I remember the day when I was watching this episode I screamed at the screen and almost broke my tv. I couldn't belive that eren just died. Then I understood how realistic this show was. That's what happens in a war. Eventhough we lost him eren will be remembered forever for his sacrifice. 😭

I just love watching the people react to episode 5 and realize how different of a show AOT is for killing their main character after putting so much background to them lol.
I kinda hate that Eren died this early. Like I almost forgot how badass he was. It's been so long since these first few episodes. 😅

personally i think armins scream in dub is way better
i think some parts in dub are way better, but it is lackluster in some parts
The emotion is still very good also the dialogue is also better for dub the way they talk compared to subtitles are way better
It just hits different in Japanese than any other language because it's the original and it's from Japan. That way you could actually appreciate the work and give props to the show and imo, Japanese just goes well with anime cause the language is cooler.
They are really first-time viewers, judging by their reactions and theories, and not like those other reactors who clearly had knowledge of the show and were simply faking reactions. Please guys, don't get spoiled! It's fun to watch you theorize 😂

Eren's death hits so hard, and I've seen so many different responses... denial, anger - I've even known people who stopped watching AoT altogether after his death. He was such a great character. RIP

Interesting theory about humanity thriving outside the walls and putting our characters through some kind of horrific science experiment. Some of the mysterious elements of the show would be impossible to guess but many aren't! Keep throwing your theories out there.

I still remember the first time I've watched it and saw Eren's death, and i was SO SHOCKED. "How can they kill the protagonist??"
Truth is that in AOT everyone is a protagonist of a story, and although that's sad, now we'll get to see how this death will affect the rest of them.
Thank you for not switching to DUB. Just like some words' meaning might be lost in translations, in DUB there will also be some expressions lost. The anger, the sadness, the fear, the desperation, etc. The Japanese VAs did the voicing thoroughly to get all the emotions delivered perfectly to the audience. I still get the chills just by hearing their voice, even without watching the visual.
Anyway, you have great theories there, keep it up, never hesitate to state your theories. It's part of the fun in watching AoT, to find out which one of your theories hit. Can't wait to see next and future episodes.

The sub is far superior, no dub.
Not really, the sub for AOT is really good. I can understand people want to watch these shows in their original form but let’s not pretend that English voice actors aren’t doing good work.
@@WeimE28attack on Titan is one of those animes where I could easily move from dub to sub. The dub is surprisingly good and has it's better moments too

Armin becoming the protagonist at this point is something I really didn't expect the first time I watched it, blew my mind.... And a friendly word of advice, please do NOT switch to dub, in this anime no other voice in the world is capable of conveying the same intensity and emotion as the japanese voice actors!!

Idk but it felt way better than them just killing the titans and being OP for no reason when they're actually just human.

Everyone was SHOCKED by Eren’s death but when you think about it, the dude had a death wish.
I mean marching on to kill some abnormal titan when he didn’t even get yo kill a regular slow one is insane. Dude had JUST finished his training!
He was kind of an idiot to think he’d get what he wanted (kill all titans and be free) if he really really wanted it.

One of the coolest things about the design of their weapons imo, they dont really call attention, but their swords are made like box cutter blades, so it can break and not have a portion of the blade get caught up when slicing, cus it snaps along that line so it still has the proper edge.

Remember the cadets are basically all 15-16 years old. So Armin just watched his best friend and comrades die on their first mission, just after graduating, all at 15 years old.

Almost forgot about Eren while rewatcing AoT. His character was a typical shonen protagonist and it was brave of Isayama to kill him off just like that. Clearly sets the mood of the show. Rip Eren.

I’ve seen many react channels watch AOT and I’ve never seen a single comment spoil anything, only red herrings and misdirects which is pretty cool to see a fan base purposefully trying throw you off so you are completely clueless until you need the answers.

The dub isn't bad as people make it out to be. They had good voice actors and they did good with the emotions and all that. One of the few animes I've seen with good dubbing

NOT to dissuade the theorycrafting (cause that honestly is the best part of the series), but as far as I recall, the "book about the outside world" that Armin found is never stated to have contained anything about humanity. The conversation in S1E5 only tells us that it describes the various climates & geographical regions of the world. Anyway, loved the reaction. Cheers! 😀
It's really hard to leave a joke or a comment without it giving away the best stuff by accident! It's in the next episode that I went from hating this show to loving it.
