Once again Scentsy shows their true colors. They don’t care about their customers or consultants, only the bottom line. I remember learning in my business classes that a company who cuts their way to a profit is a bad sign.
You are a hundred percent right about people buying with credit cards. That’s why the website is useful. Not only will most people not want to give out the cc info to a consultant. As a consultant, I don’t want that responsibility either.
This is definitely something I hadn’t thought of as I combine orders with friends and they just etransfer me. But someone who is trying to grow their business will definitely not want to do this
Right! Me either, I don't want that responsibility. That's why I don't get why some consultants are successful with the pre-order forms. I would never just give my cc info up to a consultant unless I knew them personally. And people are afraid of cash apps, so what's the consultant left with to get money to enter these orders for customers who want the free bar.

I agree that there is a lot of “toxic positivity” on FB and sometimes I even feel like gaslighting that goes on in FB groups and from uplines. I was disappointed to see these changes. I feel like moving the B5G1 bundle to the workstation only is confusing and very inconvenient for customers and consultants alike. It doesn’t really seem in line with the “simplicity” value that Scentsy advertises. I’m also a little suspicious of them changing “half price rewards” to “host deals” because I feel like it sets them up to take away the full half price rewards somewhere down the line. Thank you for watching! I agree toxic positivity and gaslighting are all present in some of those groups. I am grateful for the groups on FB that offer the opportunity to express concerns in a healthy and judge free environment. The B5G1 bar bundle is the most confusing, as they pushed so hard to prompt customers online to upsell their own orders with the prompts. Now the prompts will remain but just have 10% broadcasted. Which 10% off is not that much of a savings.
Those consultants complaining and shutting down the negative comments on Facebook are going to be the ones crying when and if scentsy removes the mlm model. They won't be collecring money from their down lines. U are right everyone has the right to be upset about these changes and vent if they feel they need too. I always order off my consultants website. I guess now I will have to pester her for every order because I want the bundle and save. Scentsy is ridiculous
Right, I feel bad for the consultants who are going to have to navigate collecting these orders and entering them for the customers who want the free bar. If they are not local and not a family friend, acquaintance, co-worker, then how are you going to get the money from that customer to place the order? Who is just going to hand over credit card information? Like those pre-order forms that some consultants do...Umm no thank you. I do not want that responsibility. And some people are afraid of cash apps because of scammers. So it's going to be tough for us all for sure.
Cancelled my website and cancelling club soon. I’m done with all this bs. Plus, the wax has been spiraling downwards, it doesn’t perform like it used to. Going back to vendor wax and candles melting under warmer.
It is so disappointing to hear that the wax isn't the same quality as it used to be. I have noticed the majority (not all) new fragrances just dont carry the same level of quality as older fragrances. I was impressed with the fall catalog options and hope and pray that the spring/summer catalog has some excitement for us.
Thanks for keeping us up to date. Scentsy is greedy. I haven’t had a website for quite a while now. This makes me just want to spend more $$ on vendor wax.
There were several reasons to do with Scentsy (was the only wax I bought) , why I started getting into vendor wax, and these new changes are just adding more to the list of reasons of why I'm thinking of cancelling my club, and purchasing way less from them :(
I appreciate you explaining this and sharing your thoughts. I've been a consultant with Scentsy since 2015 and I've seen the good and bad changes. I'm not happy about all the changes at once. I wish they would soften the blow with a new perk for consultants. Perhaps free shipping for consultants. We don't earn commission on that. That would be a great perk! Whatever their thinking is, I think they need to go back to the basics and add bricks and limit the LTO's.
Me too steph and this is ridiculous. Scentsy is becoming a pyramid scam . I can sell $5,000 and someone else $500 but the one with $500 gets free trips etc cause they brought on 3 new consultants . Makes zero sense . Scentsy needs a real awakening . Instead of giving us more especially those that hustle but instead we get less . I always tell my customers $500 is the magical # for parties
MLMs are crumbling. You hit the nail on the head. Scentsy is chipping away at consultant benefits to lessen the blow of fully terminating the consultant model. Within the year they will restructure and I can only hope that means the retail price will go down.

Aimee I have another point I would like to add. Before I was part of Scentsy, I had a consultant who was a really great sales person. She had the gift to sell and I was probably her number one customer, but she had many. Somehow Scentsy found out she owned another business. It was not a competing product - had nothing to do with wax or cleaning products. Scentsy basically fired her because its against the rules to have two businesses. That isn't the only time I have heard of that happening to consultants either. If things are so tough with Scentsy why on earth would they get rid of consultants that were making great sales every month. I could totally understand it if she was selling wax from a competing company, but it wasn't anything like that. I am so ticked off right now.
Appreciate how you laid this out for us! I am primarily my own best customer and get most of my wax through Club or my workstation. Really will be debating on cancelling my PWS as the $180 a year I spend on that now just may not be worth it. I'll be tuning into Dan's Zoom tomorrow to hear what he has to say but overall not very happy about it all.
Like you (and most), I'm my own best customer. When the price of the PWS went up to $15 a month, I dropped it. For some Flash Sales, I reactivated it, but got burned by several dud sales, that now I don't care (don't reactivate for anything). With these changes...we need to take a close look at everything. I'm most disappointed with the 5% deduction for certified consultants on non-active month orders.
Don’t forget 3/1 go to workstation and you have to sign or acknowledge the new agreement. I don’t drink the koolaid . Fb has been wild today . People are pissed
I considered signing up with Scentsy but I don't think I will. I agree I'd be less likely to order if I had to go through my consultant. And she's great but it's way easier to go on the website and order. I think customers want convenience.
Non-consultant here….so instead of getting $6 off (free bar) it’s $3.60 off…. Same as club…. I’ll just be ordering through club instead for anything. At least I’ll get points for that...for $ off later. I’ve also noticed that with launch of F/W catalog even if you put 6 bars in the cart and one happens to be a SOTM it doesn’t count it as 1 of the 6…. That’s stupid….
Also non-consultant here. I'll do the same just keep a monthly club in addition to my quarterly to get points. I have to drive to my consultant's home to pick up my order anyway, she never delivers it to my house.
@@michelleh8387at least with club you get 10% off even if you buy just 1 bar… with the new policy you have to buy in quantity of 6. So if I get 8 bars I’ll get 10% off all 8 with club and not have to pay full price for those extra 2 bars. I still think this change is stupid….
Just tuning in. I read about these changes on my workstation last night and I must admit, my jaw dropped a bit. Like, wow, okay Scentsy. And the 10% bundle savings is a joke.
I must say I'm thankful that they didn't make changes to Scentsy Club. The 10% is a gut punch. I know my customers don't increase their buying during the 10% transition months. It's not a big enough incentive to purchase more.

