Just picked up a 2017 Acadia Denali, what an awesome vehicle. Perfect size and plenty of power. On my first tank of gas and a long drive I managed over 25 MPG and it has less than 300 miles on it. I suspect that will get better. Perfect vehicle for my family. I didn't want or need a full size SUV. USAF Retired
is it just me or does that car look fuckin good. the front grille and headlight led accents look well proportioned and the side profile is so clean. the denali version looks nice too. I've never seen a gmc I'm not American but it does look nice
Good spot on the headlamps. I'm seriously annoyed brand new cars have dim, even dangerously dim, headlights. I hope auto companies stop being cheap on a critical nighttime safety feature.
idk if you have ever driven in front of those but they are dangerous to anyone in a car because their light are so bright when they become equipped with led or hid lights
It's actually not the auto companies faults, the USDOT just has very strict rules on headlights. They have to be shitty to pass. That's why we can't have the cool tail lights on the Euro Mercedes and Audis, they're just too well designed.
Great review. GM need to step up their interior design. And why did they make it smaller? i would prefer they kept the old proportions and give it more power and updated interior.
HW2800 I know what you mean. These greedy bastards no that they can get away with it because most people don't bother to say no. I know a guy who was so disgusted with the downsizing that he decided to buy a Traverse.
Bambataa I agree. I hate that it got smaller. I was going to buy a 2017 Acadia. I owned a 2008 version and loved it. When I saw what they did with the new design I was thoroughly disappointed. I talked with the local GMC dealer in my town, and they don't even like the new design. However, they also told me people are buying them like hotcakes, so I might be in the minority with how I feel.
therealme812 our Acadia has better quality than the Highlander we test drove!!! These people are just trying to tear down American cars cause there so damn biased
I found the build quality in the 2018 I rented to appear solid. However, visibility out the rear window was compromised and I found knowing where the front of the car was challenging when parking. Might have to go for the Denali if I ever get one since the lighting is dim without HIDs. These should be standard at this price point. Not sure if the wood accents were real but they looked convincing. The ride seemed a bit choppy over bad or uneven pavement but I was driving it in Sport mode which I read in the owner's manual tightens up the suspension damping. It seemed to ride better in Touring mode. Overall a nice effort by GM.
I think it's time they media outlets stop pretending pricing works the same for all brands. MSRP for GM is thousands above actual price anyone needs to pay. MSRP for Toyota is often very close to what you'll actually pay. I'm not saying I like that it works that way, but this vehicle with 3-5k off becomes pretty compelling.
Was looking at one recently I really like the design and yeah outside the vehicle the entire looks nice but once you hope in you notice the fit/finish obvious imperfections. Which is absurd when the cost of the vehicle can easily get over 40k
I test drove a Buick years ago and was sitting in the back seat noticing the materials in the rear were far worse then front of the car. I was like I bet on the website none of the pictures show the back seat, and I was right. GM likes put some nice stuff that eyes are focused on but puts garage where not looking. Its old human habit of never looking up or down only straight ahead.
thought this was gonna be better than i expected. sat in it at the car show in toronto and the 2nd row leg room was a little small for it's size. the enclave was better imo.
Ok, too be honest, LED front and rear light should be standard on vehicles starting around 30k, h___ the Toyota Corolla has them standard (front headlights) and hopefully, the 2018 gets GM's new 9 speed auto, would also be nice if all awd models offered the GKN dual clutch awd system, that comes standard all the Acadia All Terrain
Does anyone know if those gray plastic panels around the bottom of standard models can be removed to expose the painted body panels? I would like to ditch the Subaru look. I am hoping they are fastened with only adhesive tape and there wouldn't be holes in the body
The vehicle looks ok, but I wish they would looking into design. The older outdated managers need to retire and let new eyes and idea come to American suv..
Get a Highlander LE Plus. Yes the gear selector looks ancient, the infotainment is meh & it is cloth, but you will be surprised what you get for 36K in 2WD form.
GMC shines once again, disappointing as always. And if case you guys are wondering, one of my neighbors had a Terrain, forget the year though. Had for about 2 years I believe. They weren't satisfied with that car at all.
I cant believe GM is still incurring in the same errors and lack of attention to detail that brought the company to the bankruptcy... I cant believe a brand that is only sell in US (perhaps Mexico as well) they cant manage to make it under good quality control... Or maybe that lack of attention to details and quality is what GM considers "good"... Sorry, but I'll stay with Toyota or Honda, even with Ford.
First time owning a GMC product.. Nice car really but for the head lamp. 'Day time drive only'. .I thought I missed it not until I ve read other people reviews. ...GMC wake up...
I have a 2017 Acadia and I have even upgraded the lights to LED and they’re still pretty horrible. My 09 duramax and even my 98 sierra 1500 have way better light’s especially being upgraded to led. Need to put a light bar on the Acadia plumbed into the high beams
Material inside is not near luxury and assemble quality is poor with big seam gaps. Very narrow width inside too. Total width is 74.6" but inside is less then 65", very cramp! All Terrain version only has the orange leather seats but I learn just recently fabric seats are offer now.
Great review but next time KBB try to announce ALL this cars' competitors. By only mentioning some of the competitors only makes you biased to those car brands.
Dude, doubt if GM provides you with another vehicle to review, you're too good at this (and way too honest) this "vehicle" is absolute rubbish - build quality matters people - perhaps perspective buyers should cross shop this puppy before signing that dotted line and regretting that move for 48 months
the 8 inch touch screen is a load of shit. its harder to use then the 7 inch in the lower end chevs and the driver center screen is a distraction. i was upset when i bought my new malibu lt and it did not have it until i had a rental with an 8 inch and it was down right dangerous because everything was in the center screen and you have to look down to see it unlike the center stack where you can at least keep an eye on the road
This new GMC design language is very awkward looking, GMCs look nicer when they are mostly comprised of squares and rectangles. This Acadia has an awkward grille, awkward 3/4 doors, awkward headlights, awkward rear lights. I'd rather they stick to the squared off angled grilles and lights of the past.
What's with GM and their lack of ability to build small to mid size crossovers? Ford does it somewhat decently, the Escape,Edge and Explorer all do decently well. What happened to the GM counterparts? They look hideous and the build quality aren't great either. Not saying any domestic brands are good at building solid cars in the first place.
It's all preference. Ford makes their SUVs that make driving a pain. Point is, if you like the style you will get an Acadia or you can choose to go with the traverse or encore. Also, this was made in America for those of you who want to bash it.
I wish journalist would mention the headlight performance more often. I'm glad they did here.

