- I love the atmosphere this song creates! We sang this at my church carol service recently, and I was struck by the beauty of the words, which seem to have extra depth when paired with such a mournful melody. Thought-provoking.

@@LearningtheHarp I restrung that C4 in 10 minutes! I SOOOO thought I would be struggling to tie an anchor knot for HOURS! 🤦♀️. I do think I’d like to get some anchoring buttons from Dusty Strings, but the job is done & I went through 10 of your first 14 “pre-lesson” lessons today. Stephanie Claussen made me promise not to play for more than 10-15 minutes for my first few days. 🤭. (With a Lyon & Healy harp, string buttons from Dusty Strings, harp wheels from Musicmakers & a harp cleaning kit from Harpsicle Harps, I figured I should be called a Harp Mutt…rather than the less positive thought I had of a Harp Whore. 🤣). Happy New Year!

I have a question for beginners. I have worked my lesson up to all 4 fingers and have acquired a piece I would love to learn. However, when I try to place them it seems too much of a stretch for my left hand. Any suggestions?
You should find that your fingers stretch out over time and it’ll feel easier after a while. But don’t push it so much that it hurts, play some other stuff in between and give yourself time to adjust 😊 Make sure you do some gentle stretching in between and rest whenever you feel the need.
hello Christy, how do I change the levers for flats/sharps on the fly for songs that change a lot?
Hi! It’s all about where you place your eyes (being prepared before you do the lever change) and practicising the lever changes on a beat as part of the piece, like it’s a note. That’s a big focus of my Video Courses where the piece has lever changes, I walk you through it and help you practice right.