I feel ya. I am not giving up my title because same (my club and my moms club will keep me active) but I am debating the cost of the PWS versus just ordering through club or workstation.

Great review of the changes. I’m my own customer so keeping my website isn’t worth it. I’m really contemplating canceling my club and just sticking with vendor wax. I also agree about this making customers less likely to order with these new changes.
I’ve been with Scentsy since 2017, this stings. Mostly disappointed over the bundle and save bars, and the drop to 20% commission when that was previously promised 😢 Like you said, I’ll get over it just very bummed over all of this. I’ll meet the new requirements.
I just canceled my website. This is a bunch of BS. I’ve been a customer since 2006 and a consultant since 2023, primarily for the discount. This whole situation makes me want to walk away from Scentsy altogether.
The party reward and bundle and save changes need to happen at a catalogue change over because it needs to be printed in the new catalogue so this has been in the plans since they ordered the printing. Both of those happening at once will definitely affect people’s shopping habits, imo. The changes in commissions….I do not doubt that is a hard one for consultants trying to make a little business. I simply order for myself and do not maintain a pws so that part will not really affect me. I could be wrong, but I too sense that this is more of an Orville led change. One cannot help but wonder if these changes are related to getting rid of Lacey…. I relish your honesty!!!!
Ok, yes that makes sense with the printing. Yes, I feel it is more Orville/Heidi driven with the whole MLM thing but I really really miss Lacey. I mean she was deep in the koolaid but at least she listened to us!

I haven’t had a PWS for a while. To me it was a waste of money. I enter orders for my friends and myself in the workstation. I think Scentsy will lose business by changing the Bundle and Save. A lot of people just want to go order online without having to bother someone else. It seems like greed and trying to squeeze every last penny. But maybe that’s what they need to do to stay afloat. I can stomach many of these changes but taking away the 25% lifetime pay rate for Certified Consultants and not grandfathering existing consultants in is complete BS for a company that touts INTEGRITY and GENEROSITY as a core value. Question though... can we have a Scentsy Club if we cancel our website?

Very disappointing to see these changes that will definitely affect customers as well as consultants. Personally, I gave up the personal website quite some time ago because I am mostly doing local orders and it didn’t financially make sense to be paying monthly for a website. It sucks when it comes to flash sales, but like you said, they have not been great as of lately. Very disappointing that they are changing the commission, we worked hard to get to that 25% commission and just because you have a month with lower sales you shouldn’t be penalized for it. I swear to God if they screw around with our clubs, I’m not going to be happy
They better not %%$% around with club, but I wonder if they are making some of these changes because they are losing money. I mean since I and others on YT exposed the club hacks, how many people are really letting their clubs process as they should? I haven't had a club in a year and its not even set to process until may (if I let it)
could you explain how you mangage your club without having a PWS? Can you just go to the main scentsy website and do all of your club editing there? Also, do you still get to keep the commisison from your club without a pws? Thanks 🥰
@@AprilLeeWaxQueen Yes, you can edit your Club through the main Scentsy website. It should show you, your name as Consultant, for Club orders only. Make sure the login info is linked to your Workstation (it should be already). Without a PWS we cannot order from ourselves through the public website for anything other than the Club(s). Of course, if we want something outside the Club, we can still order from the Workstation, and still create parties (we just can't publish them).

Thank you for not only the rant but the thoughtful explanations you gave for all the things. I’ve been thinking of cancelling my website for a while now and this is my sign to move ahead with that. Not cancelling my role as a consultant, just skipping the extra and generally unnecessary (for me) cost of the website. I think the biggest things that bug me are the decrease in commission, the bundle and save going away, the Scentsy Systems going away and the party value going down by raising the dollar amount. And I agree, doing it all at once like this makes it feel much more meaningful than if spaced apart. Not sure it was the best idea on their part because of the optics, but I guess they decided it best to just make all the changes at once and get it over with.

I wouldn't pay for a web site just for the odd flash sale. I would just order from another consultant for the odd time you may buy from a flash sale. The savings from not paying for a site is more than the small amount of commission you would get back from your purchase from a sale. Consultants are definately going to lose customers that aren't local. People will definitely look for a local consultant if they can save money. So no more half price items for a party either correct? That sucks as well.
That’s exactly why I’ve been thinking of cancelling my website. I overall spend more to have it than I save or earn in a party when there’s a flash sale. This seals the deal for me on the website aspect.
@ yes if a flash sale item is highly reduced you don't get that much back on it anyway and now it won't even be 25% if you aren't active during time of flash sale. I have a feeling they are going to lose money from consultants canceling their personal sites. Not worth it.
They are hurting the people who made them grow. It’s like they want to get out of the consultant MLM model because they are making it not worth it to be one.
I've been saying the same thing. I think they want to do away with consultants. I thought this when Disney added Scentsy to their Brick and Mortar last year.