Thomas Jacques thank you for your service.
I think GM actually hit it out of the park with this one. Looks great
is it just me or does that car look fuckin good. the front grille and headlight led accents look well proportioned and the side profile is so clean. the denali version looks nice too. I've never seen a gmc I'm not American but it does look nice
My dad used to have a GMC Acadia 2015
Good spot on the headlamps. I'm seriously annoyed brand new cars have dim, even dangerously dim, headlights. I hope auto companies stop being cheap on a critical nighttime safety feature.
This seems to be a common trend with trucks and SUVs they're almost all rated very poorly.
Our Acadias lights are fine
idk if you have ever driven in front of those but they are dangerous to anyone in a car because their light are so bright when they become equipped with led or hid lights
It's actually not the auto companies faults, the USDOT just has very strict rules on headlights. They have to be shitty to pass. That's why we can't have the cool tail lights on the Euro Mercedes and Audis, they're just too well designed.
igeekone No LED lights offer for this Acadia best lamps offer are Xenons.
Great review. GM need to step up their interior design. And why did they make it smaller? i would prefer they kept the old proportions and give it more power and updated interior.
Bambataa Smaller means less materials used in the making of Acadia and charging the same for it, you can figure that out!
HW2800 I know what you mean. These greedy bastards no that they can get away with it because most people don't bother to say no. I know a guy who was so disgusted with the downsizing that he decided to buy a Traverse.

The "velocitator." Exxxxxcellent, Zach.
Great review. Sorry to hear about the poor build quality
therealme812 yeahh I understand where the dislikes coming from
therealme812 our Acadia has better quality than the Highlander we test drove!!! These people are just trying to tear down American cars cause there so damn biased
@@matthewlocke157 i agree, some guy online said he went through 2 tranny's in 30000 miles. Bullshit lol

Watched that sun shade moment multiple times
That sunroof is SAVAGE!

Great review... had me laughing while being informative!
A reviewer with personality!...good review...Particularly funny was the terrifying sun roof lol....

