So I'm with my whole family for the holidays and my elderly parents now ask me to put the 'spider man' on TV. We have lots of laughs together with your reactions and humour. You can't keep tarantulas in New Zealand but you make this all so interesting I can't stop watching.

When I was moving more Asian slings, I would have a couple of funnel tool I fashioned from craft paper into the shape of cones with holes cut at the tip. It worked for fossorial and arboreal Ts and was treated much like the entrance to a burrow, and they would predictably bolt to the narrowest point. I used it both for directing them into catch cups, as well as into burrows when rehousing. It was, at the time, a common technique for directing spiders into shipping tubes and jars.

Honestly, I would never try that with that tarantula in the really tall enclosure. You would probably just wind up accidentally drowning them if you did. Also, that enclosure wasn't water tested and if you combine the total weight of the substrate and water it could wind up blowing out the sides of the enclosure.
