I’m getting my old 12 valve for mine first GEN Rebuild a DNJ machine in Cambridge Ohio. Those guys seem like they really know what they’re doing down there all right this is six in a row.Jim from Kenner, Dale, Pennsylvania
Good job on it, when you set you fiull pump l love to see how you explain step by step please , God bless you all in your bissnes and your family! I thank you very much ❤😂🎉😢😮
I wish some companies would give ARP some competition... its good for the buyer if they do.. i like arp bolts and etc but they are just so crazy expensive 💙💙💙
There are..... But ARP is better! People never think about the hardware for their builds..... THAT is why you take what you think you're going to spend and TRIPLE IT! 😂
I've come to use right stuff on both sides of some gaskets just to better guarantee no leaks. I dont gob it on but i do like you do and just do a bead to guarantee the gasket sticks and seals💙💙💙 right stuff is a diesels best friend, if you dont like stains in your driveway 😂😂
Yeet the gasket all together and just use the right stuff! The right stuff is god tier...... Until you need to remove a part sealed with it! 😂 I will just buy a new part now too! 😂 (unless it has a thick flange) The competitors of FelPro and Mahle, Victor Rxxxxx.... Name Eludes me atm but their gasket maker is the same as the right stuff.... (Just an FYI for if you're in need and the store is out of the black right stuff!) I just like that on top of it actually working extremely well, there's no BS "finger tight and wait an hour, then torque.... THEN wait 24 hours before filling with fluid and putting to use" and instead it's, 'run her home, fill her up and kick her out the door!"
Good stuff thanks for making the video !! I'm going to be going through my donor engine very soon an will set the engine up on my stand that way looks way safer ..
My 380,000 mile 12v has suddenly started blowing by and hazing regardless of rpm. I don't have a shop to do the work myself inside as I am in Wyoming. So I'm starting to price long block builds. Both with and without install.
That's because Manton rockers are some Pro-Mod type rockers typically, people have been using more Manton recently than even Jesel for big HP, high RPM stuff
Hey justin I’m 24 just tryna learn what I can, want to do similar upgrade’s to my 12v Cummins, never done motor work before in that depth but I’m eager to learn, would you recommend a specific service manual to read and follow as a guideline? (Any tips or advice would help)
People use full mechanical injection on gas upwards of 5k HP, especially alcohol blown stuff, I can't see 450hp, even at diesel pressures, being an issue for fully mechanical...but I'm not no diesel mechanic or anything 😅
@@t3dieselperformancerepair228 Mr spell check? That 💩 is funny! I thought I'd add to the humor by saying "always use the right stuff!" It was a twofer! (Better than saying "it's called right stuff not great stuff", no?)
Does the engine stand bolt right up on the side like that? I had mine mounted from the back before I sent it to the machine shop. It was a little sketchy.
Nice and he is fortunate to get to learn about his truck . No better way to appreciate what you have than to be responsible for building it.
So much great content all in one video. Love it. Thanks for keeping us in good content.
Glad you enjoy it!

Love to see this ol 12 valve getting some TLC

Put that on a shirt. Great video.
Great Build Content Josh!!!
Appreciate it!

Good job big boss 👍💯💯
The trick is to torque each one as you replace them. The order of replacement does not matter
Just did this in the truck. Not a good time
Definitely loctite guys, crazy how many bolts felt loose. My kdp was still sitting tight
I checked out Manton new roller rockers,5 gran!!!thats crazy!!!!!
Everybody is off their rocker with prices.

26° timing rattles the old 12v pretty good.
Do all Cummins have the wear ring from the rear main, or just the 12v's?
If your being cheap on the tappet cover, super glue it to the cover and also to the block.
With the right stuff?

What’s the hp/tq limit on a ve pump 12 valve?

Honestly dig up the old comp d and Cummins forum threads! A lot of good info
I’ve used the xotic studs on 6.0 power stroke’s with great results
Keep it up sir!!
We will
Does the 5.9 need an ecu at this power level to run or is it possible to be all mechanical injection still?

Ole pockets showed up
Awesome!!!!!!!!
Daguum, you got me wanting to build another engine....
Do it
Fun fact about xotic headstuds. They’re actually Canadian made not Chinese lol
Great stuff rtv the best!!
It sure is!
Always use the right stuff! 😂
Just FYI..... "Great Stuff" is expanding foam insulation in a can! 😂🤣
@@commonsenseisdeadin2024 alright mr spell check lol. But you are right!!

New valve seals ?
Nope these looked perfect! But definitely check them!
👍💪

It uses 3 bolts and it bolts to the holes in the block that use the engine mounts
@@horsetorquesdiesel sweet! I’m going to do it that way when the block comes back. I think I have the exact same stand you are using.
Does he have a insta?
