When I glue a nut, I use like 10% of the amount Jake used in this vid! I use just enough glue to keep the nut from falling off the guitar, and no more.

I am not a fan of the way the nut is shifting counterclockwise when the sanding block is moving away from Jake and then shifting clockwise as the sanding block is moving towards Jake. This can lead to the ends of the nut being sanded more than the middle. The nut may still sit flat enough in the middle, but the ends of the nut could have a gap between the nut and the bottom of the nut slot. At .25 speed and starting and pausing the video from 3:09 - 3:13, when the camera focuses well, you can see the shadow under the end of the nut Jake put on. Because it has the gap that I am warning about. This can allow the vibrations to rock that nut enough to become loose in the future. I am not saying you can't get away with this, just that it is a way that has the possibility to introduce an issue than can be harder to diagnose down the line. The nut has to have a totally flat surface from end to end. Be aware to ensure your nut stays flat as you sand it. Also make sure the bottom remains 90 degrees to the fretboard contact surface of the nut.