remove antennas off cars, its 2017
I would be happy to drive a V6, AWD version. Good review.
You guys always have the best conclusions
Ok, too be honest, LED front and rear light should be standard on vehicles starting around 30k, h___ the Toyota Corolla has them standard (front headlights) and hopefully, the 2018 gets GM's new 9 speed auto, would also be nice if all awd models offered the GKN dual clutch awd system, that comes standard all the Acadia All Terrain
44k and no auto up/down on the windows? even a base explorer has it for the drivers side.
Jordan F It's so funny
Our 2018 Denali’s driver window is automatic up??
This or the new Mazda CX9? My mom's looking for a 7 seat crossover but I suggested her this coz it contains a V6. What are your opinions?
Go for the Acadia. Unless she's looking for a zoom-zoom suv, this offers better ride for everyone
Sang Eeth A Kia Sorento instead.
Sang Eeth Mazda is usually rated higher than gm, if you've never experienced gm service you're lucky. goto your library and go check consumer reports.
Cx-9
This acadia! The reliability and quality and tide and quitness is amazing!!!
Dear GM(C), Anything 'Denali' should not have poor fit & finish.
No turn signal indicators on side mirrors????? The old Acadia and the new 2018 terrain has it. As does Ford Edge.
CX-9 Signature, other than the lack of AA or CP seems the better choice.
the Acadia and Traverse were GM twins and now according to this the Traverse is much larger. interesting
Does anyone know if those gray plastic panels around the bottom of standard models can be removed to expose the painted body panels? I would like to ditch the Subaru look. I am hoping they are fastened with only adhesive tape and there wouldn't be holes in the body
Really Cost Cutting
Legend says he's still walking...
🌟Traverses#1!
5:28 was the best part
I like the Denali version. Looks good.
Please do a review for the new Ford Edge
No driver express up window?? Our 2018 acadia Denali has it??
It's optional.
2:03
*quack quack*
😂
Excluding the Denali, I feel like GMC dropped the ball a bit on this gen Acadia
love that instant sunroof part...lol
Where is the ashtray?
wow never heard bad head lights in a review before
Solid review. This vehicle has a lot of shortcomings. Looking forward to your Terrain review later this year.
That roof radio antenna is straight outta 2010.
The sunshade at 5:34 scared me
The vehicle looks ok, but I wish they would looking into design. The older outdated managers need to retire and let new eyes and idea come to American suv..
Get a Highlander LE Plus. Yes the gear selector looks ancient, the infotainment is meh & it is cloth, but you will be surprised what you get for 36K in 2WD form.
Ivan Vojt Highlander is just hard to beat. Runs forever without issues and superb resale
4 words- Do Not Buy This.
Why?
That moon roof...
Okay, let me be honest. American cars aren't what they used to be. Asian cars? Effing flawless
I love it I must purchase because of the hands free power liftgate
Gamer Playz same I can't reach
Modern GMC Envoy. Great as a rental car
My fav in this class is the Highlander
LogicTech The Toyota Highlander?
I'd purchase this. If only it was offered in EV or hybrid.
Buy a Mazda CX-9. You get full auto windows on all fours and LED headlights are standard for $3k less than the Acadia.
worst American road ways ? bring it to Michigan!
settle down there my state almost went bankrupt with the roadway trust fund :)
hahaha this is too true!
I actually laughed out loud...so true----Kalamazoo, MI
That thicker steering wheel is sexy
Love this car it's looks it the best in class
don't expect anything with a GMC logo to be refined
GMC shines once again, disappointing as always. And if case you guys are wondering, one of my neighbors had a Terrain, forget the year though. Had for about 2 years I believe. They weren't satisfied with that car at all.
Looks good
hahahahahhaah nailed it @ 5:30
Fantastic! Lovin this review.

Sorry, but I'll stay with Toyota or Honda, even with Ford.
Who cares about the 4wd system or interior or engine choices or anything about this car if you can't drive it at night.
First time owning a GMC product.. Nice car really but for the head lamp. 'Day time drive only'. .I thought I missed it not until I ve read other people reviews. ...GMC wake up...

Ford Edge sport please
If I bought I car in this class I'd go with this or the cx-9
Do a ford explorer
why did he say v4
Once again gm has shown a complete lack of care into building their vehicles no wonder why they keep breaking down
Can you guys do a review on the toyota chr? Just saying hahaha
Material inside is not near luxury and assemble quality is poor with big seam gaps. Very narrow width inside too. Total width is 74.6" but inside is less then 65", very cramp! All Terrain version only has the orange leather seats but I learn just recently fabric seats are offer now.
Because... ITS NOT A LUXURY CAR!!! Point A to Point B!!!
SummerWest VEVO I was referring to the Denali level trim which is compare to Acura, Infiniti, Lincoln brands which are near luxury.
Why do current cars look like they came out of a Korean factory circa 2000?
A half step behind the pilot and more money! Sorry but this doesn't cut it with us.
I don't like the built quality, rattles and gap here and there. I hope GMC will focus on their built quality.
Great review but next time KBB try to announce ALL this cars' competitors. By only mentioning some of the competitors only makes you biased to those car brands.
Oh wow, next time they'll list hundreds of different car models? They mentioned the models that are the most similar to this.
And then he abandons it next to the train tracks and walks off. Cute.
Wow that's a scary sunshade! I hope there's complimentary blood pressure pills in the glovebox !
GM... General Manure
The Traverse is really really ugly
Mazda CX-9 kills this.
until you realize that the Mazda CX9 only comes in a 4 cylinder turbo
Dude, doubt if GM provides you with another vehicle to review, you're too good at this (and way too honest) this "vehicle" is absolute rubbish - build quality matters people - perhaps perspective buyers should cross shop this puppy before signing that dotted line and regretting that move for 48 months

Cheap quality for its price. not worth it.
great car. I wish GM is owned by Toyota
It wouldn't be GM then.
I wish Toyota conquer the states
Wing Tsui
You sound like the stereotypical Asian villain in a bad 1940's Hollywood movie.

Anyone else think it'd be funny if he got hit by a train at 6:33?
How hasn't GM died off yet? Better question, why do people still buy shitty GM cars?
notification squad!!
Why is he walking when he has a vehicle, is about to commit suicide by train?
No? Auto? Up? Window???? Are we in 1986???
jwatwater It because the accountant though they could cut cost and offer a cheaper controls. GM is like that. Save a few dollars on a $50K car!
I think this is a dud.
terrible quality...
Like :)
why does he just walk away from the car that shit was stupid
waste of money, might as well get an old suburban for much cheapern