I know Scentsy wax is better than say Walmart but frankly- Walmart doesn’t make me jump through hoops nor does it cost double the price so I can double up on Walmart wax and not jump through hoops. I’m sure Scentsy has a plan but it’s obviously not considering the consultants. They basically said “work more work harder and BTW we are increasing quotas and taking away commissions.” Someone in a real job would find something else 😂
I'm disgusted with Scentsy on so much of this. The buy 5 get 1 free to not be on our website is stupid. I had been thinking of working on growing my Scentsy business, but with all the changes, I will stay with it mostly being for me.
I don't understand the removal of the bundle and saves from the website; especially when they worked on building the prompts for customers to recevie the discounted bundle price when placing their orders...seems ass backwards to me
I agree Aimee, this is the one that I have the hardest time getting my head around. Maybe they think we consultants will get more active by offering these “specials” and in turn will create more sales??
This all just gives me the ick. I'll be canceling my website. And probably will no longer be a consultant. I love scentsy products, but I do not like the business model.

After reading about the changes, I contemplated why bother with a website. I haven't had one customer order from me since becoming a consultant. Just ME. Which is fine, of course. The problem is that we can't order from flash sales, and I think that is pretty rotten honestly. Why can't we just order from another consultant's website for flash sales?
@@terrys_smell_goods we can order from other consultants website for flash sales but for a consultant to get commission off her own flash sale order, having her own personal website is the only way to get commission for yourself cause flash sale can’t be ordered through workstation….

We pay $180/year for our website. That means we must spend more than $720-900/year on flash sale items (depending on new commission tier) just to break even and make the website worth it.
@ Yes, I get that, but that's not the only reason I have it. But I may decide differently after this news and how the past year has gone for me personally.

Funny tho I was just last night calculating cost difference between 30 club bars+$8ship (with bonus of 1/2 off item) versus placing a 30bar order bundling 6/$30 bar sets +$10ship. Pros/cons to each side of the equation.

@@happilyscentedlife Calculations I looked at.... For apples to apples comparison... I calculated 30 wax bars only: 30 bars from club @5.40 each + .06% tax + $8 ship = $179.72. Versus... 30 bars bundled @$5 each + .06% tax + $10ship = $169. So 30 bars = $10 less as bundled, BUT BUT It really depends various factors as stated in reply to Amanda. What is the goal of the purchase besides the cost per bar savings?
@ I typed out figures in reply to Amy above. I do realize it's a base line, bc it really depends on various factors. I was strictly looking at it as a customer simple purchase for bars, what is the cost difference on just bars in multiples of 6 and How Big of a price gap is there at say, 30 bars currently available BBMB+a few more. Factors to consider: Is bundled bars purchase going towards a party to build up party rewards? Or in a 1 & done club to get 1/2 off item and bc club can't attached to a party and earn rewards. What's the budget limit of the purchase? If really only interested in wax right now, which factors above matter more to you with your purchase? my mind spirals as you can see. lol.
Finally finished the video. I agree with everything! A question I had was if I currently have a party going and it gets to $500, if I wait to close in March I won't be getting those same benefits? Aka the $75 and up like now.
Right. So if you have a party link now that reaches $500 USD, if you close it out by Feb 28th, you will be able to get 3 half off and $75 USD in free credit AND still be able to choose the CURRENT bundle and saves as your host reward options. If you wait until March 1st, to close the party, you would only be at the 2nd party tier, as the $500 party tier (level 3) is increasing to $600, so you would get less credit less half-off rewards and the few bundling choices that they will have left to choose from.
I'm just trying to stay positive. I like having my website because I'm 2 years as a consultant and I like shopping for myself from clearance. Once in a while I get a order from somebody else so yeah. The $250 is doable for me if I have a club process. One month I only did $6 in commission. But also I have done $500+ on my own with no team. I said I would try it and I'm an addict. 👍🙏

I know this is complete speculation and me talking outta my booty lol but IMO I think Orville is the one pushing a lot of these changes. All of these profit changes seemed to have come the minute they got back from mission. Just learning more about him when he returned, and his business style, that’s what I think. 🤷🏻♀️
Yep agree Lisa. I’ve noticed things since they’ve been back too. Also, they’re closing the Coppell, TX location so that may be another way to cut costs. Something must be up with the profit margin..?
I think it stared with international sales. IMO- I just don’t see how Scentsy can be making money with the international sales if they have to make the product in the US - ship it AND pay commission to the consultants. Plus I am sure there are tax and other fees that go in to international sales. However, now that the product is known internationally and people like it- if people skipped the consultant and just ordered online and was in charge of the shipping cost like non MLM companies do - Scentsy would make more money with their international sales.
@@suzsuzM excellent point. Running a company international has to be very costly. And remember Orville pushed for that huge warmer warehouse to be built in Asia if I believe so? Scentsy may have just expanded too quickly.
Any chance the “Pick 6, get 10% off” would extend to more than 6 bars? Like could I get 10% off of 8 or 10 bars? That would be a benefit I guess. But the article is definitely unclear… It is so odd to me that we are in the online era (like 200% in! I buy medication, toilet paper and dog food online) and Scentsy wants to keep people from buying on a website paid for by its sales people. Good 2025 business decisions? Not so much.
That would be great! If it would include a higher amount of bars. Sadly, I don't see that in the article or it even being in fruition. I am flabbergasted by the straight retailation to online customers. "Oh sorry you want to order online, you only get 10% off your 6 bars. You wont additional savings work directly with your consultant" What if your consultant isn't doing Scentsy for a "business" so they are paying attention to customer orders or building a team? They want to fizzle out the hobby consultants and have the deep koolaid drinkers offer the better deals
I am a newer consultant and just hit $1000 and was so happy that I would now be receiving 25% commission. This month would be my first month receiving it. I am my only customer so it’s so disappointing to know that I’m pretty much going to stay at the 20%. And even though I am my only customer, I love using the PWS to place orders. Not a fan of the workstation and I’m sure most people place wax orders, so it puts so much work on the consultants. I’m not sure, except for the reasons other people have stated, the reason for needing to keep a PWS.
Welcome to the consultant game! Congrats on hitting $1000!!! We won't see these changes until March 1st so it wont affect your sales in January and February. Understand your thoughts, definitely take the time to evaluate. We are all here for the same love of wax

