and ruin my pawn structure, when analyzing I'll look for a way where I could've avoided getting in that position in the first place, not salvaging the position after bxf3.

    The one unrealistic thing about this series when he says "the game is over" after winning a pawn or a piece.
