you can do the command /gamerule mobGriefing off and it should disable creepers blowing up blacks as well as any mob destroying blocks in general like doors.
that video would be like 30-40mins long only getting to probs day 3 lol I don't like hardcore anyway, yes it adds a challenge but meh, not my thing, I like to have a challenge but also keep it fun, dying in hardcore would just ruin my vibe lol

The Goatman cant swim, he will just walk on the bottom of the river. If you have a boat, you can wait him out in the water
