  • @barhab
    @barhab 5 лет назад +6

    To be honest, this track is not really suitable for this kind of test. It's very sparse and does not really utilize the full frequency range and dynamics. Would have liked to hear a bigger/fuller production.

  • @PeteHaase
    @PeteHaase 4 года назад +3

    A big reason to go the mixing engineer route is to have another set of ears who has never heard it give some advice on mix, especially if they're pros. For ppl with limited fan base and/or budget an online option is convenient obvs. Really wonder what software is automating the process. I have been doing it myself and my tracks are not quite as loud as many others unless they were mastered/released years ago. Has loudness become a necessary evil to maintain levels in playlists, etc., but are we sacrificing sonic integrity/dynamic range? So much music is a synth beat with people yelling on top of it that maybe it doesn't matter? Many pro remasters released because they're supposedly better, sound distorted. I always choose the older mastered copy if I can find it for purer fidelity.

    Thank you for creating and sharing this informative video. Your presentation is very good. If anything, I would only say that I'd prefer more practical insight on exactly what one would do, to accomplish one's own mastering step, so that I can understand better what it is that emaster is doing. Or, what it is that *you* commonly do to produce your masters: how do you do it, what tools, and what's happening on a waveform-level. You glossed over this rather quickly and I'd love to know more on that. But overall, excellent - and thank you.

Just so I can get the idea across in a presentable form other than just my raw mixing. When it comes time to record of fully produced album I will most likely stick to a human engineer.

      BEWARE Of Emastered. They steal your money if you cancel. I have a huge email chain I can provide anyone. The email is between me and their main rep. I asked if I could cancel my yearly membership’s auto renew. When I asked this I was told they would keep my money for the year and cancel me entirely. I still had 9 months left on my yearly I had paid for. They canceled my 9 months without asking after and Im out nearly 200 dollars. Ive been working trying to see if I can get it back since they shouldn’t steal my remaining 9 months. here is what I received…
      From eMaster’s Main Rep…
      We are not stealing your money.
      Read the terms of service and you acknowledge this at check out when you purchase the plan.
      As stated on our terms:
      Annual Plus and Annual Professional accounts are billed immediately and are not refundable. IN THE CASE OF A CANCELLATION OR DOWNGRADE OF A Professional OR Plus PLAN NO REFUND WILL BE ISSUED FOR PARTIAL YEARS OR PARTIAL MONTHS. You may cancel your Plus or Professional accounts at any time however, and the cancellation will be instant.
      This does not tell you you can’t cancel autopay without loosing all of your money and months you paid for.
      Long story short…. If you want to use online mastering use LANDR or any other. LANDR is chosen in blind tests with real Mastering engineers about 80% over eMastered. LANDR is only chosen 4% less than a professional master engineer in a blind test.
      Don’t get the company (remastered) with worse results, same price, horrible customer service, and will steal your money should you decide they shouldn’t auto charge your card. BTW they charge your card nearly a month in advance so if you cancel you lose a month you paid for.
      LANDR has no penalties to cancel and you get the rest of the time you paid for without them sending vindictive emails.
      Ozone 8 is also chosen far more often then eMastered mixes are. Plus you can rent to own through Splice or Sweetwater for cheaper than eMaster will charge you for an inferior product with the added plus of not being stolen from when you realize Ozone or LANDR get much better results.

I once had an amp repair guy try to sell me a new speaker for my amp because it would give me " a rich, chocolately sound" ...and I was only there because my amp was blown and needed repair to work at all, not because I was looking for a chocolatey tone (whatever tf that is)

Could I take it and put it in another daw or engine for it to work? These are the questions I wanted answered. If they do Imbed tracking algarythems to make sure your royalties come back to you. I tried it . Not much difference but it is through their engine. who's to say how that stands up to other engines or daws being played through them. Just because you can press a red button and it plays . Does not mean it works with other engines or daws to put in movies or anything. These are the questions I would like answered.

I tried next one where was only mp-f, but still a big problems. You have to cut very much of frequences before it doesn´t clip. After that timpani drums, contra basses etc sounds too flat.
      Hopely they will improve compressing and gate tools for different music styles, cause your song sounds really good. @@JulianGrayMedia

      I dont suggest putting a mastered track through a mastering service.

    It does not work, the melody stays and and everything gets quieter by 80% and the hole track is quieter by 50%

    What about a 3rd option of having an experienced engineer checking your online mastered track? Example: ruclips.net/video/2WjIVUa782k/видео.html

    love your mastering, hate emastered mastering, ,, everyone who says it sounds very close to his mastering needs new ears. ITS OVERCOMPRESSED!
    Use your ears not your eyes. You say yours is overcompressed, in my ears, the emastered version sounds overcompressed.

      There's definitely some difference but it's not AWFUL. I could use emastered and be pretty satisfied with it

    You suppose to have all plug ins off and turn track down to negative 6 DB's or -3 dB's on the mater track what you did was incorrect

    Even with a good mix emastered is a scam. Avoid it and avoid taking advice in this video. You will get much better results learning to master your good mixes or paying an engineer.

    You're getting paid to say all of this. Secondly you can't master a track with out putting it in to stems. This is for bedroom producers that don't know how to get gain with out it clipping to fuck

    Okay, so this is a demo of a song created entirely on a computer with no real instruments, and then mastered by an automated system with no human involvement. Isn't this kind of silly? It's automated mastering of fake music. A better demonstration would be to see how automated mastering does with a mix that contains actual instruments played by humans. That is where you will find your dynamics, etc.

      I tried mastering a live recording of my band and it actually made it sound worse by distorting my vocals. Other than that it sounded no different to my mix.
