God is too faithful to fail. Hi there, I am a Christian and also pray for peace. But please do not call this current genocide a war on Israel. Not when it so blatantly is a genocide, where premature babies were left to die and decompose and rot alone in a hospital because IDF troops would not allow Palestinians to go into the hospital to collect the dead boddies that were abandoned or massacred....... Where Israelis dedicate bombs to there children before firing them into school and churches and hospitals...... Children as young as 5 years old are arrested, tortured, raped, beaten, starved and thrown in jail. Amongst many many more atrocities and war crimes. Including over 6000 children have been murdered since 7 OCT....... I am praying for peace for everyone. Israelis and Palestinian people. There are innocent people on both sides....... Hebrew is a beautiful language. The producer I worked with in Poland is Jewish I was in Israel to record another song in Hebrew (Avinu Malkeinu ) from the same album and this led to translating part of this song.

I'll eventually learn Hebrew. My dad's half Jewish and we're Christian and, when I was 9, the church we went to had a pastor that was a Messianic Jew (A practicing Jew who is also a Christian ) He made me fall in love with Hebrew praise songs. He had a few gems that I have always adored. Plus, proto Hebrew was a super complex and facinating language. So Modern and ancient Hebrew are alphabetic like English. Proto Hebrew (prior to about 600 BC or so) actually had a pictograph element, like Chinese. Each letter was also a number and a word. Multiple words actually, depending on context. You could actually pack paragraphs of meaning into a single Hebrew sentence by paying attentions to these facts. Basically after the fall of Babylon in around 530 BC, the Jews dropped that part of their language to make it easier to learn.

I just got an image of Miriam (Mary) singing this hymn to the newborn Yeshua (Jesus). I know the hymn was written later but how moving to think of Mary singing this to her baby the king of the Jews. What a lullaby that would be for the baby

The meaning of this song is powerful, does anyone realise that? It should b sung whenever possible not just at Christmas. Its a prayer. Without realising it, the Israelites are calling for Emmanuel to b unveiled to them. One day, when the time is right when the right number of fellow Gentiles come to God, God will remove the cover on their hearts n minds and they will accept the answer to this hymn that Emmanuel is JESUS!
