- finding musicians seems hard but is it really that hard to find musicians when there are so many around in every town and city?
In this video we will look at how to replace a band member and convert musicians into committed enthusiastic band members.
Let's flip this around and ask why are you struggling to find committed musicians?
All musicians think of themselves as committed to the cause but what can we do to make them committed to you and your cause?
What can you do that brings belief from musicians?
If musicians believe in you then they will be committed and it's your job to show that you are worth believing in.

Hey! I'm Damian Keyes and I've worked with musicians every day of my life for the past 20 years. The internet is deeply untrusting understandably and here is my background so you can have the full picture.
When I was 18, I was signed to a major label (dropped 6 months later) and at 23 I co-founded a Music University in Europe called BIMM (valued at $300M). I’m also a bass player, I’ve played for a number of artists including Eric Clapton, Alanis Morrisette and Billy Cobham. I initially retired at 30, but realised that life gets boring if you’re not building!
I have always been in-between the music industry and education which is how I ended up building my RUclips channel - I’ve been teaching artists how to release music long before it was a ‘niche’! I now educate artists around the world with my Academy, RUclips channel and I work directly with labels internationally alongside owning a live agency and management company.

You can play shows on street sides, bars, and festivals. I'm trying to get plugged into the music scene as a singer. If there are any karaoke things near you. You can play there and have it be recorded and put on social media. It's difficult lol just try

My band has been on the go for 35 years and what has really held us back is musicians who don't commit to the cause , as a band leader, its the most frustrating thing ever, I have lost many opportunities because of other members, its sickening to say the least

I stopped searching 5 years ago! I only stayed with 1 band I was endorsed with 3 music companies participated in NAMM shows, did video recordings etc.. but got to expensive to support and we splitted! I tried searching on Craigslist but musician lack honesty and add pro this pro that and it's completely the opposite I have more fun playing with any musician that can keep a beat and rhythm if you have heart you don't have to say it just enjoy playing and be faithful with a band and let everythin fall in place.
Actually, I literally have no idea WHERE to even contact musicians. I wish I did... Like, is there a site somewhere to look through? Or, a newspaper (so old skool).

This was good, it also told me I'm actually committed since I've written lyrics and bass parts and I've tried writing guitar parts but I only have an acoustic (Not great for writing metal). So maybe there's hope for me yet

The major problem I have is that most of the musician I get all want to get payed when I just don't have the cash. Oh yes I have three great albums. and gigs.

That annoys me when musicians do that. I understand that musicians want and need to get paid but its so short term thinking.. To find loyal musicians in at the start prepared to help get it to a level where they can get paid more and be looked after back again. Keep on rocking dude!

Idk what to do. I am a committed musician. I'm a singer. I have been for years. I want to help people who fell down the depression hole I was in. I don't wanna die a nobody. I want to help people. I've sang for years and have played in shows. Im in a choir. It's so difficult because nobody around me is into they type of music I'm in. Also I'm not allowed to use social media as I'm a teenager.

Yeah this video was good. I would consider myself very committed and serious about my music and band. But the socials have been suffering ever since Covid shut down all our upcoming shows. We’ve been social media dead for quite a while now and are in the process of getting our first EP put out. I’ve been looking like crazy for a drummer and I swear it’s like they’re either in 6 bands or they don’t exist. I’m part of the central Florida metal scene. At least I used to be. We’re eager to play shows again. Have been for years now. It’s just been near impossible to start up again.
I say this to say if you are a solid metal drummer and would like to commit to a melodic metalcore band in central FL hit me up. I think you’ll like what you hear and will be a part of.

What if you’re in a town where theres nothing but old people? My bassist lives 40 miles away, my guitarist lives 135 miles away and we all hang out outside of the computer But finding a singer in my town where theres nothing but older people and the pop punk scene is dead and the fact that the metal scene is kinda living down here but its all thrash. Ive tried Craigslist, twitter, facebook, insta. Just nothing seems to work. We promote clips of our songs (which are mixed) and we get views but nothing about singing. Is there something i am missing? Please help
Here in my town you find lots of young people, but very few singers! Is just incredible! Or they sing very bad when you find one. I Think the solution is go to music schools, churchs and every places that can put you in contact with people that sings but don't think about themselves as singers. Discover new artists...i even teach two guys once...bass and keyboard, because that was what i need (at the time) and these guys were crazy for be in a band. Hope this help you
I couldn't find a singer, so I just learned to sing, it's easiest for a bassist or drummer to sing and play.

That's defo a struggle. My suggestion is start building up your authority and discovery by posting on socials and over time people will start to approaching you when they can see your talent and music passions. Show them what you have got! 🙂🙂