Walmart wax is where it's at! Strong scents, last forever, free returns if you don't like it. Plus, Walmart has dropped their prices, and you can get a value pack 5 oz of wax for $3.48.
I’ve been expecting them to make changes to Scentsy club. It must be a logistical nightmare with pushing out of clubs and they probably aren’t happy with ´lost’ sales.
Appreciate your video.. changes are always scary, no one likes them. I am not a consultant, I just love the product. I’m sure they’re just trying to keep the MLM in place.. so many people are attacking that culture, and some companies abused it. Scentsy has been a good company, I love the product.. it won’t change anything for me.
I love the product too. I won't give up my consultant title but I will definitely have to rethink how to purchase things to maximize savings for myself and the few customers I have.

I'm certainly not hustling more. We are not in 2009 when people were still new to the internet and Facebook just started so everyone was doing home parties. We are living in a digital world, full of the need of instant gratification, and no one wants to be around people. I rather shop online, do Walmart pick ups orders than deal with people some days...haha
@@happilyscentedlife Are we related? 🤣To be perfectly honest, what that has annoyed me more than the changes is being told that I should be happy about them. Like someone else said, it’s got a gaslighting feel to it. Which is not new, but the older I get the more I don’t have patience for BS. If the company is losing money and needs to make these changes to stay afloat, fine. Then say that. As Judge Judy once said, don’t pee on my leg and tell me it’s raining.
Change can in most cases be challenging. As someone who pivots between this a a personal hobby and sometimes as something more of a Buisness I can kind of see both sides of the coin. These changes I think will affect those more who just want to this a a hobby or for personal shopping vs a consultant who actively has this as their Business and income . I’m also maybe thinking with the bundle and saves been on workstation only now maybe as a way to try and get customers to join rather than just purchase particularly if t wanting to hand over credit information. While I may think some months may be more challenging I am keeping my account for my clubs and small amount customers friends. Most of my regular customers get me to place orders for them anyhow. But I think I have watched how I met your mother too many times as when I first read the workstation all I could hear in my head was Barney saying challenge accepted 😅😅😅
Haha...challenge indeed accepted. Yes, I agree people who have a considerable customer base and downline probably won't feel the affects of these changes as deeply for the one-off consultants who do this for their own discounts and only have a few customers. I am eagerly awaiting the zoom later today to see how Scentsy clarified things and explains the changes.
Does this mean that a Certified consultant will now only receive their 25% commission on the months they sell $250 and the commission is dropped to 20% commission for any month with sales below $250?
I don’t know enough people who are willing to buy these days in order for me to have a party lol and I imagine several others are in the same position. I guess I’ll eventually move fully over to vendor waxes if this keeps going.
Same, I have a few friends that order from me (local and out of state) most have clubs now and my only lucrative month that I have parties is the catalog change over months lol
I agree with you. The changes will affect the hobby consultants the most and they will fizzle out leaving the koolaid drinkers to cash in all the benefits.
Oh, also, the cost for PWS is tax deductible, so it’s not a total loss to have a website. Right? It’s not like just lost expense. Do people understand that MANY expenses towards their own business are tax deductible?? I agree these March changes are sh*t with capital S and seem corp greed based. Consultants should not be paying the price for excessive corp spending. But, helps to know PWS cost is somewhat recouped in lowering your own taxable income. It has more purpose than just accessing flash sales for yourself, is how I see it.
For the $180/year in website fees, you save $54 in taxes through deductions. A net loss of $126, unless it serves other purposes. Edit: Plus it costs $250/year to do a Schedule C, just to be a consultant.
I don't know the tax side of things. I just claim Scentsy as hobby income so I don't enter any deductions or any of that. But yes, if you can claim things like website fees, postage receipts (if you mail things to customers) inventory like early access kits as deductions, I dont know all the ins and outs but that would be a great topic to share thoughts on.
I am a customer, and my sis is my consultant. She has a full time job and lives in a different state. I am sad to say this means I will only be ordering through scentsy clubs. This means she loses and it costs less for me (bcz of the shipping). This makes no sense to me, now she loses out on the sale, and pays for a website. I just know she is busy and it is going to be hard for her to take my order (we do not have the same schedule).
I was hoping and waiting for your opinion on this! Tbh it kind of has just left a sour taste in my mouth, especially the commission bit. Most of my customers come directly to me to order but I do have a few that order on their own and the $2.40 extra for the bars is just a money grab for Scentsy. Right, $2.40 doesn't seem like much to some of these MLM huns but it is! Especially when you are targeting certain customers by offering a less than appealing savings versus customers who are not ordering online. HAHA I knew someone would figure out what group I was talking about. I would just leave, but she takes AH-MAZING pictures of products that I use lol
I'm sorry the Bundle & Save change just looks sketchy, as if we are trying to get away with something. It's just a few dollars difference but totally sends a weird greedy message like " ohhh you should've ordered from me directly". Some first time buyers may also be so put off that they just say "screw it" and not purchase again. In my eyes it just complicates the whole transaction & relationship you build with customers. People don't want to hear all this crap..."buy from here and get this but buy from me to get that" ughhhh so unnecessary. Keep it simple & fair.
Exactly! It's too confusing on the customer end to figure out where and how to order to get the most savings, same with the consultant. Also, 10% off versus a free bar in the wax bundles is such a rip-off. All the new bundle formatting to offer just 10% off is just pushing people to either not party or just put things in club cause you are getting the same 10% off discount but at least you get reduced shipping and earn reward points (well if you're not a consultant)
Well I’m looking at it that you can still get the 6pk for $30 if you order through the consultant. Plus they could have went up on bar price 😜 I have noticed they already did away with most B&S things already on the websites. I do like the original B&S design but things are gonna change always unfortunately sometimes not the way we want. I myself normally use Club instead of ordering straight out anyway. 😂
This is not good. No sense having a website. I have only have a couple customers who order off my website. Family order through me so we can split shipping costs. It was the convience for these customers to be able to go on my site build their buy 5 get 1 free bundle, pay with their credit card on the site and ship to their house. The higher amounts needed for parties will definitely take me longer to close them out so less free stuff and 1/2 price items for sure. And the raising the PRV to 250 I only get 200 about 6 months of the year and will probably only get more than 250 when my quarterly club ships and usually September when the fall/winter catalog starts. So a good 8 months of the year will be 20% commission which in return means I will buy less.
Yes, i am struggling with the idea of keeping the website. I do have a few out of state customers that order from my website 1-2x a year. Most of my customers are local and understand my bulk order system and just give me their orders.
I just canceled my website will save me over $200 for the year. The only thing my customers order off my site are the bars buy 5 get 1 free. No sense having a website for over $200 if they can't get that.
No, but they do give it for over $200 i believe but the order cant be attached to a party to get the free shipping and then there is free shipping in a party order when its over $350 i believe
Right! Especially if you are trying to open and close a party in the same month. I always roll my parties but thats because I never have enough random orders to accumulate enough; and with my low buy this year, I am not buying as much Scentsy as before
@@acadiaterritory7178 They used to! When Lilo & Stitch first came out, they offered a pre-order for the Stitch warmer and the buddies You paid $10 deposit and then you would pay the rest when the collection launched. They did a similar pre-order with the Cinderella castle warmer too.
@@happilyscentedlife Not a consultant, maybe they would make more if they actually listened to their customer base and brought back the scents that everyone wants and loves rather than their many forgettable scents.
I expect that some consultants will drop off from Scentsy. The consultants that aren't actively engaged in the processes might notice customers not purchasing frequently. Not all consultants will be privy to the changes upcoming and will lose interest.
I can see that happening too. People are more aware of the value of their time and dollar and if the payout isn't there, then what's the point? I love Scentsy wax and some other their other products but I am not spending more money and time chasing down sales.
@@tammyboyd6808 you can create a party link on the workstation but customers can’t place orders themselves under the party, consultants will have to enter them in, unless you keep the website active then people can still place orders on your website and attach their orders to said party link BUT those orders lose the ability to save money through bundled pricing. So annoying for everyone involved

