An excellent example of a true musician! I think Peter Hammill deserves more recognition than most of today's popular performers. This song is a masterpiece along with some of the best Van Der Graaf Generator epics. What a trip! It really provides energy like a real generator!

Peter Hammill is the only performer who I would listen to attempting something like this. Only a true legend could take a full band song 45 years old, and breathe life into it in a fearless solo performance.

@@paraa9 funny, before this tour, which I did not have the good fortune to attend, I considered trying for myself a solo cover of Louse. Couldn't quite wrap my tongue around all of the lyrics though, but I am quite inspired after seeing this.

Any good song - well, perhaps I shouldn’t go that far - should, to some extent, work with just one instrument. And the piano provides percussion as well as melody and harmony. This seems like a damn challenging song to sing regardless of the accompaniment.
I have loved Van de Graaf and Peter for many years now, but if I had to take one single track to a desert island , then this would be it...
the original recorded track from the Silent Corner and the Empty Stage is truly magnificent...a poet and a genius..

This is so sick. Peter at this age crushes anyone I've seen in their 20's in 2020. What an inspiration for the game of life itself. You could crap out the cure to cancer and no one would notice and that's okay.

Jesus fuck. This is incredible. I’m in all these audio groups and people go on and on about their favourite corporate behemoths wit their excellent production values but ultimately are now vacuous shells of themselves. Printing money and offering nothing new and Hammill still has the fire, and the cajones to perform this. Pushing himself off a ledge and landing on two feet.

Sencillamente maravilloso. Aunque existan muchos cantantes y compositores talentosos en la historia del rock progresivo, nadie como él puede transmitir tanta emoción, fuerza, belleza, locura y dulzura juntas en una canción. Interpretarla de manera tan auténtica después de tantos años y que siga sonando conmovedora es inexplicable.

Trovatene un altro che a 72 anni riesce sempre con la voce ad affrontare brani così intensi poetici e anche complessi nelle strutture . Lui la sua voce ed il pianoforte riescono ancora oggi ad emozionare a creare una magia sonora che solo pochi riescono a farlo ,es PETER GABRIEL ROBERT WYATT e pochi altri !!! Grandissimo PETER HAMMILL !!!!!
