- One constant you can put up there with death and taxes, is people always want more. So, it’s usually the case for each new generation of vehicle to get bigger and bigger. Well, GM has proved before they’re not afraid to give people more from less, and that’s the story behind this new GMC Acadia, so let’s hear more about it.
Trivia question: What was the first modern 3-row crossover? If you said the 2007 Saturn Outlook, congratulate yourself. If you said the 07’ GMC Acadia; well, you’re half right as it did share its chassis with the Outlook. And if you’re saying “what is a Saturn?” Well, you’ll have to google it, as we must move on and start talking about this 2017 GMC Acadia...

Looks so much better than the other options and 6.8 to 60; that’s impressive! Nice work GMC!
This version looks a bigger version of the GMC Terrain or what the old GMC Envoy would look like now.
I like the classical American styling
2:55 6.8 seconds to 60? That's not "pretty quick for a 3-row family ute", that's fast for any non-sports car.
It too bad the torque does not kick in until 4000 rpm. 0-40 will be slow going!
HW2800 I think GM has done a great on all there cars but you hit the nail ok the heads no low end torque..
Anthony Flexas- Flexas That for positive reply. Competition will fix GM powertrain disadvantage and make GM offer better solutions in the near future. GM still has their new 9 speed transmission to release on this Acadia too.
My 2017 Acura MDX hits sixty in 5.9 seconds so I'm inclined to agree with you
i miss saturn :(
Proud owner of a 2018 Acadia Denali
Well. we've already got 20 some year olds saying 'What is an Oldsmobile'.....
Saturn and Pontiac are next...
Not Pontiac. Never Pontiac.
Can't wait to see the new Terrain !
aayonce4 if you look at this good, it look this looks like an updated terrain.
lol that's what I said too after I commented
When you put the 0-60 time and 1/4 mile time and speed can you also include times from this vehicle's direct competitors? Knowing how fast the Pilot and Highlander are compared to the Acadia would be helpful.
I'd never buy one, but I like it. Looks very nice in my opinion.
I would question towing reduction is not based on the dimensions, but rather the shift from a RWD to FWD platform.
Barry Scanlan the Acadia has never been a RWD platform... it's always been a FWD based crossover.
definitely took Durango cues
How come no one ever talks about seat belt comfort for the driver? Especially since the front seat belts in General Motors car last the height adjustment I've often found that GMC belts have a tendency to cut into the neck.
The styling looked like a modern take on our 2004 Bravada (sadly just totaled in an accident), so we shopped it & test-drove a Denali. It was smooth, decent power, beautiful interior. But the BODY-LEAN... whoa. Our 13-year old 100K miles Bravada, which of course was truck based, felt much more stable by comparison. The Denali pushes the pricing envelope, too - it leaves the "attainable luxury" segment and attempts to play in an unrealistic territory. Being realistic, you can have a comparable-to-better CUV and overall better ownership experience elsewhere for (even much) less than $50K.
Did you guys do a reviews on the 2005 Tahoe Z71 body style that you can upload?
Poor camera position when showing the 2nd row leg room.
That wood trim is pretty bad, and you have to spend $38k to get a V6?
Motor Trend chose the CX-9 and Highlander over it in a comparison test
Bring back Saturn! I miss Saturn, I’ve owned 5 now 2000 SL1, 2001 SL2, 2002 Vue, 2003 L300, and now my 09 outlook XR
wtf is the driver wearing a race helmet dude its a fukn acadia not a formula one car
That track you test on looks like it closed 5-10 years ago. Time to find a new spot.
Or restore it!
police1184 why?? it's a drag strip not the MGM grand.
Funny how making it bigger the last 5-10 years or whatever was a benefit, now making it smaller is a benefit. LOL, auto marketing guys. Yawn.
yeah GM started it. now they're all bloted huge family cars...honda Toyota etc & now GM is downsizing and it's a negative because all the competition is bigger. it's crazy. it still looks like you can't see out of it though that hasn't changed
I cant wait to see if they fixed the 3.6 timing chain failures.I am still hearing about it with 2012-2013 owners.
It all new engine inside the new Acadia!
LFX 3.6 didn’t have those issues.
@@damontroch4765Acadia never came equipped with the LFX 3.6
Outlook was definitely not the first three row crossover. Inaccurate. I know the Honda Pilot debuted with 3 rows on a car based chassis in 2003. And I won't even claim this was the first. Suzuki XL7 comes to mind before that, don't know if it's a crossover.
FULLSIZE CROSSOVER also first competitive 3 row crossover... pilots dont have usable 3rd row space
1:38 rust RUST!!!
need to update the track....lots of weeds
It looks the same as a Dodge Durango.....
The 6 speed GMC uses sccks. I have a Silverado. The new 8 speed is supposed to be way better. This Denali should get the 385 with an 8 speed.
it's shocking how much smaller it is in person. I always think it's an updated version of that putrid ugly boxy thing they sell instead of the new Acadia.
It about 4" narrower then the previous version at 74.6" wide!
I'll keep my durango
You actually bought a Durango? LOL!
Uhh... the Durango is very nice! Competitive! Just drive one and see!
Went from a 2014 Traverse to the 2017 Acadia. it performed well on the test drive but after having it a few weeks it is a piece of garbage. It has a very rough ride, and shifts roughly. The old Traverse was a much better vehicle
Durango over this ugly thing
Friends don't let friends buy Dodge.
Looks so ugly and so old!!! I would fire the hole team who designed that SUV GARBAGE
Walter 777 the hole team? College grad are ya?
You haven't seen it in real life, I have and I love it
Ugly inside and out and the v6 is to expensive