I agree that there is a lot of “toxic positivity” on FB and sometimes I even feel like gaslighting that goes on in FB groups and from uplines. I was disappointed to see these changes. I feel like moving the B5G1 bundle to the workstation only is confusing and very inconvenient for customers and consultants alike. It doesn’t really seem in line with the “simplicity” value that Scentsy advertises. I’m also a little suspicious of them changing “half price rewards” to “host deals” because I feel like it sets them up to take away the full half price rewards somewhere down the line. Thank you for watching! I agree toxic positivity and gaslighting are all present in some of those groups. I am grateful for the groups on FB that offer the opportunity to express concerns in a healthy and judge free environment. The B5G1 bar bundle is the most confusing, as they pushed so hard to prompt customers online to upsell their own orders with the prompts. Now the prompts will remain but just have 10% broadcasted. Which 10% off is not that much of a savings.
Those consultants complaining and shutting down the negative comments on Facebook are going to be the ones crying when and if scentsy removes the mlm model.
They won't be collecring money from their down lines.

If they are not local and not a family friend, acquaintance, co-worker, then how are you going to get the money from that customer to place the order? Cancelled my website and cancelling club soon. I’m done with all this bs. Plus, the wax has been spiraling downwards, it doesn’t perform like it used to. Going back to vendor wax and candles melting under warmer.
It is so disappointing to hear that the wax isn't the same quality as it used to be. I have noticed the majority (not all) new fragrances just dont carry the same level of quality as older fragrances. I was impressed with the fall catalog options and hope and pray that the spring/summer catalog has some excitement for us.

There were several reasons to do with Scentsy (was the only wax I bought) , why I started getting into vendor wax, and these new changes are just adding more to the list of reasons of why I'm thinking of cancelling my club, and purchasing way less from them :(

I appreciate you explaining this and sharing your thoughts. I've been a consultant with Scentsy since 2015 and I've seen the good and bad changes. I'm not happy about all the changes at once. I wish they would soften the blow with a new perk for consultants. Perhaps free shipping for consultants. We don't earn commission on that. That would be a great perk! Whatever their thinking is, I think they need to go back to the basics and add bricks and limit the LTO's.

MLMs are crumbling. You hit the nail on the head. Scentsy is chipping away at consultant benefits to lessen the blow of fully terminating the consultant model. Within the year they will restructure and I can only hope that means the retail price will go down.

Aimee I have another point I would like to add. Before I was part of Scentsy, I had a consultant who was a really great sales person. She had the gift to sell and I was probably her number one customer, but she had many. Somehow Scentsy found out she owned another business. It was not a competing product - had nothing to do with wax or cleaning products. Scentsy basically fired her because its against the rules to have two businesses. That isn't the only time I have heard of that happening to consultants either. If things are so tough with Scentsy why on earth would they get rid of consultants that were making great sales every month. I could totally understand it if she was selling wax from a competing company, but it wasn't anything like that. I am so ticked off right now.

