Sith Warrior: "Quinn would never betray me again, not after I threw him across the room a couple times after luring me into a trap and trying to kill me."
God damn Quinn’s voice acting is heart wrenching! I’ve never really had the stomach for a lot of the dark side choices cause I’m a wimp, but holy crap!
@@aaron75fy It always bugged me that I didn't have any other options but to let him get away with betraying me the first time. I'm glad that very unsithy choice was put right eventually.
Elara's an amazing character... it's just tragic that to see the best of her you have to be an asshole or a vile scumbag. Naturally, she's hated because she will take Dark Side players to task.
Quinn is such a tragic character. He was forced to make an impossible choice between the SW and Baras and chose wrong. Fate was cruel to put him in that position when all he wanted was to be a good soldier.
Say what you will about swtor's lack of content but man its gotta take a lot of work and a lot of dedication to keep up with all the player choices, even just the major ones. Most people never notice the differences but its gotta be done.
11:15 Good lord, I love female Sith Warrior voice actress there. The pure vitriol she invokes with her voice is just perfect. You can feel every ounce of built up rancour toward Quinn.
Lol Elara is so anti-empire. So on my warrior, I sided with the reps on Iokath then back with the imps on Onslaught. Since she's still an available companion, I put her in Pierce's old Imperial uniform and am enjoying the irony
Geez, Dorne sure gets vicious in this part Wish non romanced Quinn could be imprisoned without having him beg for mercy. 0:41 Says the gal who wanted to secure a superweapon herself
Still gotta respect the people who call the PC out on their crap. Too bad they often get the short end of stick in the fan community, like say Koth. I don't think he can be imprisoned right away. My pureblood male SW is light sided and those are still the options he gets.
I do love how Elara Dorne completely denounces you if you're dark side and/or with The Empire. She's already given up all her loved ones to defect to the Republic and do what's right, so she may not like it but she knows that she has no choice but to make a similar decision again, and completely cut ties to you if you're dark side and/or with The Empire. After all, it may hurt her for hating you but that's never stopped her before, so that won't stop her again. Dorne's too strong to turn a blind eye to what's wrong, it doesn't matter if it's the Empire, The Republic, her superior officer(s), or even her loved ones, and she hasn't changed over these six years (debunking the idea that compassion is a form of weakness. On a similar note, I do feel bad for a romanced Elara whose trooper was dark side and/or with The Empire. She spent her life in a family that raised her to be an Imperial, then she realized what she was doing was wrong so she decided to defect. But once she defected no one trusted her until she was transferred into Havoc squad (and while she'll still be trusted more by your Trooper and The Republic as a whole whether or not or romanced her), and she fell in love with its commander. She said "I haven't taken the time for personal relationships since I came to the Republic. Not until now." After awards you can say "You deserve to be happy." and she'll respond "I think I'd forgotten what the feeling was like." The person who made her so happy when she needed it, the person who loved her, and she loved back, the person who she married, and wanted to raise a family with, the person who allowed her to bring her brother back to her, who was one of the few people left who made her happy, and who once she went missing wanted nothing more to find despite being removed from the best squad in the Republic (yes I know she gets removed regardless of if you romanced her), was a person she knew she had to oppose to do the right thing. Because in the end "the easy way isn't always the best way" is a lesson ingrained in Elara Dorne, she has been taught it better than anyone, and the galaxy wants to remind her of it at every conceivable opportunity. Honestly, I think being a Trooper whose dark side and/or with The Empire is the worst betrayal you can give Elara Dorne or anyone for that matter, yes it's right up there with Saul (who we should call) Karath's betrayal of Carth. But Elara was given the same choice she had when she chose to defect and she made the same choice. Call me biased because knowing you could romance Elara Dorne and that she was a defector was what made me pick up the Trooper storyline on Taris again, after getting tired of it, and I like characters that call out people doing bad things in any story, but this is just how I see it. I do love how Elara drone is the only companion that will break up with you if you have a certain alignment, because love, compassion, affection, warmth, kindness (directed towards her), those are all luxuries that she learned long ago to let go of if she needs to, and if given the chance to give them all up for what's right again presents itself it's not a choice she'll always do what's right. Kira Carsen, Doc, Lieutenant Felix Iresso, Nadia Grell, Corso Riggs, Ensign Ranna Temple, Vector Hyllus, Make, Vette, and Ashara Zavros are all light side companions who don't care if you're dark side but Elara Dorne does care about who you are more than anything else, because to her doing what's right purely because it's what's right is the most important aspect of a person and if you don't show that then you don't deserve to be with her is what she thinks. I liked Elara Dorne before War of Iokath but afterwards, I not only liked her but respected her, because she's truly a person who puts her money where her mouth is and backs up her moral standing with actions, shows true strength when she is willing to cut ties to even the closest to her, and is the only romanced companions to call you out for your horrible actions, and never puts up with them. And all of that deserves respect.

Yeah, personally for me I can't really make myself to kill the people who were close to me even if its a video game and consequences are no matter in real life. Just that the feels are really pulled by the creators of these conversations that it makes me empathetic to them so much. Quinn is the best example, he spent so much time and most of his life searching for the emperor's wrath but if the player chose to kill him, it would make me feel super bad for Quinn. His loyalty shows a lot of investment and sacrifice he has given. Damn my feelings
I'd say it's mostly a bone to those players who couldn't stomach forgiving him after his betrayal in the vanilla story. It was an understandable tactical decision then (people started to struggle without their only healer companion), but a bad one for storytelling.
