- The BMW ConnectedDrive Apple CarPlay enables you to access selected apps like iMessage, WhatsApp, TuneIn, Spotify and Apple Music, and functions on your Apple iPhone . Thanks to its wireless integration, Apple CarPlay can be operated via various iDrive functions, like the iDrive controller, touch screen or voice controls, depending on your car's make and model. The BMW control display adopts the familiar iPhone interface, to view your smartphone's content.
In this video you can get more information on how to pair your iPhone with your BMW, and a quick explanation on how to access voice controls from your steering wheel.

Why in Germany Apple carplay not supported for 2019 X1 model ???
Siri must be enabled on Iphone in order to see CarPlay feature in General settings
Even cheaper cars have both Android auto and apple car play..
There isn't anything special with having only one and advertising...
why doesn't it take over the entire screen?

I had to get my connecteddrive working by email and I’ve had a ‘long trip’ with no carplay

Why Apple Car Play in BMW doesn’t work in Poland?
Apple Car Play works in Poland in VW, Hyunday, Ford, Mercedes, Audi etc.
How long we have to wait?

@98thpixel Well, Mercedes is considered more of a luxurious brand, including others like Bentley etc... your point is non-in void because all these "luxurious brands offer both.

It is just ridiculous and actually unacceptable that this needs to be purchased... Mercedes is definitely improving faster and responding to consumers' needs better these days!
I love CarPlay and won’t buy a car without this included now. Mercedes includes this feature “free” so does every other car manufacturer.
I have a bmw x2 m sport bought in the 2018 , it has the same infotainment of the video , the connectivity plus package costed me like 6000 € and it says that apple car play isnt supported in my car , what a shame

I was so upset when I discovered that Android Auto isn't supported by BMW, I can't believe even audi has it available. I'm so dissapointed in you, BMW...
What a hell i payd 40 k on my 5 series 2019 and it doesn’t have apple car play! When in all the cars it’s for free! And the worst i pay extra for the apple car play and it come only for half screen not full screen 🤦🏻♂️ I’m so disappointed
My 2020 X3 has Apple Car Play built in and works just fine most of the time. The one thing that irks me is when my wife and I are in the car, there seems to be some confusion as to which iPhone the car picks up. It seems that if I drive the car alone, the Car Play works just fine but when my wife is alone, she has to reinitialize it for her phone in order for her apps to work. Is anyone aware of a way to get around this and allow us to have both phones in the car and allow us to select which one is “sync’d” with the car unit?

There are currently too many vulnerabilities in Android Auto for BMW to comfortably allow it on their vehicles. Apple CarPlay is much more secure against hacking compared to the much more universal android system. I agree that it has been enough time now that they should have had it figured it out. Also, I'd like to make a note that on the new 2019 BMW X5 with the newest iDrive system, you do in fact have to have an account in order to use Apple CarPlay and it will be a subscription based service, unlike what this video is advertising.

Nothing is free. BMW gives the option, to not include a feature for those who dont need it. You really think the other brands give you carplay feature for free? You pay for every feature in your car.

Ich habe Videos gesehen, die mit Softwareanpassungen sowas hinbekommen aber es muss doch einen Weg geben ohne fremden Software bei Apple Car Play Vollbild zu haben?