Appreciate how you laid this out for us! I am primarily my own best customer and get most of my wax through Club or my workstation. Really will be debating on cancelling my PWS as the $180 a year I spend on that now just may not be worth it. I'll be tuning into Dan's Zoom tomorrow to hear what he has to say but overall not very happy about it all.

Like you (and most), I'm my own best customer. When the price of the PWS went up to $15 a month, I dropped it. For some Flash Sales, I reactivated it, but got burned by several dud sales, that now I don't care (don't reactivate for anything). With these changes...we need to take a close look at everything. I'm most disappointed with the 5% deduction for certified consultants on non-active month orders.

Non-consultant here….so instead of getting $6 off (free bar) it’s $3.60 off…. Same as club…. I’ll just be ordering through club instead for anything. At least I’ll get points for that...for $ off later. I’ve also noticed that with launch of F/W catalog even if you put 6 bars in the cart and one happens to be a SOTM it doesn’t count it as 1 of the 6…. That’s stupid….

Also non-consultant here. I'll do the same just keep a monthly club in addition to my quarterly to get points. I have to drive to my consultant's home to pick up my order anyway, she never delivers it to my house.

I just canceled my website. This is a bunch of BS. I’ve been a customer since 2006 and a consultant since 2023, primarily for the discount. This whole situation makes me want to walk away from Scentsy altogether.
Same, customer since 2008, joined in 2012, left in 2013, and then rejoined in 2022.
The party reward and bundle and save changes need to happen at a catalogue change over because it needs to be printed in the new catalogue so this has been in the plans since they ordered the printing. Both of those happening at once will definitely affect people’s shopping habits, imo. The changes in commissions….I do not doubt that is a hard one for consultants trying to make a little business. I simply order for myself and do not maintain a pws so that part will not really affect me. I could be wrong, but I too sense that this is more of an Orville led change. One cannot help but wonder if these changes are related to getting rid of Lacey…. I relish your honesty!!!!

I haven’t had a PWS for a while. To me it was a waste of money. I enter orders for my friends and myself in the workstation.
I think Scentsy will lose business by changing the Bundle and Save. A lot of people just want to go order online without having to bother someone else.
It seems like greed and trying to squeeze every last penny. But maybe that’s what they need to do to stay afloat. We will see.

I can stomach many of these changes but taking away the 25% lifetime pay rate for Certified Consultants and not grandfathering existing consultants in is complete BS for a company that touts INTEGRITY and GENEROSITY as a core value. Yes, you can. You can just go to scentsy.com and log in through that website to access your club.

Very disappointing to see these changes that will definitely affect customers as well as consultants. Personally, I gave up the personal website quite some time ago because I am mostly doing local orders and it didn’t financially make sense to be paying monthly for a website. It sucks when it comes to flash sales, but like you said, they have not been great as of lately. Very disappointing that they are changing the commission, we worked hard to get to that 25% commission and just because you have a month with lower sales you shouldn’t be penalized for it. I swear to God if they screw around with our clubs, I’m not going to be happy
They better not %%$% around with club, but I wonder if they are making some of these changes because they are losing money. I mean since I and others on YT exposed the club hacks, how many people are really letting their clubs process as they should? I haven't had a club in a year and its not even set to process until may (if I let it)

could you explain how you mangage your club without having a PWS? Can you just go to the main scentsy website and do all of your club editing there? Also, do you still get to keep the commisison from your club without a pws? Thanks 🥰
@@AprilLeeWaxQueen Yes, you can edit your Club through the main Scentsy website. It should show you, your name as Consultant, for Club orders only. Make sure the login info is linked to your Workstation (it should be already). Without a PWS we cannot order from ourselves through the public website for anything other than the Club(s). Of course, if we want something outside the Club, we can still order from the Workstation, and still create parties (we just can't publish them).

Thank you for not only the rant but the thoughtful explanations you gave for all the things. I’ve been thinking of cancelling my website for a while now and this is my sign to move ahead with that. Not cancelling my role as a consultant, just skipping the extra and generally unnecessary (for me) cost of the website. I think the biggest things that bug me are the decrease in commission, the bundle and save going away, the Scentsy Systems going away and the party value going down by raising the dollar amount. And I agree, doing it all at once like this makes it feel much more meaningful than if spaced apart. Not sure it was the best idea on their part because of the optics, but I guess they decided it best to just make all the changes at once and get it over with.

I wouldn't pay for a web site just for the odd flash sale. I would just order from another consultant for the odd time you may buy from a flash sale. The savings from not paying for a site is more than the small amount of commission you would get back from your purchase from a sale. Consultants are definately going to lose customers that aren't local. People will definitely look for a local consultant if they can save money. So no more half price items for a party either correct? That sucks as well.

That’s exactly why I’ve been thinking of cancelling my website. I overall spend more to have it than I save or earn in a party when there’s a flash sale. This seals the deal for me on the website aspect.

I’m sure Scentsy has a plan but it’s obviously not considering the consultants. They basically said “work more work harder and BTW we are increasing quotas and taking away commissions.” Someone in a real job would find something else 😂

After reading about the changes, I contemplated why bother with a website. I haven't had one customer order from me since becoming a consultant. Just ME. Which is fine, of course. The problem is that we can't order from flash sales, and I think that is pretty rotten honestly. Why can't we just order from another consultant's website for flash sales?

We pay $180/year for our website. That means we must spend more than $720-900/year on flash sale items (depending on new commission tier) just to break even and make the website worth it.

Funny tho I was just last night calculating cost difference between 30 club bars+$8ship (with bonus of 1/2 off item) versus placing a 30bar order bundling 6/$30 bar sets +$10ship. Pros/cons to each side of the equation.
What did you find out? Which option was better?

For apples to apples comparison... I calculated 30 wax bars only:
30 bars from club @5.40 each + .06% tax + $8 ship = $179.72.
Versus...
30 bars bundled @$5 each + .06% tax + $10ship = $169.
So 30 bars = $10 less as bundled,
BUT BUT It really depends various factors as stated in reply to Amanda. What is the goal of the purchase besides the cost per bar savings?
@ I typed out figures in reply to Amy above. I do realize it's a base line, bc it really depends on various factors. I was strictly looking at it as a customer simple purchase for bars, what is the cost difference on just bars in multiples of 6 and How Big of a price gap is there at say, 30 bars currently available BBMB+a few more.
Factors to consider:
Is bundled bars purchase going towards a party to build up party rewards?
Or in a 1 & done club to get 1/2 off item and bc club can't attached to a party and earn rewards.
What's the budget limit of the purchase?
If really only interested in wax right now, which factors above matter more to you with your purchase? my mind spirals as you can see. lol.
Finally finished the video. I agree with everything! A question I had was if I currently have a party going and it gets to $500, if I wait to close in March I won't be getting those same benefits? Aka the $75 and up like now.
Right. So if you have a party link now that reaches $500 USD, if you close it out by Feb 28th, you will be able to get 3 half off and $75 USD in free credit AND still be able to choose the CURRENT bundle and saves as your host reward options. If you wait until March 1st, to close the party, you would only be at the 2nd party tier, as the $500 party tier (level 3) is increasing to $600, so you would get less credit less half-off rewards and the few bundling choices that they will have left to choose from.

I'm just trying to stay positive. I like having my website because I'm 2 years as a consultant and I like shopping for myself from clearance. Once in a while I get a order from somebody else so yeah. The $250 is doable for me if I have a club process. One month I only did $6 in commission. But also I have done $500+ on my own with no team. I said I would try it and I'm an addict. 👍🙏

I know this is complete speculation and me talking outta my booty lol but IMO I think Orville is the one pushing a lot of these changes. All of these profit changes seemed to have come the minute they got back from mission. Just learning more about him when he returned, and his business style, that’s what I think. 🤷🏻♀️

I think it stared with international sales. IMO- I just don’t see how Scentsy can be making money with the international sales if they have to make the product in the US - ship it AND pay commission to the consultants. Plus I am sure there are tax and other fees that go in to international sales. However, now that the product is known internationally and people like it- if people skipped the consultant and just ordered online and was in charge of the shipping cost like non MLM companies do - Scentsy would make more money with their international sales.

@@suzsuzM excellent point. Running a company international has to be very costly. And remember Orville pushed for that huge warmer warehouse to be built in Asia if I believe so? Scentsy may have just expanded too quickly.
Kinda bummed about the TX location closing. My order would ship and I would get it the next day from there so that was nice.
Any chance the “Pick 6, get 10% off” would extend to more than 6 bars? Like could I get 10% off of 8 or 10 bars? That would be a benefit I guess. But the article is definitely unclear… It is so odd to me that we are in the online era (like 200% in! I buy medication, toilet paper and dog food online) and Scentsy wants to keep people from buying on a website paid for by its sales people. Good 2025 business decisions? Not so much.
That would be great! If it would include a higher amount of bars. Sadly, I don't see that in the article or it even being in fruition. I am flabbergasted by the straight retailation to online customers. "Oh sorry you want to order online, you only get 10% off your 6 bars. You wont additional savings work directly with your consultant" What if your consultant isn't doing Scentsy for a "business" so they are paying attention to customer orders or building a team? They want to fizzle out the hobby consultants and have the deep koolaid drinkers offer the better deals

I am a newer consultant and just hit $1000 and was so happy that I would now be receiving 25% commission. This month would be my first month receiving it.
I am my only customer so it’s so disappointing to know that I’m pretty much going to stay at the 20%.
And even though I am my only customer, I love using the PWS to place orders. Not a fan of the workstation and I’m sure most people place wax orders, so it puts so much work on the consultants. I’m not sure, except for the reasons other people have stated, the reason for needing to keep a PWS.
Welcome to the consultant game! Congrats on hitting $1000!!! We won't see these changes until March 1st so it wont affect your sales in January and February. Understand your thoughts, definitely take the time to evaluate. We are all here for the same love of wax
I order everything in club.. not much change for me. But it does sound odd.
It's expected with a company their size, but at least lessen the blow by giving us something we will like, like more perks or incentives. they seem to take and take but never give

Walmart wax is where it's at! Strong scents, last forever, free returns if you don't like it. Plus, Walmart has dropped their prices, and you can get a value pack 5 oz of wax for $3.48.

I’ve been expecting them to make changes to Scentsy club. It must be a logistical nightmare with pushing out of clubs and they probably aren’t happy with ´lost’ sales.
I keep seeing that "FEE" line in my club when I hit the "estimate tax" button but it still says 0

Appreciate your video.. changes are always scary, no one likes them. I am not a consultant, I just love the product. I’m sure they’re just trying to keep the MLM in place.. so many people are attacking that culture, and some companies abused it. Scentsy has been a good company, I love the product.. it won’t change anything for me.
I love the product too. I won't give up my consultant title but I will definitely have to rethink how to purchase things to maximize savings for myself and the few customers I have.

I'm certainly not hustling more. We are not in 2009 when people were still new to the internet and Facebook just started so everyone was doing home parties. We are living in a digital world, full of the need of instant gratification, and no one wants to be around people. I rather shop online, do Walmart pick ups orders than deal with people some days...haha

Like someone else said, it’s got a gaslighting feel to it. Which is not new, but the older I get the more I don’t have patience for BS. Change can in most cases be challenging. As someone who pivots between this a a personal hobby and sometimes as something more of a Buisness I can kind of see both sides of the coin. These changes I think will affect those more who just want to this a a hobby or for personal shopping vs a consultant who actively has this as their Business and income . I’m also maybe thinking with the bundle and saves been on workstation only now maybe as a way to try and get customers to join rather than just purchase particularly if t wanting to hand over credit information. While I may think some months may be more challenging I am keeping my account for my clubs and small amount customers friends. Most of my regular customers get me to place orders for them anyhow. But I think I have watched how I met your mother too many times as when I first read the workstation all I could hear in my head was Barney saying challenge accepted 😅😅😅
Haha...challenge indeed accepted. Yes, I agree people who have a considerable customer base and downline probably won't feel the affects of these changes as deeply for the one-off consultants who do this for their own discounts and only have a few customers. I am eagerly awaiting the zoom later today to see how Scentsy clarified things and explains the changes.
Does this mean that a Certified consultant will now only receive their 25% commission on the months they sell $250 and the commission is dropped to 20% commission for any month with sales below $250?

I don’t know enough people who are willing to buy these days in order for me to have a party lol and I imagine several others are in the same position. I guess I’ll eventually move fully over to vendor waxes if this keeps going.
Same, I have a few friends that order from me (local and out of state) most have clubs now and my only lucrative month that I have parties is the catalog change over months lol

Oh, also, the cost for PWS is tax deductible, so it’s not a total loss to have a website. Right? It’s not like just lost expense. Do people understand that MANY expenses towards their own business are tax deductible?? I agree these March changes are sh*t with capital S and seem corp greed based. Consultants should not be paying the price for excessive corp spending. But, helps to know PWS cost is somewhat recouped in lowering your own taxable income. It has more purpose than just accessing flash sales for yourself, is how I see it.
For the $180/year in website fees, you save $54 in taxes through deductions. A net loss of $126, unless it serves other purposes.
Edit: Plus it costs $250/year to do a Schedule C, just to be a consultant.
I don't know the tax side of things. I just claim Scentsy as hobby income so I don't enter any deductions or any of that. But yes, if you can claim things like website fees, postage receipts (if you mail things to customers) inventory like early access kits as deductions, I dont know all the ins and outs but that would be a great topic to share thoughts on.

I am a customer, and my sis is my consultant. She has a full time job and lives in a different state. I am sad to say this means I will only be ordering through scentsy clubs. This means she loses and it costs less for me (bcz of the shipping). This makes no sense to me, now she loses out on the sale, and pays for a website. I just know she is busy and it is going to be hard for her to take my order (we do not have the same schedule).

Especially when you are targeting certain customers by offering a less than appealing savings versus customers who are not ordering online. I'm sorry the Bundle & Save change just looks sketchy, as if we are trying to get away with something. It's just a few dollars difference but totally sends a weird greedy message like " ohhh you should've ordered from me directly".
Some first time buyers may also be so put off that they just say "screw it" and not purchase again.
In my eyes it just complicates the whole transaction & relationship you build with customers. People don't want to hear all this crap..."buy from here and get this but buy from me to get that" ughhhh so unnecessary. Keep it simple & fair.
Exactly! It's too confusing on the customer end to figure out where and how to order to get the most savings, same with the consultant. Also, 10% off versus a free bar in the wax bundles is such a rip-off. All the new bundle formatting to offer just 10% off is just pushing people to either not party or just put things in club cause you are getting the same 10% off discount but at least you get reduced shipping and earn reward points (well if you're not a consultant)
Well I’m looking at it that you can still get the 6pk for $30 if you order through the consultant. Plus they could have went up on bar price 😜 I have noticed they already did away with most B&S things already on the websites. I do like the original B&S design but things are gonna change always unfortunately sometimes not the way we want. I myself normally use Club instead of ordering straight out anyway. 😂

This is not good. No sense having a website. I have only have a couple customers who order off my website. Family order through me so we can split shipping costs. It was the convience for these customers to be able to go on my site build their buy 5 get 1 free bundle, pay with their credit card on the site and ship to their house.
The higher amounts needed for parties will definitely take me longer to close them out so less free stuff and 1/2 price items for sure.
And the raising the PRV to 250 I only get 200 about 6 months of the year and will probably only get more than 250 when my quarterly club ships and usually September when the fall/winter catalog starts. So a good 8 months of the year will be 20% commission which in return means I will buy less.
Yes, i am struggling with the idea of keeping the website. I do have a few out of state customers that order from my website 1-2x a year. Most of my customers are local and understand my bulk order system and just give me their orders.
I just canceled my website will save me over $200 for the year. The only thing my customers order off my site are the bars buy 5 get 1 free. No sense having a website for over $200 if they can't get that.

No, but they do give it for over $200 i believe but the order cant be attached to a party to get the free shipping and then there is free shipping in a party order when its over $350 i believe

I expect that some consultants will drop off from Scentsy. The consultants that aren't actively engaged in the processes might notice customers not purchasing frequently. Not all consultants will be privy to the changes upcoming and will lose interest.
I can see that happening too. People are more aware of the value of their time and dollar and if the payout isn't there, then what's the point? I love Scentsy wax and some other their other products but I am not spending more money and time chasing down sales.
You can’t even have a workstation party order without a website
@@tammyboyd6808 you can create a party link on the workstation but customers can’t place orders themselves under the party, consultants will have to enter them in, unless you keep the website active then people can still place orders on your website and attach their orders to said party link BUT those orders lose the ability to save money through bundled pricing. So annoying for everyone involved

I feel like they might be having issues....thinking back over the last year and now all this plus they closed one warehouse too? what next....I'm surprised they haven't cancelled the free shipping over $350 - suppose that will be next.
